Sometimes it seems there isn't enough time in the day to do everything. Most of the time, people tend to prioritize other tasks and forget to take care of their health. However, there are many ways to fit small exercises into a busy schedule throughout the day. If you wake up slightly earlier, you can easily gain some precious minutes to work out or go jogging. But in case you need some extra motivation, finding a willing companion might be the best course of action. Another option would be to enjoy the outdoors and engage your kids in some outside games, in fact I've written a post before about some ideas on keeping fit with your kids . Exercise Early in the Morning The easiest way to find more time to exercise is to create it. By waking up 30 minutes earlier, you have now created enough time to go for a walk or jog around the block. Some people plan their workout in advance by setting out their workout clothes, running shoes, and water bottle the night before s......

Breakfast at Jamie's, Cardiff
While our youngest is still small date nights have become extremely rare and somewhat on hold, which means that we have to get a little bit more creative with finding time for John and I to have some quality adult time to chat and catch up, away from the home and in stylish surroundings. With breakfast being my favourite meal of the day and finding it much easier to arrange childcare in the morning than the evening it was really nice to be invited by Jamies in Cardiff to come and try out their new breakfast menu and have a a quiet start to the day before John has to head over to work. I started off with a Flat white and a fresh orange juice and John went for a cappuccino while we perused the breakfast menu, which is simple and straight to the point but has fantastic choices for both meat eaters and vegetarians. John went for a classic full monty which is Jamie's version of a full English fry up except with free range sausages and eggs, black pudding, brown cap......
This September has been a very exciting, emotional and equally daunting month for us as a family, not only is it a double birthday month as both my eldest and myself turn a year older but also our eldest is going to school, yes thats right school! If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know we have homeschooled our nearly 6yr old up to this point so you may ask why the change, why now? Well we have always approach learning with an open mind and this decision has been a family one with everyones feelings and emotions being accounted for and we feel this is the right decision for our dynamic as it stands right now, I will be sharing more about our decision and change in direction on a separate post very soon. This has also been the first year things like uniform and stationary have had any real impact or meaning to us as is an efficient morning routine involving two kids dressed and out the door at a specific time and things like the idea of labelling clothing, sho......

Breakfast, tea and a good read
The weekend to us is all about taking it slow, enjoying a good breakfast, family time and all those simple pleasures that make life wonderful. This weekend however was a bit of a strange one for us, we had planned to have a very relaxed Valentines morning exchanging homemade cards over some oven fresh croissants but instead we were getting over a somewhat stressful and eventful evening the night before which involved finding our elderly neighbour had fallen off the pavement into the road and broken his hip on what was one of the coldest nights of the year, we had to wait nearly 3hrs and into the early hours of the morning before the ambulance arrived and get him to the hospital out of the cold. Both the kids had woken up during all of this as we ran back and forth taking him blankets and warm drinks, so to say we were shattered would be an understatement and therefore we skipped breakfast all together while the rest of the day passed in a sleep deprived daze. I did however m......

Rise and Shine
Early morning light is so beautiful I have mentioned on the blog before that we are not always the best at getting a good nights sleep which often means getting up late and in turn means pretty much running late for the rest of the day so I was super excited to be asked to be apart of The #EarlybirdChallenge by Free Office Finder . On average we all basically have around 25 000 mornings and most of mine are fairly groggy but it's proven that it's better for your physical and mental wellbeing waking up a little bit earlier than usual as it makes you far more productive and by doing some simple changes you can make huge improvements to your sleep routine and giving yourself more time in the morning for some peace quite and de-stress downtime. Love having time to make French toast with bananas in the morning So how did walking up earlier benefit me in the past few weeks? 1. Being able to enjoy a quite cup of coffee before the little man gets out of bed, which......

Seasons Eatings
What a beautiful setting for a Christmas feast ( image ) Slowly we have found we are starting to let winter and the festive feeling into our homes and lives. I think by planning early this year I am hoping to avoid any stress that comes along with this wonderful time of the year. To me what sums up the run up to Christmas is finding a few quirky and unique stocking fillers, doing lots of crafts and baking with the little man and indulging in some yummy treats such as traditional shortbread and drinking hot chocolate or ground coffee under a cosy blanket. The lovely people at Harvey Nichols sent over a Seasons Eatings hamper and it's been the perfect introduction to the festive season as it's not to over the top but contains all the comforts of the season in a beautiful woven basket. We cannot wait to try out the Brandy butter and the Marc De Champgane Chrsitmas pudding. I love the little luxury touches and this really would make a wonderful gift and is worth ......
