Letting the light in the right way

Natural light is something we all crave, it's proven that sunshine makes us feel happier so making sure you have good quality windows that allow this light to flow into your home and your life is pretty important and can be something we unintentional overlook, especially during the warmer months when under-par and inefficient windows go more unnoticed than that of the colder months when your trying to keep a draft out. I know personally I am always sold by a property that has stunning windows, in fact I dream of having a home with floor to ceiling windows or a bay fronted Victorian with shutters or a Georgian house with large sash windows. I am all about keeping the character in properties so if the windows need to be replaced it needs to be done with care and attention as not to take the character and charisma away. Scents in the home and giveaway

A most of you know I love fresh flowers in the house but of course I am not Elton John and cannot afford fresh flowers twice a week, once a month is a treat for us. My favourite thing is the scent they bring into a room, there is nothing better than a beautiful scented home, not overpowering (thats not good either) but a lightly fragranced room can be a lovely thing, so when Air Wick asked me to review a few of their products I couldn't wait to see how they would fair. First of all we have been doing a lot of painting in our living room and wanted to perk it up with something pretty so decided to try out the Colours of Nature Reed Diffuser , I am always a little nervous when it comes to reed diffusers as they can sometimes be to strong but this really is nice and light and I love the Purple Blackberry Fig scent. Boys Club - a new jacket

John wears Alban Jeans, Ralph Lauren Tee, Joe Browns Blazer, Superga Shoes It's all shades of blue this week with salvage denim in the from of Albam jeans with a Ralph Lauren striped tee but with the sun is starting to come out and the heavy winter jackets are now being replaced by lighter ones such as this laid back blazer from Joe Brown to create a casual, practical but also on trend look. As with everything John wears he likes the small detail and the use of red stitching in the jacket around the button eyelets. Joe Browns is not a label John knew of before after being sent this jacket by their lovely team it has really sparked his interest. Let in the light

My cute little owl lamp  So as many of you may already know we only moved into our new house in December and with an active toddler running around that has meant our unpacking and organising has been slower than usual. There are pockets of the house we are making some progress with and even though John has been ill for the past few days he mustered up enough energy to final put our large mirror up in the lounge. We still need to add a lot more homely touches but it's nice to finally see some small part start to come together. The painted sideboard will in a few days I am sure be covered in various books and whatnot but for a moment it's tidy, along with my new lovely little owl lamp from The Range , which is too cute With so much painting and redecorating, gardening to do on top of a hectic work schedule this little accomplishment seemed like a lot this weekend.
