Street Style Sunday - New Hat

So this week is a little bit of a mens wear inspired post as we love to mix things up on the blog and John has a nice new winter hat that works so well with his Patagonia jacket it seemed like the perfect outfit post to share for this weeks Street Style Sunday. John has struggled to find a decent knitted hat this winter as a lot just don't seem to fit right, are to big or to long and he wanted something smaller and neater so when stylish folk at Fat Buddha Store , a menswear store based in Glasgow asked John to pick something it was a no brainer after seeing this cable knit Edwin Beanie. As some of you may already know Edwin are well know for there salvage denim jeans and neither of us had seen these hats before but they are perfect for keeping warm in winter. John wears Patagonia Jacket, Levis jumper, Universal Works Shirt, Edwin Jeans, Clarks Shoes, Edwin Beanie Hope you can come and join in with Street Style Sunday this week - you can link up with anything f......

Boys Club - what they wore

So I thought it was a bit long overdue for a little outfit post from the two boys (well one man and one boy) and with Mr A turning 4 he has become a lot more picky about what he wants to wear - in fact he won't wear anything he doesn't pick out of his wardrobe himself - this usually involves camo shorts and a very well worn dinosaur t-shirt but this time he went for a real pop of colour and thought I had to capture that. Last week we were lucky enough to be invited to an event with Ralph Lauren in aid of their new literacy collection with the book trust charity and it was amazing - I will be sharing this wonderful day out with you very soon but while we were there Mr A had the chance to model these red trousers and they basically have not come off since then. Mr A wears Cos striped tee, RL trousers, Clark shoes John and mr A have also been spending as much time outside on John's days off and before winter sets in, exploring the local parks and teaching Mr A how......

Johns new shirt and Introducing Haxby

John wearing Albam shirt, Edwin Jeans and Jack Purcell Converse So you may think John has a lot of shirts like this, in this shade, well apparently not (this is what I have been told) it's a different kind of fit with a rounder edge at the bottom and as he described it it's more of an a relaxed "artist" fit over that of a tailored shirt and it comes from one of his favourite brands - Albam. it's smart enough for work but also casual enough for a walk outside with the family and pairs up well with his Edwin Jeans and Jack Purcell Converse and Ralph striped socks. On Side Street Style we also love to showcase brands that we are currently loving and thought we would share our recent new find in menswear that is Haxby, which mainly focuses on denim but also has some interesting sunglasses, belts and shoes. Quality men’s wear is comprised of a few different characteristics. It must be durable and of high quality to meet all of the demands of the day......

Boys Club - New shoes

Mr A wears New Balance trainers, Mini Club jeans and a Field Life cardigan  So Mr A is very much into what he called "running shoes" at the moment and brighter the colour the better! Both John and I have been eyeing out some New Balance for ourselves lately and came across their kids range which is too cute, well anything that is basically a miniature of adults shoes in our minds is cute. With our Brussels trip and Mr A having gone up a shoe size lately we thought it would be a great time to buy some comfy trainers for a city trip which would involve a lot go walking. We did try to keep Mr A from wearing these until the trip but as soon as he saw them it was love at first sight and they have hardly left his feet since John wears - Ebbets Field Flannels cap, Post Overalls Jacket, Universal Works shirt and Edwin Jeans John also purchased himself a pre-travel accessory in the form of a Ebbets field flannels cap, a company that specialised in vintage authent......

His and Her outfit post

So last weekend we had a wonderful night away in beautiful bath (post to follow) and the rain pretty much held off for most of the time which meant we got to have a lovely walk around the city, through all the pretty streets, do a little window shopping and soak in the atmosphere. It was chilly but walking around keeps you warm and I wrapped up with some lovely cosy accessories such as my Etre gloves and knitted snood. John also stayed warm in his Barbour wax jacket paired with his Red Wings and Edwin salvage denim jeans - perfect for winter. I opted to wear my thick Fred Perry Pinafore dress with a Nine West tee underneath, Topshop boots, Fred Mello jacket and Paul Costello bag....

Swedish Style

So we thought we would get the New Year off to a bang by working on the house. We are in desperate need of more shelves in our new home as well as some coat hangers and such things, so off we went to Ikea for some inspiration. The great thing about Ikea is that it's super family friendly, it's the one place the little man doesn't get bored or start moaning about wanting to go home, with lots to interact with and no problems about him running around it takes the stress out of what would normal be a very boring shopping trip for a three year old. I really love the Swedish prints and textiles in Ikea so I decided to rock my floral printed shirt by Soul and my super comfy red cheeky shoes loafers. John wears - Edwin jeans, Folk Jacket, Grenson shoes, Saint James Jumper. Laura wears - Soul Shirt, Diesle jeans, Cheeky shoes loafers, Guess Watch John rocked his new Grenson brogues as well as a very warm Saint James striped jumper. We ended up picking up a few bits an......

Boys Club and Christmas Jumpers

So two weeks ago, prior to the storm, we managed to borrow a car and fancied a change in scenery so we took a drive to out Wale's sister capital - Swansea. We didn't really have a plan of what to do when we arrived but simply enjoyed having a little walk around the harbours and a look around the Waterfront Museum. It was a great day for the John and Mr A who had a lot of fun watching the different boats come in and out the harbour, jumping up on pillars and benches and getting up to his general cheeky ways. It also gave John a chance to take his latest jacket purchase by Post Overalls out and about, as well as Mr A giving his Converse, which was a birthday present from his uncle, a run around, although being white and with winter coming I am sure they are not going to look new for long. John wears - Post Overalls Jacket, Universal works shirt, Edwin Jeans - Mr A - Mountain Warehouse hoodie, Mini Club Jeans, Converse shoes It's always great exploring new places a......

A breath of fresh air

It's rare John and I have much a lone time during the day, as we are very hands on parents and daytimes usually include some sort of family adventure but this time we went to visit the grandparents, right at the top of the Welsh Valleys and while Mr A was enjoying playing with a new truck the grandparents had picked up for him and as well to allow for them to have some quality time with the little man, John and I decided it was such a lovely day we couldn't bear to waste it indoors, especially with the beautiful autumn shades and changes in the landscape. John wearing a Post Overall jacket with Edwin jeans and Purcell converse shoes John got to try out his new lightweight jacket by Post Overalls which he picked up a few weeks ago alongside his usual Edwin jeans. I took the shots above next to some Pagan stones, something I love about Wales is it's connection and history with nature and being able to stumble upon things like this. I always find Autumn on......

Boys Club - wild haired child

My wild haired child With being so busy lately with the MADS blog awards in London, two birthdays and various other things, we missed a week of Boys Club - Johns and Mr A's posts about what they are up to, wearing and loving at the moment, we were more than overdue an instalment. A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to attend the White Company opening in Cardiff (I did a review here) and we both really loved the children's wear and picked up two pieces for Mr A for his birthday and this was the first time he was out and about with his little Bulldog jumper. White Company is a bit pricey, although because we signed up to the mailing list we got 20% off making our two purchases more reasonable and since it was for a special occasion such as a birthday it's lovely to have such a beautifully made garment ready for the autumn season. Mr A wearing a White Company Jumper, M&S trousers and Clarks shoes Mr A photobombing John This week John is wearing so......
