Gratitude List and Life Lately

Life has been really busy lately and I have to say I struggled to keep up over the summer holidays. Between my blog, YT channel and social media work I do it pretty much takes the same amount of hours as a full-time job which isn't surprising as between it all I make the same as if I was working in my old full time job, yet because I work from home and as a freelancer it means childcare goes out the window over summer holidays and I revert back to being full time mum. I am not complaining at all but it does mean having to slow everything down and adjusting to having minimal working hours. I'm still in a way getting back into routine and shifting through 6 weeks of emails and while stress is creeping in, especially as it's my eldest birthday this weekend and well thats a whole other thing to organise on top of everything else I feel it's really good to reflect back on all the positives and be grateful even when your trying to juggle everything. We had a really fa......

Creating an Instagram Feed you Love

With just under 5000 followers on my Instagram I don't have the biggest following and thats okay because I am sure it will come with time as my main focus has certainly shifted away from numbers and statistics and more towards creating a space and a feed that truly reflects my life as well as something I am happy with, that makes me smile and is a visually interesting daily diary that I can look back on in years to come. I think when it comes to IG there are certainly two camps which have formed, those who try and play the algorithm game regardless (at times) of creating beautiful original content and those who are more interested in organic engagement, neither is "right" and it's okay to be in the middle, at the end of the day it is a marketing tool to some so taking a little time to create balance between both especially if it is connected to your work or livelihood is important but don't forget its not just a place for numbers but also for inspiration. ......

The Happy Now

So every month or so I like to go back through my instagram and pick out a few of our favourite memories, the days or moments that made us smile. As they say one picture can mean a thousand words and I think that is so true. 1. We discovered a secret picnic spot and garden near Cardiff which the boys love, it's full of amazing flowers and is lovely and quiet. 2. Reflecting on one of our favourite pieces in the house - this wooden peace sign was the first thing John and I bought together before having kids, for a house that would become a home. 3. We spent a beautiful sunny day strolling around the streets of the Welsh market town -Brecon. We also enjoyed a gentle paddle boat trip down the river Usk. 4. We have been trying to make small green and ethical changes to our lifestyle so I picked up this Keep Cup which is a barista quality glass coffee cup to use on the go, instead of using non-recyclable cups from high-street coffee shops. 5. We finally found time to check ou......

4 Interior Inspired IG accounts you need to follow

Like most of those who spend time online I find instagram a place of daily inspiration and I find personally I often tend to follower smaller lesser know IG accounts than the big ones and thought I would share a few of my favourite interior and lifestyle inspired IG accounts that have beautiful feeds  to get your creative juices flowing. 1. Roostblog - a collaborative interiors and chic family lifestyle IG account which has only recently launch but already I am loving their daily curated feed which offers up stylish living on a plate. 2. Wild and Grizzly  - Lori is one cool mama with a real eye for design. Her feed is full of colour, Scandi love and coffee 3. Don't Cramp My Style - Anna is an interior and lifestyle blogger from Manchester and her love for soft pastel shades of pink and purple show through in her lovely feed. 4. Little Wood Life - Emma lives in a stunning home in Northern Ireland with her equally beautiful children and impeccable taste for interi......

A little Instalife

Every couple of weeks or so I love to go through my instagram feed and reflect on what we have been up to, it's serves as a mini diary and also occasionally when I feel we have not been up to much it actually shows me how those little moments captured are the best and even though life seems to be  on a conveyer belt at the moment with weaning, changing nappies, night feeds and teaching a 5yr old to read we have managed to fit a whole lot of fun into our life lately. 1. During my pregnancy I slightly over-indulged, something which I have never really allowed myself to do before, it was fun while it lasted but I know I feel better when I am kind to myself so starting the day with a bowl of low sugar nutty Granola, Greek yogurt and some fresh raspberries 2. Soaking up there last of the summer sun 3. Baby G is very mobile these days, crawling everywhere at hyper speed, pulling himself up onto everything and shuffling around the couch, he is little early doing these things whi......
