Muddy Adventures

Despite all the rain we have had a few moments of not only dry but also glimpses of the sun, if one for a few minutes. We have tried to make the most of every day and have had some lovely adventures this week to the Common and Roath Park, as well playing in our garden and making plans for planting our vegetables - the time is fast approaching to get everything ready. With all the rain comes a lot of mud - and what child does not like squelching and jumping in mud! I know I love to. We have also started to see a few first signs of spring with some daffodils starting to shoot up slowly and we even came across a few daisy's yesterday. Of course winter is still prevalent and discovered some amazing Holly bushes on our walk up a local common space. The Birthday post - Part 1

So it's been a super busy week - as it's been birthday time all round in our house - with Mr A and I only a week apart. Mine is first and since having Arthur mine seems somewhat less important as I am running around like a mad person trying to sort out his party. John always surprises me with something to wear and I was not disappointed with my new Joules winter jacket with beautiful floral lining. He also booked me in for a haircut, which I really needed. My mother gave me a vintage leather bag that she picked up on a  recent holiday to Italy and I absolutely love it. Wearing - Joules jacket, Forever Tee, Vintage bag, Topshop trousers, Dozzy and Dee brogues  Even though I have still be under the weather John and I finally got to spend some quality time together - we had an amazing veggie meal at one of my favourite places in Cardiff - Milgi Bar - who also happen to make super tasty cocktails. Creative Parents Food Guide to Cardiff

So this is part of a series of suggestions for the creative, out-going, arty, fun parents who live in Cardiff and the surrounding areas who are looking for stylish places that are also family-friendly. Food, fashion and photos

 So on the weekend we had a bit of a Roath discovery - since we are thinking of moving to the area we thought we would have a walk around and ofcourse go to one of my favourite places Milgi Art Bar (a place I never get board of). But first off all we stopped of The Gate Arts Centre which houses the Mad Hatter Cafe - a place I have been past so many times  but have never gone in. Well first off all it's in a beautiful church and it has a really cool art gallery and the food was amazing plus the really welcoming staff means I will be back for sure. Summer, too soon to end

Well, everything does take longer than you think, alas my laptop is still amiss but the computer tech guy assured me it would be fixed by this Friday. So the one thing that does not seem to take long enough is the summer in the UK. This summer hasn't been bad but it could have been filled with more long warm nights and clear blue skies and it seems to be nearly over all to quick. So here are some photos from last weekend, which was actually warm enough to wear shorts and a dress - one of too few days. It was one of those days in the city when you think "why don't I do this more often", a long stroll in Bute Park, coming across a little summer cafe with soft serve ice cream, then followed by a yummy bean burger in Milgi Art Bar with some iced Elderflower presse....perfect combination for the soul.
