Baby G at 6 weeks

Wow I cannot believe 6 weeks have already flown by since Mr G made his appearance into this world. I am not going to lie it's been a learning curve having two boys in the house and between healing from a c-section and a very active 4yr old it's not always been plain sailing but we are slowly getting into the groove of things. The breast-feeding has been going extremely well, in fact couldn't of asked for it to go any better and I will share more about my journey breast feeding the second time around in a longer post soon. Mr A has found the change at times quite hard to understand and therefore deal with but its wonderful to see how much he loves his little brother and these moments are what make the sleepless nights worth it. Mr G is very much a chilled out baby, he is far more windy than Mr A ever was but he is happy, loves to be held and carried around and really enjoyed bath time - no tears there. He is here...1 week old

So last Monday this little man came into the world at 10:07am weighing just over 8 lbs, meaning he is a whole week old today - time really flies. I will write more about my birth story in another post but after 4 days of contractions ranging from 10 minutes apart to an hour apart I was more than ready to see this little face. I had been a bit worried about my heart defect causing issues during the birth but I had the most amazing Anaesthetist which reassured me the whole way even when my heart rhythm was irregular and was under strain. Of course a c-section takes more out of you post-birth and I have been taking things slow this week and trying to get my iron levels back up, but oh how grateful we all are. Our little family unit has never felt stronger and more ready for the little addition. Laundry Love - Samsung WW9000 First Impressions

Okay so I have to admit I am not the most organised or on top of the laundry kind of person. I mean everything gets clean and thats the main objective, I think it may be because I have never been very exciting or enthralled by the idea of laundry - it's always seemed rather tedious, time-consuming as well as energy and finically draining, especially when you have a toddler or newborn clothes to wash basically every day. Pregnancy Update - Week 14

So as I write this I am actually around 14 1/2 weeks into my second pregnancy journey. Thankfully most of the morning sickness and nausea has now passed but to be honest I am still craving very salty food and have not been eating as healthy as I normally would and I have put on weight quicker than expected, unlike my first pregnancy were I actually lost weight, but who knows maybe it means we are having a girl? I have been struggling with fatigue of late due to slightly lower iron which I have supplemented with Pregnacare and Spatone which does seem to be making a small improvement. Also I thought it would be fun to see what I looked like around this time during my pregnancy with Mr A - I love this photo which was taken on a little day trip to Tintern and the Wye Valley - I think both John and I look a lot younger. New Mum Chic and style inspiration

So with all the Royal Baby fever and everyone going into overdrive about the whole thing, to be honest I don't keep up with much of that but it does make me reflect on my own pregnancy and the excitement about the arrival date, nervous with what to expect and the instant love you feel when you hold your newborn for the first time and enjoying breastfeeding successfully. As I followed a fairly healthy eating plan throughout my pregnancy and remained active I was lucky enough to be back into my size 8/10 jeans within 10 days - yes this can happen without any crazy diets, of course I still needed to firm up but it was strange suddenly being able to fit normal clothes after a few months of being in maternity wear.
