How to make mischief with your kids #MAOAMmischief #AD

#AD I’m working in a paid relationship with MAOAM promoting its Mischief Hub that’s filled with mischievous fun to keep you entertained at home. Get ideas at https://bit.ly/MAOAMmischief. The boys and I love getting up to mischief, so when I was asked to review the MAOAM Mischief Hub and come up with some ideas of my own, I was really excited to get involved. We enjoy playing pranks on each other (always kind-natured ones of course) and just being a little silly. One of my favourite quotes is: "Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional". In my house, I really encourage imagination and keeping an open mind even when it's a bit far-fetched. My children know many facts about life, nature and the world, but we also like to keep the door open to the fantastical and unexpected. With it nearly being summer and so much changing in our garden, we are growing many of our own veggies and herbs. There is a sense of magic in the air watching our garden come to lif......

Getting School ready with Ecco shoes

I don't know about you but these summer holidays are flying by! We are doing so much but at the same time there doesn't seem enough days to pack everything we want in and in a blink of an eye it's going to be the start of a new school year. This September I am trying to be a little bit more prepared, with my eldest starting school for the first time last year it felt like a bit of a shock to the system and I really could of been more organised, this year however is a different story and we know more of what to expect. I know the first thing on peoples mind is getting the uniform sorted but shoes are equally important as they take the brunt of most activities and investing in a pair that are durable, comfortable and appealing to little ones is so important as they are going to be spending a lot of time in them. Even though I knew Ecco made chic mens and women shoes I never knew they did kids shoes and better yet a back to school range so when I was asked ......

Celebrating Sensitive Dads

The new Braun Series 3 ProSkin is a real hero for sensitive skin, and launching just in time for Father’s Day it’s the perfect gift for sensitive dads. I’ve partnered with Braun to tell you about some of the times when John has shown his sensitive side! #SensitiveDads For those who don't know John he can unintentionally be quite intimidating as he is 6ft2 with a big beard and doesn't say much as he is very reserved and not one for chit chat but is very social with those he knows. In general he is not much of a talker, in fact he tends to keep things in and doesn't often share if something is bothering him which can be hard to read at times, this doesn't mean he is not sensitive and since having kids this has certainly changed. The focus often tends to be more towards the mothers when it comes to becoming a parent and just how life changing that is but all of these changes certainly affect Fathers as well. John has stood right next to me on all the highs and lows......

BritMums Live - The Lowdown

Most UK parent bloggers will have heard of the annual gathering of like minded social media loving ladies (and don't forget the men) that descend on the stylish Brewery in hip Islington for was is known as Britmums Live or BML16. This was my third time attending this conference and each has been different from the last, perhaps because also what I hope to get out of a conference like this changes. The first time I attended I wanted to go to as many talks and seminars as possible, the second year I wanted to connect with brands as well as other bloggers plus drop into more select and niche talks that interested me such as how to publish an ebook. This year was more about socialising, networking and catching up with some of my blogging friends I have known for years (but only get to see once or twice a year) as well as being inspired by the ever changing social networking scene, individual bloggers stories and new trends happening in the blogging world right now.  ......

Eye of the beholder

Wow it's been a bit of a manic week after an exciting Fathers Day last weekend and getting ready for a little adventure in London this weekend, time has just flown by but I did manage to pop into town and visited on go my favourite shops - Tiger Store and came across these fun sunglasses and couldn't resist picking them up. If anyone is wondering what they say - beauty is in the eye of the beholder - which I think is so true and reminds me that you need to be yourself, love yourself and have fun when it comes to personal style. Also following on from trying to inject some more ethical style into my wardrobe I picked up this green organic vest from H&M conscious collection and paired it up with my M&S jacket and Karen Millen trousers and Superga shoes which are my go to trainers when running around the city or with my kids. I'm also really looking forward to seeing some friends, old and new at Britmums this weekend so do come and say hi if your there. ......

Street Style Sunday - Thank you

This past weekend has been surreal to say the least. On Friday we hoped aboard the train from Cardiff and headed to Holborn in London for a night at the Montcalm for the two-day blogging conference that is Britmums, thanks to my wonderful sponsors HomeSense . An amazing event that brings together so many different type of bloggers from parenting to fashion, travel and interiors plus any other kind of niche you can think of. The Friday night was also the Brilliance in Blogging awards ceremony and party and Side Street Style was up for the Style category for the second year in a row. Things have been so manic since having Baby G and I have struggled to find clothes that are "me" since he was born, having to juggle with breast feeding friendly clothing as well as the fact he is in the sling most of the time, I have to admit I committed a fashion faux par by not making as much effort in the past but having time to get nails and hair done with a 3 month old is fair......

Street Style Sunday - Britmums Live

So I recently attended Britmums live for the first time, for those who are unfamiliar with Britmums, basically it's of the biggest blogging conferences in the UK, taking place at The Brewery, an ever so stylish venue. It's always great to see old friends and meet new ones and a proper review of what I thought, the pro's and con's and what I learnt will be up soon but I thought I would just share a few little snaps from the 2 day event. Rocking a little summer style at the Boots booth First of all the outfit I was going to wear didn't arrive in time, I was literally waiting at my house till just before 11am on the day of the conference waiting for it to come but alas it never did and to be honest I didn't have a back-up. So I ran upstairs and grabbed the nearest things to me which was a sixties style shift dress and this denim playsuit. Simply good breakfast I sayed with fellow blogger Claire from The Diary of The Evans-Crittens at t......
