Veggie delight with chunky chips at Milgi Bar in Cardiff Ever since the sixteenth century, the British have had a very close relationship with the humble potato and it isn’t hard to see why. If it isn’t down to the fact that potatoes are a good source of potassium, vitamin C and fibre or that they are so affordable, it must be down to the fact that they are so simple to cook and so versatile. Mashed potato Everybody has their own favourite way of cooking mashed potatoes. The addition of a thick dollop of real butter and some full fat milk creates a devilishly creamy texture and taste that compliments anything from steak to sausages, tofu or pie. For some people the quest for the perfect mash is an art – for others it is a science. Homemade Wedges go down really well with the little man The chip and Wedges Any real chip connoisseur will tell you that the limp shoelace chips served in your local late night kebab shop is an abomination to the potato. Date night and making do outfit
So being a thrifty person I throw very little away, especially when they have seen me through a lot. I love these Levi jeans although the shape of them has changed - they are skinnies but now are far looser on than originally - this is due to the fact I wore them till I was about 35 weeks pregnant and managed to stretch the denim but in a way it has almost created a boyfriend type jean. My new ribbon Boden necklace and John wearing his new Clarks loafers next to my ancient pair of wedges The shoes I have also had for years and are fairly classic - the wedge is not too high but adds a little bit of lift and they are comfortable and well made although they are starting to show their age but I don't mind, to me they are shoes with character. I managed to pick this HM draped vest top up for a real deal - a few pounds and I love my little ribbon tie Boden necklace. I've linked this outfit post up with Style Elixer , Whatever Whenever Wednesday , What I wore Wednesday......

McQueen and Westwood a British Affair
With so many reasons to celebrate what is great about Britain, whether is be the Jubilee, Wimbledon or the Olympics, it's been hard not to get into the swing of things with bunting hanging in every kitchen and cream tea's back on the menu. It's made me think about the amazing home-grown fashion designers this country has produced over the past few years. With two of my all time favourites being Vivienne Westwood and the late Alexander McQueen , if only I could wake up tomorrow with an array of bags and clothes in my wardrobe by these two iconic designers I would be a very happy girl. It's hard not to love these two designers who take there influence from the British Punk movement and if you like me love stud’s, blacks, prints and anything rock and roll they are ones to check out. I have for many years lusted over the Alexander McQueen knuckle duster clutch and one day I will hopefully own one, even though I am a very minimalist person in myself I believe in inve......

Chloe Green Does Shoes
So some may know here as a character from Made in Chelsea, others as the daughter of Top Shop boss Sir Philip Green, but now she is making her own name in the world of shoe design as she unveils her very stylish and bold shoe line, available at TopShop . When I first heard that she was going to be doing a shoe line I was not filled with excitement but since seeing the line I am impressed with the uniqueness and creativity of the collection, which has oversized heels and wedges. I know this line has divided some critics with some saying they are ugly, but I feel like they are something new, bold and not for everyone, which is what fashion should be. Chloe Green herself is not conventional and I like that they have used here in the advertising instead of a stick thin perfect model, it's a bit of difficult situation being apart of reality show and then trying to be taken seriously in other aspects and I think one should look simply at the product and I find them catchy and interesting......

A vintage highstreet crossover
I love to mix up new and old together and I never get bored of a boyfriend blazer. So here is my vintage and highstreet crossover outfit post, inspired by the catwalk for cause show I attended a few weeks ago. I am also really getting into ethical fashion and Bags of change are a great option for well made and durable totes from organic cotton, I picked mine up from a fayre at the Norwegian Church/Museum in Cardiff about 2years ago and use it all the time. Wearing a Vintage Braemar velvet jacket, M&S white tee, Next skinny jeans, H&M wedges, Bags of Change tote, House of Fraser necklace. ...

Sharing the love Saturday
So I am really really sad not to be at London Fashion Week this week - its the first time in a few years I have not attended, but working freelance sometimes means it's hard to get the time off. But I have booked the whole week free for Sept Fashion Week (which I am really looking forward too) although next weekend Canon Calumet have invited me to work as a press photographer for London Fashion Weekend, so I suppose it's not the same but equally fun :). But in the same vein in London Fashion week - once of the most popular shows last year was TopShops - full of fun and stars adorning the front row. So here is my current Topshop fave looks and they really are mixing it up and taking risks this season. How cute is this outfit!! Love this! Also quite a few of my favourite bloggers and friends are at LFW and would like to highlight the ever stylish Fashion Pearls of Wisdom . She has such an amazing closet of beautiful and interesting clothes and is so orgin......

Weekend Inspiration
Ahh you know when you dream of what you will be when you grow up or things you would like to do...where you see yourself living..well here are three things I am thinking needs to happen at some point...like living in a house boat, with lots of flower pots (there is a houseboat in Bristol that has my name on it!!) While living on a houseboat I would still however need some wheels so besides a bicycle (which is a given) I have to get my hands on a Morris traveller...what a beautiful van. I love road trips and this would be perfect. I once drove from the West Coast of Scotland (Mallaig) to Lands End in Cornwall, where I camped beside's beaches and surfed a lot (most do a retrospective blog post about it sometime) in a banged up Corsa combo van that has a flower sticker on the front and a single mattress in the back...so too me this little Morris would be pure luxury and stylish at that. One more thing to complete the dream would be a little french bulldog......we hope ......
