Come home to Cosy

beautiful baubles

With one week of December done and dusted we are now well on our way into the festive season and Advent fun and I don't know about your but we have completely embraced the festive spirit with lots of crafts, decorating and getting the house ready for the big day.

I honestly think that it lifts the soul bringing lots of colour into the home, especially during such a cold time of the year, plus with touches of nature in the form of a real tree, wreath or just little autumn and winter finds help create that homely feeling. With so much fun and excitement to be had I am happy to tell you about the interactive advent calendar full of goodies and inspiration that Carpetright currently have on their website, from tutorials to giveaways each day holds something a little different behind each door.

The wreath I made last year

When it comes to getting cosy I always have visions of a cold winter night with my boys cuddled up on the sofa, lovely thick throws and big mugs of hot chocolate while watching a Christmas classic, is there really anything better, I don't think so. We are however coming to the end of our snagging list with the house and I am starting to notice our floors are not exactly capturing the concept of cosy.

We are very lucky to have a large kitchen diner although having two very active children running round all day has meant the floor is looking somewhat worst for wear and could really do with being replaced in areas. We actually had our upstairs fitted with Carpet right when we moved in, it was one of the first jobs we did to the house and found the whole process from picking the carpet to measuring and then fitting was a very easy one. Now we are looking to do the same with some of the laminate in the kitchen and my opt to go with wood effect vinyl flooring as it looks realistic but is also anti-slip and stain resistant which is perfect for us when we come to sell the house.

Having beautiful floors makes such a difference to the home and allows you to focus on the smaller details, especially at this time of the year which means baubles on the tree. There is now so much choice, especially when it comes to the durable vinyl flooring and are having a hard time picking which realistic wood effect we are going to go for and whats better is they currently have 25% off all vinyl at the moment.

So what are the benefits of Vinyl flooring?

1. It's very hard wearing and affordable.

2. Ideal for kitchen and bathrooms although with so much choice you can find a style to suit any room and perfect for those with high traffic.

3. Very easy to clean and simple to install.

So for those developing a property or a family who wants something that is going to last a long time and not be to much travel to put in, as well as having tons of design options this may be the best choice for you.

Now going back to the Christmas and getting cosy - what have you been up to in the first week of advent? We have been to a Christmas fair, spent the day crafting with friends, picked up our tree and started decorating it, met Santa and went ice-skating and cannot wait for another action packed week, which I have a feeling is going to include lots of baked goodies. Also do remember to pop back each day over at the #ComeHomeToCosy advent to she what treat they have install for you today

  5. I'm not a fan of vinyl flooring although i do prefer it over laminate or wood. To me wood flooring doesn't have that warm feel to it like carpet does. Wood just feels cold and unwelcoming to me x
