Forest School Adventures

So last friday we had a mini road trip to Bristol, which to be fair is only 45 minutes away and we love popping over to that side of the bridge especially for something as fun as a morning spent in the forest with some other lovely bloggers and Wild Foresters the organisers of the Halloween themed Forest school morning. The venue - Wraxell Piece Woodland can be quite tricky to find and it did take a few people a while to get there but once we had all arrived it was only a short work to the little outdoor classroom which already had a small campfire going. The children were then handed some sheets with various objects to find such as sticks, pumpkin colour leafs, twigs etc and Mr A really enjoyed this mini challenge before having some biscuits and marshmallows around the fire. Street Sunday Style: The Kids Edition

The very stylish Victoria from The Owl and Accordion   Hi, Vicky here! Laura’s off on a little break, so I’m helping to fill in while she’s away – today I’m bringing a good dose of colour and pattern to Side Street Style with my usual Sunday Style post, and this week it’s all about the kids. Autumn is pretty much here already; although the weather is still good in our part of the country (no winter coats coming out of the cupboard just yet!), the leaves are starting to turn and there’s a definite chill in the air in the morning. A new season is a great excuse to grab a few new pieces for the kiddos, and there are some great things about at the moment; I’ve been loving the Donna Wilson for John Lewis range (there were some great sewing accessories and tote bags for adults, but that’s another post!), and Tootsa MacGinty have produced some amazing tops and jumpers which are all completely gender free and happily unisex as usual. When Wilf came to play

Our highlight of the last week has to be when the lovely Fritha from TigerLillyQuinn and her adorable son Wilf hopped on the train from Bristol and made there way to Cardiff, where we met up with them for a lovely day spent mainly in the part as well as a pit stop in the museum. Mr A met Wilf early in the year when we travelled together to London for an event and he was really excited to see him again. Even though there is more than a year age gap the two boys get on with each other so well and is really was so blissful to watch them play, laugh and enjoy each others company. Before lunch Mr A and I were keen to show Wilf one of our favourite spots - the Cardiff Museum, which has a small dinosaur exhibition, which I forgot how scary it could be for a two and half year old so we quickly moved onto the natural history section as well as a lovely little kids core room which provides the perfect chill out area. Celebrating family in the home

I love an array of different sized frames to display family portraits ( image ) Capturing the special moments in life and the people you love has always ranked highly on my favourite past times, time flies so quickly especially when you have children and if you blink they look older than they did the day before so collecting a few beautiful portraits and moments is an important way to document your life together. What a lot of people forget is how lovely these images can be hung up in the home and while we are still working on our house by simply framing and hanging our favourite moments can transform a once boring room into something special and really makes a house a home. Airwick National Parks

A casual look for a trip back to the big smoke So literally a few days after we came back from our short family break in London the little man and I were off again, on the fast train back to the big smoke. This time however we had company in the form of the lovely and creative blogger Fritha from Tigerlilly Quinn and her son Wilf who we met at Bristol Templed Meads. It was really nice for the little man to have some company and it took the stress off us having to keep them entertained as they played and laughed together most of the way there.
