A Parisian Adventure

02/10/2014

Well where to start? We managed to fit quite a lot into our 3 days in Paris before heading down to the South of France. I thought I would do an overview post of what we got up to with smaller more in-depth posts on our favourite things we did, including an amazing lunch on the left bank as an early 30th birthday present from John.

As soon as we stepped off the Eurostar into the city of lights and found our lovely little Airbnb apartment, which was conveniently located near the Seine river, we were out the door walking along the riverside on our way to the Notre Dame and the love lock bridge. It was a lovely warm evening and Mr A loved running past all the boats and taking in the inspiring scenery. We had heard of a good Falafel place near the Notre Dame but after wondering the little streets we settled for some fresh hand stretched pizza, a big chunky vegetable one, which was light and super tasty, I know it's not really typical French food but it was getting late so we went for the child friendly option.

The next day was spent exploring the Jardin Des Plantes which is a beautiful park with large sunflowers and corn growing as well as housing the Palaeontology Museum which was perfect for a dinosaur loving toddler and a place we will share with you in a separate post. We whizzed around the city on the Metro and RER, visited some vintage shops as well as Jardin Du Luxembourg before making our way over to the Eiffel tower as Mr A was intrigued by all the images of it over Paris so thought we really should go and see this famous landmark.

The morning we left to catch the TGV we had a little bit more time to run around some of the beautiful outdoor spaces Paris has to offer as well as pop into a bakery and pick up some yummy fresh baguettes for the train, before making our way down to our James Villas Villa with Wyndham Vacation Rentals. Oh Paris how we love you for you are such a beautiful place and very child friendly.

    1. We had a really good experience this time - the host was amazing, showed us everything we needed and than said if we had any problems just to call - the flat was clean, central and perfect for us. The first time though we stayed in a flat in Covent Garden and the fridge and bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly and all the bedding was wet (literally just washed and still in the washing machine) and with no tumble dryer and only very small electric heaters it meant only having dry bedding by 11pm that night - but otherwise an awesome flat

  5. Your photos are beautiful! I love Paris. I have only experienced it as a child friendly place going there twice as a child and once as an adult with three kids. In the future I'll go on a grown up trip there too! ;-) My mum loves it so much and is planning to return next year, meanwhile she is decorating her hall with a Paris theme to remind her. x

  10. Oh shoot! My previous comment waxing lyrical about my absolute love of Paris appears to have disappeared... Mon Dieu! Hopefully it'll materialise. Regardless, it's a truly enchanting place. I love the photos of your very own Petit Prince right beside the coolest bridge in the whole wide world. Tres belle!
