An ode to coffee & Giveaway

Artisan coffee
You can see from my instagram I have a weakness for coffee

So I can safely say that one of our vices in the house is coffee - for both John and I. It's something that is simply apart of our daily routine - wether having a latte out in town or at home having a chat over a cup or on a lazy sundays we get the cafeteria out and take the time to enjoy a slightly more special cup, it's something that breaks up the day, gives us a moment of reflection as well as being a lovely social activity.

The little man & I on one of our first baby chino dates 2 years back

John likes his strong with milk and because I have a minor heart condition that is worsen by caffeine I have been decaff (except of the odd cup when I need a real wake up) for the past 2 years, plus I don't do dairy - so yes i'm one of those annoying people who orders a decaff Soya Cappuccino when out on Babychino dates with the little man. I am a huge tea lover as well, in fact I have a whole cupboard dedicated to tea but there is something splendid about a good cup of freshly roasted beans - that smell, it's divine.

Flavoured coffee

Over christmas we tried out some amazing flavoured instant coffee from Beanies - and they were so yummy and really great if your looking for something a bit different, the wintery flavours went down a treat in our house and even though they were quite sweet, it meant you didn't have to add any sugar, which is great (I try not to anyway). It's really lovely having these in the house when friends pop over as it gives us a something little extra to offer and the Winter Warmer flavour is my favourite although I have just realised they are now stocking Very Vanilla and Irish Cream in Sainsbury's and have ground coffee for Cafeterias as well - so will be trying those out for sure!

dreamy kitchen

Since we have moved into the new house we have put together and wish list of things we would love to have and having a larger kitchen finally, I would love to have an Nespresso Machine - my mother has one and it adds another dimension again to coffee at home. I mean if I could produce lovely, creamy cappuccinos, lattes and such I would probably never leave home and I am sure I would save money on all the ones I pick up when I am out and about in town. It's firmly on our list of things to purchase and once we do then it's time to look for the capsules, which can be the expensive part, although you no longer just have to go with one brand - with some new and innovative Nespresso compatible capsule companies on the rise such as Gourmesso who stock an array of options from Bio & Fairtrade to Decaff, flavoured and single origin, you really are spoilt for choice, plus they are 30% cheaper than original Nespresso Capsuals - win win I say.

The great thing is Gourmesso have been kind enough to provide a giveaway of 2 boxes (20 capsules in each) to a lucky reader on Side Street Style - the flavour/intensity is up to the winner. You can view here to see all compatible coffee machines.

It's super easy to enter via rafflecopter and the competition will end on the 13th Feb
