Win £100 to spend with Frederick Thomas this Fathers Day

So what felt like a really slow January and February the months just seem to be flying by now. I promised myself I would be more organised this year with things like Easter, Birthdays and celebrations as they always just seem to sneak up on me and life is already chaotic as it is running out to a shop at the last minute to buy an underwhelming present isn't ideal. I have got to grips with using a life planner and I reminding myself of things a few weeks before hand to give myself plenty of time. This includes Fathers Day which seems easy enough except it can be pretty hard to find that perfect gift for the man in you or your children's life. This year Fathers Day is on the 17th June and if your stumped for ideas I might have just what your looking for, the chance to win a £100 voucher to spend online at Frederick Thomas which stocks some fantastic products to add that something special to Dads wardrobe. They have an array of cool, colorful and pocket squares, stylish ba......

Awesome Gift Ideas for Fathers Day

I always feel that Dads get a little typed cast and opting for a gift box of Lynx is certainly not going to cut the mustard. As they say it's the thought that counts and of course it does which is why instead of purchasing a few things that are not actually useful or realistically will be used what is the point? I always feel less is more and getting one very thoughtful gift is far better than a few cliche buys. I have been working with Braun to share my thoughts on sensitive Dads and how their whole world changes when they become parents just like us mums. You can read more about it here . Of course the Braun Series 3 ProSkin is a fantastic option for Dads this year and a number one choice but I thought I would share a few other unique gifts for the man in your life.  1. Klean Kanteen insulated steel bottle by Patagonia £29 2. Fjallraven Greenland Backpack £105  3. Ralph Lauren Breton Striped Top £95 4. Asos Vintage round sunglasses £12......

Embrace the Force this Fathers Day

No longer are the days when the popularity of Stars Wars was mainly among adults who were old enough to see the original trilogy or the tail end of it. Of course the films have a massive cult status and have always appeal to fans of all ages but never has there been such an influx and renewed excitement with younger children as there is now with Disney taking the reins of the new films. My is now versed in all things Star Wars and has been teaching me all about At-AT's, storm troopers and the force. Star Wars has always been the exception to the rule but even so its great to see it's enthusiasm and love cross so many generations which is why something Star Wars related makes the perfect Fathers Day present, especially one that can be done together as a family. My 5yr old loves to build lego's and models so I knew these Star Wars activity book and cardboard models from Egmont would be the perfect thing to give his Dad this Fathers Day as this would provide a......

Coffee, Cream and Breakfast in Bed

When it comes to special occasions I am all about the small details and the little things you can do to show your loved ones how much you care. It doesn't have to be a big grand gesture or something expensive but rather a home-made card or breakfast in bed, which is always my preference over anything else, so for this Fathers Day I have planned something a little extra special. Both John and I are big coffee fans, I mean who isn't when you have kids, hello caffeine! We have been trying to refine the art of coffee making at home and I recently upgraded our ageing coffee machine to a Krups Nespresso Prodigy & Milk coffee machine and will hopefully master latte art soon but for now I thought I would put something quick and easy together for Fathers Day as I know I will be short of time with the two kids running around wanting to help. Pancakes in our house is a regular thing on Sunday mornings so I thought I would get creative with my go-to American style pancake......

Ultimate Fathers Day Gift Guide

Are you feeling a little stuck or uninspired in the run up to fathers day? Or simply looking for something a little bit different or unusual? Well I have put together a fun and interesting gift guide which should of have something for everyone, regardless of budget. First of all some of you may already know I have been working with Braun and John personally put the beard trimmer to the test so if your looking to have your man neaten up his unruly beard than the Braun Beard Trimmer is a winner. If you want to tap into their interests wether he be an extreme junki, a fitness freak or rather prefer to spend his days with a beer in hand and a bbq going then these three options are worth looking at. First is the Black Belt Beer Box from Beer Hawk which includes 4 distinctly different beers along with a black belt beer guide so Dad can begin his journey of discovery, best of all it's currently selling for a special price of £12 (normally £20) If you are not 100% sure......

Fathers Day kisses & Giveaway with Braun #AD

If you are a regular reader of my blog you probably already know that John sports a beard, at times its been very big and wild and other times is neater and more styled, either way it's been a longtime since I've seen him with a smooth face and our eldest wouldn't want it any other way. In fact I have mentioned before that John did shave it once when our eldest was about 2yrs old and wow was he upset! He was so distraught by this sudden change in his fathers appearance that John has never done it since and probably won't for a longtime if Mr A has anything to do with it. The one thing I have noticed is that is has not changed how affection is show between the two of them and both our sons love nothing better than a tickly kiss off their Dad and that is what Fathers Day should be all about, the simple things. In a recent survey however it became apparent that the least favourite among children were fathers with stubble as no one likes a prickly kiss. Every chil......

Fathers Day Kisses with #TeamTickly #AD

John and Mr A sharing a secret in Brussels  We are really excited to be collaborating with Braun and that when it comes to fathers day gifts it's really the thought that counts and the simple things such as hugs and kisses that mean the most. John has had a beard since before our eldest, who is now 5yrs old, was born. He once shaved it off when Mr A was two and he was so distraught and upset and refused to get close to John, since then he has never been without a beard. It's all that both of the boys have known and at times Johns beard has been very big, in fact looking back at our holiday in Brussels a few years back it was huge and Mr A loved running his fingers through it. John has gone back and forth with the idea of shaving it all off but if you asked Mr A what he thinks well it's simply not an option, to him his Dad is a man with a beard and he wouldn't have it any other way, especially as it's so nice and tickly. A recent survey reveal......

