Style Sunday - simple accessories

15/07/2013

Oh the bliss of summer sales and with hopefully a lot more sun to come, why not stock up on a few little bits and bobs to add a little oomph to your outfit. I am always one to re-use and re-style, simply because I have a strong ethos for ethical practise and one should not waste not want not, although even my collection of accessories can be exhausted and it's nice to add something new every now and then. As usual I am very much into my earthy, African, organic inspirations as the moment and here are a few of the things I am loving...

Braintree clothing - summer style

I recently came across Braintree, a lovely feel good fashion company that makes lovely, simple and stylish organic clothing and fair-trade jewellery. It was born in Sydney, Australia and is now located in London with a philosophy and designing and making timeless fashion while caring for the environment. Both of these pieces below are made in Kenya with recycled materials, love them...

Another one of my favourite companies - People Tree, are having a lovely little sale and I have been eyeing out this beautiful brass charm bracelet, not only because I think it's beautiful but because it has the personal resonance as it's had a little African charm - a perfect reminded of home country - South Africa. I also love this simple little Black teardrop ring and at only £6.40 I mean who wouldn't, I love simple statement rings.

When I did a lot of travel a few years back, I was lucky enough to live in the South of France for a while, near the Italian boarder and through my years of backpacking, working and being on the road I have passed through the stylish city of Milan twice and that is where the high end jewellery company - Ti Sento originate from. It has a real sense of luxury but at affordable prices and really captures the boho chic look I am loving at the moment. Shades of Time have a great selection of Ti Sento jewellery and I may need to pick up a little piece to remind me of my time on the French Rivera, seems like a world away now, such an beautiful place, cannot wait to go back with the whole family in tow.
