A breath of fresh air

It's rare John and I have much a lone time during the day, as we are very hands on parents and daytimes usually include some sort of family adventure but this time we went to visit the grandparents, right at the top of the Welsh Valleys and while Mr A was enjoying playing with a new truck the grandparents had picked up for him and as well to allow for them to have some quality time with the little man, John and I decided it was such a lovely day we couldn't bear to waste it indoors, especially with the beautiful autumn shades and changes in the landscape.

John got to try out his new lightweight jacket by Post Overalls which he picked up a few weeks ago alongside his usual Edwin jeans. I took the shots above next to some Pagan stones, something I love about Wales is it's connection and history with nature and being able to stumble upon things like this.

I always find Autumn one of the most inspiring times of the year and love being outdoors during this season and watching all the leaves change from green to yellow, red and brown and seeing the last of the hedgerow fruits while acorns and conkers start to fall.

The day we took this walk, not quite two weeks, the weather was still fairly mild, something which I think we will only see again next year, that meant I could wear my little diesel denim chambray over a Nine West striped tee and my Doc Martens which are really durable and grippy and great for adventures on the spur of the moment as is my Kanken backpack

During our walk we came across a big unused factor space which has fallen into disrepair and is slowly being taken over by brambles, abandoned buildings always intrigue me, with all the windows bordered up, its a bit of a ghost town.

I just hope for a long Autumn and a fairly short and mild winter, I don't deal too well with the minus degree weather as we love long walks.

  4. I've just noticed you refer to john's picture as "bearded man". Funny. Lovely walk. It's nice to enjoy that time together. As the wee man gets older it gets easier to leave him with the grandparents and enjoy some time just us and you don't have to do much either.