Street Style - Infinities Menswear

It's not often I catch John laughing or smiling on camera, not that he is a grumpy guy but rather just a very reserved person although he has a very dry sense of humour, in this shot he was making fun of how I stand for outfit posts and was doing some pretty hilarious versions, although it's nice to show a lighthearted moment. I may have mentioned this before on the blog but John is extremely meticulous and particular about what he wears, his style and wardrobe is far more curated than mine, I am at times not sure of what direction I want to go in but there is something good about knowing what works for you and feeling comfortable in that style. He approach is a very simple one, less is more, quality over quantity and looking after your clothes properly - he has a pair of Red Wings which are more than 15yrs old but they certainly don't look it. So when Infinities got in touch asking what John would actually like for Valentines day over chocolate or stuffed a......

Fathers Day Gifts for heart & home

How cute is this French bulldog card from Etsy So fathers day will soon be upon us and it's one of those wonderful days of there year we get to celebrate our partners, husbands, Dads or in fact any man in our life who has a positive impact. I always like to find something a bit different and fun, something that will bring a smile to my OH face and thought I would put a little gift guide together from the small little touches to the bigger gestures, lets treat the men in our lives. 1. John is not a jewellery kind of guy but I have to say I do love these Anchor and Crew necklaces from JewelStreet and they make some amazing unisex and ladies pieces as well (so you could always nab it for a bit). 2. We both love travel as does Mr A so this custom compass is something that could also be passed down from father to son. 3. Johns favourite city and many others is New York so when I came across this book on Find a Present about the faces, humans and street style in New......

Fathers Day Dreams

I loved my childhood spent growing up in South Africa and I love that I came from multi-national family with my father being South African with German descent and a Welsh Mother, it always meant that there was something interesting going on in the house and I always thought the word "cwtch" was normal (although my friends had no idea what I was talking about). My father really implored that with hard work anything was possible and having funded himself all the way through three University Qualifications and his friends would always say "every rand was a prisoner" as he lived on air as a student while some of his friends were already out making money, he did this to insure he had a great future. It was all worth while and I will always be in awe of him, he constantly inspired me and impressed me with his love for life, travel and viewing the world with an open mind. Unfortunately he is no longer with us but I can still hear his laugh and see him listening to ......

Superga shoes for a super Dad

They say that the way to a mans heart is through there stomachs but not with John, oh no, in fact to be honest he has a much larger wardrobe than I do and more clothes to boot. After becoming a father I think everyones finances take a strain so when special days such as Fathers Day come around it's the  perfect way to treat him to something new, such as some shoes, some when the lovely people at Jacamo asked me to pick something for John that I thought he would love I knew straight away these Superga shoes would be perfect. John wears Superga Shoes, H&M shorts, Bathing Ape t-shirt, Ebbets Field Flannel cap Fathers Day is one of those special days we love to celebrate in our house. Mr A and John have such a special bond and the little man loves to make his Dad a card and bring it to him first thing in the morning and I also think it's great way to let the men in your life know how special they are as they can sometimes be overlooked. They have such fun together ......

Three things for the home and Fathers day

Octopus Print £15.89 It's that time of the year again where we celebrate the men in our lives and how important they are to us. Fathers Day in our house usually starts with homemade pancakes and giving our little DIY card plus a few little bits and bobs that we know John likes. We always try and make something as well as pick up something a little bit unique and different, in reality I would love to have time to trawl some local markets but with the recent surgery and work that has not been possible which is why I love Etsy so much as you can find some many inspiring and quirky pieces and there is so much more than just socks and cards which is why I wanted to combine cool home-ware with Fathers Day ideas and gifts and here are three things I am loving at the moment - the Octopus Print, some cool retro coasters and a a hipsters dream of a bike wine rack, I know my other half would love all of these things. Retro Trailer Coasters £9.78 Bicycle wine rack £19 ...

Ralph Lauren Mini Me Collection

John and Mr A in Ralph Lauren Kids store, London If John had his way he would dress up Mr A as a mini version of himself and on the odd occasion I have been out for the whole day and John has been left in charge of the little man I usually come back to both of them wearing chinos and the same striped jumper, so when I cam across this mini-me collection by Ralph Lauren - one of Johns favourite brands, I had to share it with you - there garments are so well made and the children's clothes are too adorable, here are some of our favourite choices... John is particularly taken with the whale shorts which are super cute and I can imagine Mr A running around in the sun with them on. Prints are very in this year and I think it's great to see them being used in a fun and fresh way. ...

Fathers Day fun London Style

So we may not have the best weather forecast for Fathers Day this sunday, in fact it looks like pretty much rain all around the UK but that doesn't mean you need to stay indoors all day, especially not in the Capital which is brimming with things to do. From tanks to free art to climbing the shard to perhaps a pamper day in an iconic Barbershop the choices are endless and there really is something for everyone's budget! Here are our Top 5 choices if you are in and around the city... 1. Build your own - National Army Museum - Free Calling all cadets and tank lovers why not pop down to The National Army museum and have a go at the mini-build activities on offer and if that's not for you you could take on the museums rock-climbing wall or explore the handling collection. Suitable for children seven and over 2. Get Artistic - Tate Modern - Free  The Tate has to be one of my favourite Art galleries in London for the simple fact that it is so family friendly and big en......
