Our holiday on the French Riviera with James Villas

birthday in the South of France

Before I had Mr A I spent a season working in Nice in the South of France and ever since then I have always wanted to return with the family in tow and show them what a beautiful part of the world it is, as well as explore more of the wonderful French Riviera, so what a better time than over my 30th birthday. We have all been feeling somewhat sun-starved of late and this week-long break in September to a warmer climate was just what we all needed, in fact I think it's been the longest Mr A has had spent in shorts and a t-shirt, which was really lovely to see.

Since having Mr A our preferences when it comes to travelling have obviously changed and we much prefer to stay in self-catering accommodation these days as it's so much more accommodating when it comes to families so we were over the moon to be able to stay in such a beautiful Villa from James Villas and with the easy driving distance to both Cannes and Nice as well as literally minutes away from the beautiful village of Valbonne. Waking up each morning with the sun shining through the curtains, a beautiful view and a sparkling pool it was like our own personal slice of paradise for a week.

holiday fun

After we arrived after a very relaxing high-speed train trip across France on the TGV from Paris to Cannes where we picked up our little Fiat 500 and off we went on our way to find the Villa. As soon as we drove up the the driveway we were welcomed by a lovely and very knowledgeable St James Villas representative which took us through the property. We didn't even have time to unpack and the two boys were in the pool - Mr A's favourite thing, literally every morning from 7am he wanted to be in the pool with John.

With the Villa being three bedrooms it meant I could spend my 30th with my family including my mother and brother which was wonderful and with it being so spacious with large entertainment areas it meant we all had our own space with lots of opportunity to come together and eat, enjoy good food and relax. I imagine this would also be perfect for a group of friends and with James Villas being part of Wyndham Vacation Rentals which is the worlds largest professionally managed vacation retails company which means you have loads of choice, even in the South of France there were multiple properties. It was also walking distance to Valbonne which was great for any essentials we needed and picking up some groceries for a family lunches we took out in the garden.

The location of the Villa was also perfect as it enabled us to have some amazing day trips including swimming in the sea in Antibes, climbing the Citadel in Nice, walking along the Boulevard in Cannes and exploring the winding streets of Valbonne and I cannot wait to share all of these day trips over the next few weeks with you so expect lots more adventures to come....

We were kindly invited to stay at James Villas, our thoughts and views are 100% our own - it really was awesome
