Ring that magazine

So just a quick happy little post to show off my quirky ring John picked up for me from Topshop. It's a triple ring with little hearts on it and being gold it adds that little bit of bling on my fingers. Although I have already been stopped twice and asked if it's a knuckle duster - which ofcourse it is not.

Also the photoshoot I shot for buzz magazine is now out in various shops and bars in Cardiff so I was really happy when my copy came through the door - it's always such a great feeling to have work published :) Ohh my photography website is www.lcsphotographic.com

Fearnes Very Fashion

So this weeks style icon is Fearne Cotton, I have to admit in the beginning I didn't quite get what all the hype was about but she has really grown on me and has the staying power a lot of presenters and tv personalities lack in the UK. I also love her rocky edge and how she embraces and promotes the British Music scene and diversity is a good word to describe Ferne Cotton as she always seems to be working on a new products and expanding her interests and now has her own fashion line at Very.co.uk

Birthdays and are the Best days.

So it was Johns birthday the other day - and how I do love birthdays as it's the perfect excuse to go shopping and treat the one you love (as well as yourself). I know alot of people say it's hard for them to find there other half a present but for me it's never an issue, John is an avid collector of clothes and shoes, books and films and he is constantly telling me things he would love to own, I simply lock those ideas away for those special times of the year such as Christmas and Birthdays. So as I mentioned Mojo King before, the mod shop in Cardiff - and I love supporting independent shops especially in such a fragile economical climate, I decided to get him a Fred Perry summer shirt from there.

John in a Fred Perry summer shirt
Keeping on the Welsh theme he also got as pair of Meshpadrilles by Vera Shoes - Vera shoes where started by Welshman Neil Morris (former owner of Droogi). They are so well made and light and great for summer and if they made women's I would buy a pair - I love the colour as well.

So shoes and shirt done and just one more thing needed to complete a new outfit and that's a bag! I had been looking for a hold all for John for ages and we came across a Ralph Lauren one ages ago in House of Fraser and then never saw it again, but then the other day I was walking through boots and came across a really great bag with the new Polo scent and had to get it I am really impressed with the quality of it - well worth the £45.

So I always believe when treating others at whatever time of the year, be it Easter, New Years and someones engagement or birthday - you should not forget yourself and get something small to remind you that you yourself are special, So I have been wanting a decent strapless bra for a while and decided to go with Wonderbra Ultimate strapless from Lingerie Please which a lot of people have been raving about. Apparently it's dancing and jumping proof, stating "it stays up as long as you do". So a view of this product with follow soon to see who it copes with a whole day of active wear.

Hmm I love to collected images that I like and these make me feel full of dreamy summery days spent picking flowers and eating a picnic in the woods. I love hair accessories when done well and flowing materials that drape on the body.

Every now and then I just get the urge to cut my hair short - I have been growing it for a while but with summer here I just felt like I needed a change so when back to the short look. So my style icon for this week and my inspiration behind my short hair is Mia Farrow. She just seemed so natural and happy and that she was genuinely having fun.

So I am really happy with how my new haircut turned out - it makes me feel lighter and more summery. Since we don't have much of a summer here in the UK we try and make use of any good weather that comes our way to eat al fresco. I am a lover of Salads and John is a lover of BBQ and this combination goes together ohh so well.

Food, fashion and photos

So on the weekend we had a bit of a Roath discovery - since we are thinking of moving to the area we thought we would have a walk around and ofcourse go to one of my favourite places Milgi Art Bar (a place I never get board of). But first off all we stopped of The Gate Arts Centre which houses the Mad Hatter Cafe - a place I have been past so many times  but have never gone in. Well first off all it's in a beautiful church and it has a really cool art gallery and the food was amazing plus the really welcoming staff means I will be back for sure.

John opted for the non veggie Pancakes with bacon - I was told it was good.

After food we took a walk down Wellfield Rd which is fulled of unusual shops and you never know what you are going to stumble upon. John had been telling me about Mojo King for a while and was not disappointed when we went into this Mod Inspired Shop that stocks some really great brands like Fred Perry and Ben Sherman and P.S I wan this chair!!

Poka dots are back!

After a long walk and a visit to the Roath Farmers market we ended with the Milgi Bar...love it as always and thoroughly enjoyed their vegetarian share platter. I think the reason why I like this place so much is the ever changing art installations, it's canteen feel, the yurt in the garden and the fact that just because we have a baby we not discluded from this young and fun bar.

So last month I was involved with a group exhibition at Centrespace gallery in Bristol -I showed four photos in total and had a really great response. I have not finished my photography degree and I am looking for any type of commercial work so if your looking for a creative photographer have a look at my portfolio www.lcsphotographic.com

Sun is for wearing shades

I love summer because shades actually serve their real purpose - although I do believe it's a good time to where good shades anytime of the year. I am currently in love with my cheap Urban Outfitter round shades.

I am also currently in love with Ksubi sunglasses which I only just came across after paging through Grazia magazine - apparently it's an Australian higher end company...anyway I like :)
