New Mum Chic and style inspiration

22/07/2013

So with all the Royal Baby fever and everyone going into overdrive about the whole thing, to be honest I don't keep up with much of that but it does make me reflect on my own pregnancy and the excitement about the arrival date, nervous with what to expect and the instant love you feel when you hold your newborn for the first time and enjoying breastfeeding successfully. As I followed a fairly healthy eating plan throughout my pregnancy and remained active I was lucky enough to be back into my size 8/10 jeans within 10 days - yes this can happen without any crazy diets, of course I still needed to firm up but it was strange suddenly being able to fit normal clothes after a few months of being in maternity wear. I felt after giving birth that my style and taste had changed a bit and found I wanted to wear clothes that were both practical but also on trend and still me. So I have put together some of my favourite looks from Style In View - which allows you to create looks in a super simple way. Please not this is NOT a sponsored link, I simply found it really fun to put together my look and wanted to share it with you...

My top tips for new mums when it comes to getting your pre-pregnacy style bag.

1. Wear tailored but not tight - it takes a while to get back to your pre-shape so be kind to your curves and don't wear anything to tight around the stomach but do wear clothes that are flattering to your shape.

2. You have been through a lot, treat yourself to some new staples and clothes that make you feel good.

3. Be practical, don't wear anything uncomfortable as you are going to be on the go with a newborn.

4. Go for classic styles and colours, you cannot go wrong with a denim chambray and a cute bag.
