Wonderful Wychwood

wychwood festival

As a lot of you may already know we love camping and we love festivals and what better way to start of the season than with Wychwood, we had such a lovely time last year and cannot recommend it enough. It's one of those that is also perfect for first timers as it takes place on Cheltenham racecourse with excellent facilities, super clean toliets and perfectly soft and even camping spaces and for those who don't fancy a tent and want something a little different they also have Tipi's and Yurts for rent.

festival fun

It's not the biggest festival but it is perfectly formed with a lovely kids field with storytelling, crafts, workshops and circus skills. Mr A loved the pottery and clay making last year, as well as the fabric dome. There was also a lovely atmosphere at the campsite which was only a 5-10min walk from the main stages and there were lots of kids for Mr A to play with.

They had some yummy food options which suited everyone wether your veggie or a meat eater or a fussy toddler and the food line up looks pretty good this year as well with Pura Vida, Sumo Wok and Higgidy to name a few.

Summer music festival

We really enjoyed the eclectic line up last year with Bill Bailey, The Beat and The Wedding present to name a few with Mr A's favourite being Mr Bloom. This year is equally good with some amazing blasts from the past acts as we'll as rising talent including The Boomtown Rats, The Stranglers, Reef, Newton Faulkner, King Charles and Kyla La Grange plus many more.

Happy camping

Wychwood is only 10 days away and is the perfect way to start of your summer. It has a lovely carefree and family feel to it and perfect for young children, Mr A was only 2 when we took him, luckily the weather was good all weekend, but even so as long as you have a decent tent and a sense of adventure you will have a wonderful weekend. 7. Cool! I've never been to Wychwood but my sister is going this year and really looking forward to it. We've been to Camp Bestival quite a few times now - that one is great for kids too.

  9. What would you say is the youngest you would take a child? I'd love to go to a festival next year, and my son will be 16 months by the time the next Wychwood rolls over.
