As you may already know 2017 is the year that we as a family are striving to become far more conscious about what we purchase and bring into the home. We are leaning towards the rapidly popular minimalist movement and have set myself a minimalist challenge but there are still things you simply cannot go without and being the parents to two healthy growing young boys we know how important it is that when it comes to choosing clothes that are going to last an be worth the money we have to part with. As adults we at times sacrifice comfort for style but when it comes to children you simply can’t do that as comfort means they are more likely going to be happy with what they are wearing and if they uncomfortable it simply won’t work and being a parent of two very out-going kids I can vouch for that. We have made the mistake of doing this in the past and it’s surprising how sensitive kids can be when it comes to how something is tailored or cut, even down to socks and vests, both ......

Wild and Free lately
A few weeks ago we got sent an amazing Den Kit from Wild and Wonderfu l and Mr A was over the moon as he is counting down the days to when he will be old enough to join Beavers and start his Scouting journey, although over the past few weeks at one point or another at least two of us have been under the weather which has made our normal ventures a little bit trickier than usual. It seemed like we were all on the mend and enjoyed a short break in the countryside of Sussex but on our return it was clear both boys had bad coughs and I was coming down with something, luckily we are all remerging again fit and healthy. We plan to take this kit up the forest for a winter warming activity alongside a flask of hot chocolate and now that we are on the mend hopefully we can do this very soon. John and Mr A however have done a little dry run in the garden which they both really enjoyed especially as the kit includes camo face paint and a camping mug for a warming drink. We all ......

Looking to the future
Well you know what they say once you have children your life will change forever and there really is no truer saying. Before John and I started a family we pretty much only thought about ourselves, not in a selfish way but just in the way that twenty somethings with no real responsibilities do but the day I found out I was pregnant with Mr A that way of thinking immediately changed. Suddenly your responsible for another persons life and future which it's a pretty daunting prospect. One of the first things I did when I had Mr A was get a life insurance policy, just incase anything should happen and that way he would at least have something to help him out when he comes of age. I also started looking at ways to save and invest my money and be able to build up some kind of nest egg should he want to go to University or travel or simply to go towards a car or deposit on a house as in the past I have had some help from my parents and would love to be able to do the same for the bo......

Catapult clothing giveaway
Mr A rocking an Epic Catapult tee We love nothing more than supporting and featuring small independent British clothing on the blog so when the lovely people at Catapult clothing got in touch we couldn't wait to hear what it was all about, especially since there seems to be a lack of decent boys clothing that encourages adventure and fun. The company was only started last year, by two London mums who have 6 boys between them and together they have rolled out 5 limited edition t-shirts with more designs and hoodies in the pipeline. The t-shirts are bright, fun and simple in design and range from 5-12yrs old - perfect for the outdoor loving boy and best of all is I am going to be giving away a t-shirt of their choice to one lucky reader - it's super simple to enter a Rafflecopter giveaway ...

Home and style at Christmas
So we have a new home and this is our first Christmas in it which has been very exciting. Everything was somewhat of a rush, having only moved in less than 3 weeks ago but we managed to get our tree up, decorated the house, make a gingerbread house and some homemade gingerbread cookie gift tags and get a very excited little toddler to sleep in time for the big day. It was a magical morning spent opening our stockings and gifts, we opted for less is more and picked some lovely natural toys for the little man. We had a champagne breakfast, which always goes down well especially on a lazy chilled out morning before walking over to spend the day at Mr A's grandmothers house. I have also been keeping my beautiful East jumper aside for a special occasion and there is none more special than christmas day, I think my lovely doggy jumper beats any novelty one and captures winter and the Christmas feel while still being stylish and warm. I feel like such a lucky girl as John sur......

The White Company comes to Cardiff
If you love unique and crisp interiors, beautiful pillows and sheets, or wonderfully chic and stylish clothing than you have probably heard of The White Company , a luxury interior and fashion brand. So I was really excited to hear they were coming to Cardiff, it's great for a small city like Cardiff to have a good mix of high street, independent, thrift and designer stores, so when a high quality brand such as The White Company moves in to St Davids 2 it's always a welcoming sight. We were really excited to be invited to the pre-opening and have a little preview of what is too come from this luxury brand. When we arrived there was a really buzz to the place with everything laid out beautifully and with Jamie's Italian catering the evening the food was wonderful, John was an immediate fan of the squid as was I of the polenta chips, paired with champagne and a live string quartet it really was an evening with a difference. Stuffed sweet peppers, so good ......

Boys Club - Create your own
Mr A in his Create your own Polo When we went to London in July we had the chance to pop into the Ralph Lauren Store on bond street which offer The Create your Own Polo experience in-store, a really unique concept where you can design your own polo and make something truly unique, a great present for the other half. The lapel options and lettering of the Create Your own Polo John loved the idea as you can pick what fit and finish you want, big or small pony, custom embroidery and placement and of course colour and finish. The process usually takes around an hour in-store but due to being on a time limit we decided to finish John and the little mans order online, which may I say is easy and efficient and something I am going to be locking away for Birthdays and Christmas's to come. The Create your Own experience in Ralph Lauren, London We thought it would be a great keepsake for both Mr A and John and we may even make it a yearly thing, as it would be gr......
