Summer Activities

Here are a few great summer ideas to have memorable summer fun with those you love.

1. Backyard Barbeque

Throwing a backyard barbecue is a fun time had by all including vegetarians and vegans. Set up the grill, invite family, friends, and neighbors. Put some hamburgers, veggies, and hot dogs on the grill along with serving some simple snacks. As a pre-barbeque set-up, stock a cooler with ice for adult and kid-friendly drinks. In one cooler you have soft drinks, juices, and bottled water. In another cooler, you have cool summer drinks made with Monin Canada premium organic flavored or sugar-free syrup. A simple idea is to pre-mix the cool drinks so that you are not constantly leaving the grill to measure, mix and pour. To help inspire you, here is a Monin syrup drink recipe.

Tropical Passion Punch

1 1⁄4 oz. spiced rum
1⁄2 oz. Monin Kiwi Syrup
6 ml Monin Passion Fruit Concentrated Flavor
2 oz. orange juice
2 oz. club soda
Glass: 415 ml
Garnish with fruits like cherry, kiwi slices, or pineapple leaves or anything that takes your fancy

Instructions:

Combine ingredients in a shaker filled with ice cubes
Shake vigorously and pour into a glass
Top with a sparkling beverage
Serve and enjoy!

2. Hit The Road

Think about booking time at a summer retreat or campsite in on the coastline or the countryside or a national park. There are still plenty of budget-friendly and affordable options during the summer and you could think outside the box and experience a stay at a treehouse, bell tent, glamping pod of cool Airbnb studio.

3. Become A Tourist in your own town

Wherever you live, it is almost a guarantee that there are historical neighbourhoods you never visited. There may be a country park you have never seen, perhaps a cultural site that you have seen on TV but never thought about experiencing until this summer. Take a day and enjoy your local community sightseeing locations. Map out the tourist inspired sites that can be in the next town or a couple of hours away. Take in local outdoor markets, shop at unique boutiques and dine at street food. Either way, it is time to move and learn new things this summer.

4. Hit The Beach

Grab your SPF product, get a kiddie bucket and shovel, use large towels to spread out, pack the foldable chairs and umbrella, and head for the beach with the family. Modern beach sites pull out all the stops to get people to visit their sites. Take a mobile device to view videos, or read a book amid the beautiful white sand and the calming sounds from the lapping blue waves of the ocean.

5. Bring Your Hobby To Life

You have always enjoyed painting on canvas, or you have wanted to try the recipes you see on popular chef-inspired shows. What better time to fulfil your hobby dream than in the summer when you can open up the doors, windows, and invite in your inspiration. Step out onto your porch and learn to play a musical instrument like the guitar. After all, you have all summer. What is more rewarding and inspirational than to create or enhance your garden by planting vegetables to eat or flowers that will bloom.
