Let's shake it up
It might not be the hottest start to summer but it's not over yet and next months forecast is meant to bring the heat (fingers crossed) so we are going to make sure to make the most of it and enjoy each and every day day to the maximum. We plan to have as many picnics, bbq's and al fresco feasts and with any such event having a refreshing drink to accompany good food is a must. So when thebar.com asked us to be apart of their Shake it Up movement we couldn't say now and as soon as we had a mild night earlier this month John and I whipped out the Gin and Captain Morgans for a spot of delicious summer inspired cocktails that are super easy to make and taste great as well. Summer is a time to kick back and rejoice in the good times, break free from tradition and try something new so why just stick with beer or wine and throw caution to the wind and have a hand a making some cocktails? You don't need to be a master mixologist to whip up something tasty and im......

Afternoon Tea with a G&T twist
Like most people we love to indulge in our sweet tooth every now and then and who doesn't love a classic afternoon tea with homemade scones, dainty cakes and delightful creations? As we move into summer our thoughts also wander to those of another British classic that is sipping a G&T over a lazy lunch in the sun, so when Park Plaza invited us to try out their special Hendricks G&T afternoon tea it seemed like the perfect combination and we couldn't wait to see what it was all about. When we sat down our table had been laid out with Hendricks teacups and teapot filled with a cocktail of Hendricks Gin, Elderflower Liqueur, Maraschino Liqueur, lemon juice and soda and I have to say it was one of the most delicious cocktails we have had in a longtime, so refreshing! Next came the three-tier afternoon tea, starting off with finger sandwiches and freshly baked warm sultana scones. Then an assortment of cakes and pastries which were so beautiful I almost......

Wahaca Cardiff - Spicy food stylish interior
We were over the moon to hear that the Mexican Street Style food chain Wahaca was coming to Cardiff - it's first restaurant outside of London. Located in St Davids Two, the first things you notice when walking in is the large open space, high ceiling and hanging lights, stylish seating area and welcoming atmosphere. When we got there the place really felt alive, with lots of happy customers, tables of friends and families enjoying what was on offer and lots of colour and intriguing smells, we couldn't wait to be seated and have a chance to look at their menu. To start we shared the Guacamole with baked Tortilla chips, which I highly recommend as it was creamy and smooth with a hint of chilli and the presentation was also very pleasing to the eye. I also decided to treat myself to a non-alcoholic Mocktail in the form of the delicious Virgin Mojito which I know I will be ordering next time we are there. When it came to mains John went for Wahaca Street Food sel......
