5 things to consider when purchasing a kids' swimming robe

As a parent, whenever we choose children’s clothing, it needs to be about comfort, safety, and practicality as much as style and I know first hand if my kids are not comfortable, they simply won't wear something. Kids are active and constantly on the move, and that means their clothes need to be durable and flexible enough to handle playtime, while still being soft and comfortable on their sensitive skin. Finding the right balance is the key to keeping the youngsters happy and delivering excellent value for money. A kids swimming robe is an excellent case in point, to ensure their little ones can move freely without irritation, with the choice being extremely important. After swimming sessions, whether at a pool, beach, or during lessons, a robe provides a protective layer that keeps children warm and comfortable, helping to maintain body temperature, especially after coming out of the water.  Here are 5 things to consider before purchasing a kid’s swimming robe. 1. A robe made fr......

Tips on mental wellness and stress reduction for professionals

We all know how important it is to stay on top of our mental health and try to create a life that isn't constantly filled with stress, whether we do this through lifestyle changes, exercise, and mental wellness activities in the aim to help balance our highly active and depleting lifestyles. In my experience, society as it stands doesn’t seem to care too much about improving mental health in a proactive way, only identifying it when it is considered toxic.  So we often have to take things into our own hands and ensure to find a balance that works and which includes making sure we take a break every now and then. I am not talking about a working vacation or brief getaway that is too short to be anything but symbolic but a proper break from it all when finances allow. We need real time to decompress and let the world wash out of our thoughts. To remain resilient in the workplace, in public, at home and when parenting, we need time away from the constant pressure of life.  Discon......

The Best kind of Nature inspired Escapes

A week or two spent in nature can be a great antidote for the stress that comes with life in a big city. Being surrounded by awesome scenery, plants, and animals can make a holiday truly memorable. But there are many different kinds of holidays that offer exactly this – and it might not be obvious which of them makes the best match for your needs. Coastal Retreats: Luxury Villas by the Sea Of course, it’s difficult to beat the allure of the sea especially as many of us feel a sense of calm and relaxation when spending time along the coastline. Pick the right coastal location, and you’ll be able to enjoy opportunities for watersports, the freshest possible seafood, and the constant sound of waves lapping at the shore. There are plenty of European destinations that offer all of these things, from the Amalfi Coast in Italy to the Balearic Islands in Spain. For best results, you’ll want to pick the right accommodation. This is where beachfront villas in Spain tend to be so appealing. Pick......

Bournemouth Beach - The perfect family day out

Collaborative Post  On the way back from our trip to Guernsey in the Channel Islands, we arrived late into Poole Ferry Port (around midnight) so there was no way we were going to head back to Cardiff that night and instead checked into a Travelodge in Poole although there are plenty of hotels in Bournemouth and decided to extend our holiday by one more day and explore a part of the coast we hadn't really been to before. I had heard really good things about Bournemouth and it's been somewhere I have wanted to take the kids for a while so this was a great opportunity to do just that.  As soon as we got to our hotel we headed straight to bed as it had been a very long day and woke up ready to explore. As Poole is only a 20 min drive from Bournemouth it seemed like it was going to be a pretty easy place to get too but what we hadn't taken into account was it being a Bank Holiday Friday and not just any Bank Holiday but one with glorious warm and sunny weather so......

8 things to do before a Family trip to a hot destination

* Contains Affiliate links As we head towards summer many people are planning family trips abroad to warm and sunny destinations, travelling overseas is something we all look forward too, visiting beautiful countries such as Spain or Italy and enjoying fascinating cultures and people. However while this comes with a lot of excitement there are also some essential preparations we need to take to ensure everyone stays safe, healthy and has a good time. I thought I would share eight critical things that you and your family can do to prepare for a holiday in the sun.    1. Pack loose-fitting clothes Yes I know many pack outfits and styles for a breakaway (Instagram pictures come to mind) but do make sure you also take some practical and loose fitting clothes that help keep you cool and help you from overheating and feeling the effect of the heat, this is especially important for young children who just want to be comfortable and run around.  2. Pack ext......

A winter weekend guide to Tenby

Every year during the winter we head off to Tenby for no other reason than to slow down, enjoy the moment and step away from things like social media for a few days and just enjoy the simple pleasures that are abundant in this beautiful West Wales costal town. We purposely go off peak because this small village becomes incredibly busy during the summer months but in stark contrast can be the perfect slow and mindful weekend staycation at other times of the year, which is why we keep going back. If you are not familiar with Tenby it's a pretty harbour town on the Pembrokeshire Coast and is famous for it's colourful houses that line the shore as well as the boats that sail from the harbour to Caldey Island which houses a working Monastery. Tenby is also steeped in history with the earliest recording of a settlement there from the 9th century with various remains from past years left behind such as stone-wall fortification on Castle Hill, 13th century medieval town walls ......

Body Positivity in motherhood

Body Positivity - the hot word right now and for the right reasons although I often feel people get little confused about what it means and feel it only fits to one section of society or is an excuse for women to wear inappropriately short shorts which simply isn't the case and it's something that can really affect us all. Body positivity isn't about size it's about how you feel in your body wether you are petite, normal or plus size and what bothers one person about their body will not be the same for others but that shouldn't devalue their feelings. For a long time for us ladies (of course men are also included in this) the media have sold what an ideal women is and that just isn't reality in fact the typical 6ft size 6 model is very much the exception and not the rule and that has left us all feeling inadequate when it comes to how we think we should look and society perceives us. Before I had children I didn't have that many hang ups, okay I was......

Having studied in Falmouth a decade ago I had visit St Ives a few times before but of course it had been many years since I've been back so I was really excited to return, this time with my kids in tow to create some new memories and show them one of my favourite parts of the UK. Being someone who is passionate about staycations and discovering what is on your doorstep, places like St Ives are perfect for a family break away as the weather does tend to be better the more south you go and with so much to see makes it a great option and I thought I would share 5 reasons why it should be on your bucket list. 1.
