Whether you are planning a beach break, heading somewhere exotic or simply enjoying the beautiful coastline we have here in the UK, then there are a few fun and summery style accessories that will help you embrace that summer mood especially as it always flies by faster than we expect, so enjoy the sunshine and warm temperates as much as possible while is here. When it comes to fashion accessories, now is the time for playfulness, colour and fun and while I feel it's important for some accessories to be practical, it's also about adding that little bit of joy into your daily look and feeling good about yourself in the process. 1. 90's style sunglasses 90's sunglasses, in fact 90's fashion as a whole is experiencing a revival, and I for one am here for it. I loved being a teen in the 90's so seeing it resurface in current trends makes me very happy. The iconic sunglasses styles, such as tinted lenses, small oval shades and rectangular frames, are all back and p......

4 fun summer fashion accessories
*This post contains affiliate links As the world is slowly starting to find some sense of normality more and more people are travelling, both locally and abroad and staying healthy is more important than ever right now. While most people will pack a small first aid kit and sun cream to keep our skin protected, we sometimes overlook our eyes, which are so important as well as a decent bucket hat which will provide shade both for your face but also your eyes, especially if you are going somewhere hot. Good travel always requires a level of planning, and forgetting to pack something will either lead to having to purchase a replacement or simply going without. One item you will need when travelling anywhere is a good pair of polarized sunglasses, and there are some great travel designs, with foldable sunglasses that can safely be stored away until you need them. Essential UV Protection The most important aspect of sunglasses is without doubt UV protection, and while some c......

Summer Ready with Serengeti
After having a little preview to summer over the past few weeks with a couple of warm and sunny days it certainly means the summer clothes, shorts and dresses are coming out and I am really looking forward to a hot summer (fingers crossed). What I love about summer is simplifying things, not having to wear layers and accessorising any outfit with some sandals, summer hats and stylish sunglasses - put all of those things together and you have the holiday summer look down wether your travelling abroad or staying closer to home. I recently picked up this upcycled Ralph Lauren shirt which has been turned into a dress from Topshop reclaim collection which gives life back to vintage clothes in a fun and modern way, it's also a really ethical choice and I love that most of the collection pieces are one-offs. I have paired it up with my Docs and these stylish black Serengeti Sunglasses . I was offered these sunglasses from Discounted Sunglasses which offers a range of designe......

Eye of the beholder
Wow it's been a bit of a manic week after an exciting Fathers Day last weekend and getting ready for a little adventure in London this weekend, time has just flown by but I did manage to pop into town and visited on go my favourite shops - Tiger Store and came across these fun sunglasses and couldn't resist picking them up. If anyone is wondering what they say - beauty is in the eye of the beholder - which I think is so true and reminds me that you need to be yourself, love yourself and have fun when it comes to personal style. Also following on from trying to inject some more ethical style into my wardrobe I picked up this green organic vest from H&M conscious collection and paired it up with my M&S jacket and Karen Millen trousers and Superga shoes which are my go to trainers when running around the city or with my kids. I'm also really looking forward to seeing some friends, old and new at Britmums this weekend so do come and say hi if your there. ......

Hello Spring, Easter and Biscuiteers
I cannot put into words how happy we are that it is officially spring - I think we can safely say in our household we are not huge fans of winter in the UK, especially for myself being a Southern Hemisphere expat. Perhaps if it always snowed and we could go snowboarding every season like our European continent counterparts I would feel differently but alas that is not the case in wet and windy Wales, so the sunshine and warmer days are a very welcomed sight. What I love about when the seasons change is being able to bring back to life some long lost clothes such as this Levi's shirt which has been hibernating for a while. I have paired it up with some black jeans from TopShop, Supergra trainers, F&F sunglasses and a beautiful box of Biscuiteers Peter Rabbit handmade Easter Biscuits - this box is so beautiful if I could somehow make it into a clutch I would. Spring of course also means another fun celebration that is Easter and every year we indu......

Street Style Sunday - A Wedding Outfit
Vintage Jacket, New Look tee, Max Studio trouser, Esska Shoes, Ralph Lauren Bag, Boden Necklace So last weekend we attended a wedding, in fact Johns brothers wedding. As you can see my bump has grown somewhat and I struggled to find anything dress wise that didn't make me feel frumpy so I decide to wear what I felt comfortable in but was still fairly chic. I picked up this black Velvet jacket in a charity shop years ago and I love it and paired it up with my Max Studio black trousers and New Look maternity tee, as well as my gold Esska shoes and Ralph Lauren bag and beautiful Boden necklace. The weather was perfect, especially since Wales can be so hit and miss which meant I even had to pack my sunglasses! I went for fairly simple makeup using some new No.7 products which I cannot wait to share with you - in love with their Lip Crayon and overall had a really enjoyable day. The little man was a page boy and I cannot wait share what he wore later this week in the ......

Shades and Street Food
Me rocking my Firmoo shades Over the past two days both Mr A and I have been hit by a horrible little cold, which we have been attacking with healthy food, early nights and lemon tea but with a Street Food Festival happening in Cardiff we just couldn't resist. So after a hot shower and finding the mental strength we ventured outside, which I think did us all a little bit of good, especially since the sun was shinning down, something that has seemed a bit of rare sight of late. It also gave me a chance to try out stylish tortoise shell shades that the lovely people at Firmoo kindly sent me. They have to be one of the best quality glasses I have which I was a bit of surprise considering the reasonable price, they don't feel flimsy at all and I can see these lasting a very longtime and I can't wait to be wearing them on our upcoming trip to the South of France. So back to the Street Food fest - there were a bunch of stalls both on The High Street and Womanby street ......

Johns new shirt and Introducing Haxby
John wearing Albam shirt, Edwin Jeans and Jack Purcell Converse So you may think John has a lot of shirts like this, in this shade, well apparently not (this is what I have been told) it's a different kind of fit with a rounder edge at the bottom and as he described it it's more of an a relaxed "artist" fit over that of a tailored shirt and it comes from one of his favourite brands - Albam. it's smart enough for work but also casual enough for a walk outside with the family and pairs up well with his Edwin Jeans and Jack Purcell Converse and Ralph striped socks. On Side Street Style we also love to showcase brands that we are currently loving and thought we would share our recent new find in menswear that is Haxby, which mainly focuses on denim but also has some interesting sunglasses, belts and shoes. Quality men’s wear is comprised of a few different characteristics. It must be durable and of high quality to meet all of the demands of the day......
So it's that time of the week again to share some fashion inspiration. Last week myself and the lovely Fritha from Tigerlilly Quinn went on a mini road trip to Blogstock - the first blogging festival. A full review of the event is to come but for now I thought I would just share what we wore. First of all whenever you go on a road trip oversized glasses is needed (even if just for fun) I decided to wear my playsuit from Glamorous and I am glad I did as the weather really is starting to turn a little colder these days and it might be the last time I get to wear it before autumn creeps in. I paired it up with my thrift denim chambray, a cute little necklace from next and some happy floral wellies I picked up at the last minute from Sainsburys as my Boden ones have decided to do a disappearance act. The festival also had The Fashion Galleries tent which showcased some lovely independent designers work as well as hosting the fashion-orientated talks over the wee......
