Street Style Sunday- 21 again

One of my favourite stores - The White Company recently celebrated their 21st and having collaborated with them before they sent a little surprise my way in the form of this beautiful long wash silk blouse, it is so comfortable to wear and perfect with skinny jeans for day or night. As it's certainly become a lot chillier in the air I decided to pair it up with my Barbour Jacket and my topshop black skinnies, Boden trainers and favourite necklace from Anchor and Crew . The White Company have some amazing pieces in this season, they just capture style and simplicity so perfectly so here are four of my favourite picks 1. Boyfriend Jeans in White £90 2. Cashmere Ear Muffs £59 3. Suede Chelsea boots £169 4. Roll Neck Jumper £119 Remember to come and join in with what is inspiring you this season, wether it be what you or your kids are wearing or simply a mood board come and share with our weekly style linky An InLinkz Link-up ...

Street Style Sunday - Spring/Summer Transition

John wears - summer Ralph Lauren jacket & shirt, I  wear - light Urban Outfitters jacket & Barbour shirt I always find this a really odd time of the year, it's neither warm or cold but fluctuates either way on a daily basis leaving you not really know what to wear, which is why I think Mr A came down with such bad tonsillitis this past week as we had a few blissfully summery days but still with a chill in the air and trying to keep a 4yr old to wear his jumpers when he running around in the park and sun is out a near impossibility. John wearing a thin spring/summer Post Overalls Jacket As we have been stuck in the house nearly all week because of Mr A being so unwell it meant no chance for an outfit post so every now and then I like to go back see what we were wearing this time last year and just like the weather it too fluctuates from thin jackets and shirts to short sleeve t-shirts and even shorts. Me - HM Polka Dot shirt, Topshop jeans, Holster sanda......

Boys Club and Barbour Jackets

John in his Patagonia Jacket So a Boys Club post has been long overdue especially since Johns wardrobe has grown again but this time with winter staples including warm winter socks from Japan as well as a few bigger purchases such as this Patagonia jacket which he has had his eye on for a few months and thought he would treat himself to an early Christmas present. I have to say having picked it up and tried it on myself (drowns me) its so light, warm and breathable I really want one too. While I tend to mainly wear monochrome John brings in quite a lot of colour and is good with mixing and matching his clothes and even though this is very much a practical jacket and perfect for our outdoor adventures it's also fun and on-trend. When we shop we try to keep things as local as possible and love to support independent stores and one of the best places in Cardiff to find high quality and harder to find labels such as Red Wings and YMC is the small and unassuming Pav......

Heritage Style with Barbour

I thought I would get one more spring outfit in before the sun really does start to shine. I love British heritage styles and old prints and patterns and to be honest if you stick with classics they never go out of style. I recently picked up this BDG jacket from Urban Outfitters and I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of it as it's actually quite thin so I can still wear it in the warmer months but keeps out the wind and being oversized I can layer underneath in the colder months and it goes perfectly with my Barbour Heritage Bird Print shirt. Laura wears - BDG Jacket, Barbour Shirt, Topshop jeans and HM Boots I am in love with the print's vintage feel and it's countryside inspiration and I've not seen anything like this for a while, it feels really unique and captures Barbour's stylish, practical and high quality ethos, something which has stayed with them for the past 120 years. I can see myself wearing this a lot in the future. ......

His and Her outfit post

So last weekend we had a wonderful night away in beautiful bath (post to follow) and the rain pretty much held off for most of the time which meant we got to have a lovely walk around the city, through all the pretty streets, do a little window shopping and soak in the atmosphere. It was chilly but walking around keeps you warm and I wrapped up with some lovely cosy accessories such as my Etre gloves and knitted snood. John also stayed warm in his Barbour wax jacket paired with his Red Wings and Edwin salvage denim jeans - perfect for winter. I opted to wear my thick Fred Perry Pinafore dress with a Nine West tee underneath, Topshop boots, Fred Mello jacket and Paul Costello bag....

Pavilion pleasure

John wearing Carhartt jumper, Edwin jeans and Red wing shoes So one of Johns favourite shops - Pavilion  - based in Cardiff (also online) were running a special day for the first 100 customers through the door last week and of course John was one of the first through the doors as he had been eyeing out a Carhartt jumper for the winter. He got the chance to pick a discount slip out of a hat and picked 20% off plus a really sweet goodie bag which included a Nudies tote bag, Timberland and burlington socks, a barbour mug, Carhartt lighters and some stickers and look books. While in Pavilion he also picked me up a Norse Projects beanie which is super warm and which I love and has now become a staple for my winter wardrobe. Pavilion are also currently running a sale online - up to 50% off and stock some amazing Men and Women's lines including Barbour, Edwin, Red Wings, Vera, Heritage Research and Penfield to name a few. Winter jumper warmer. Me rocking my new Norse Pro......

Autum will soon be in the air

I cannot believe it as soon as you think the sun is around to stay is disappears again...summer is soon going to be over and it's as if it never really got started. You can see the change in the shops, with the new arrivals of Autumn and Winter collections slowly trickling in. I am determined to not be caught out this year as I found that winter appeared out of nowhere last year and I was under prepared with regards to a nice warm, practical and stylish jacket. I have finally learnt over the years that when it comes to a winter jacket you really do need to invest in a quality item that not only looks good but keeps you warm and preferably dry. I always think the French get this spot on and I always think of Parisian ladies in their quintessential Pea Coats and Macs. This year though I am going to go for a more British Look as it only seems fitting to embrace Britannia when we have so much to celebrate at the moment. I am thinking countryside, wax jackets, tweed and quilted patterns......
