Getting School ready with Ecco shoes

I don't know about you but these summer holidays are flying by! We are doing so much but at the same time there doesn't seem enough days to pack everything we want in and in a blink of an eye it's going to be the start of a new school year. This September I am trying to be a little bit more prepared, with my eldest starting school for the first time last year it felt like a bit of a shock to the system and I really could of been more organised, this year however is a different story and we know more of what to expect. I know the first thing on peoples mind is getting the uniform sorted but shoes are equally important as they take the brunt of most activities and investing in a pair that are durable, comfortable and appealing to little ones is so important as they are going to be spending a lot of time in them. Even though I knew Ecco made chic mens and women shoes I never knew they did kids shoes and better yet a back to school range so when I was asked ......

Kids Fashion - Finding The Balance

When I was younger I was pretty headstrong, my mother would buy me pretty dresses and well let's just say you rarely saw me in anything that I didn't pick out myself. In the end, she caved and would let me dress myself, despite many clashing outfits. Although with age I did develop a more clear style as well as appreciating my mothers classic and timeless look and now I ask for guidance when I'm not sure about something. I think as parents we all want to allow our children to express their personality, individuality but we too want to have some creative control so getting some kind of balance is important as well as finding the perfect mix of clothes that are cool, casual and comfortable for your kids. If finding the right clothes has become quite the headache I have put together a few follow simple yet helpful tips that may help with that balance between finding something both you and children love. 1. Go For the Bright Colours I have to say in my own sty......

Savouring Simplicity with The National Trust

Last year we made the very wise decision of becoming National Trust members, it was about time because we have visited some many NT properties over the past couple of years we would of saved loads had we been members. Deciding to join was probably one of the best decisions I've made for our whole family in the past year, in fact its a god send for me. I am passionate about the boys having natural childhood and proving a playground to grow and develop in, away from novelties and cheap attractions that can occasionally be found at other countryside parks. What I love about my three local NT properties - Dyffryn Gardens, Tredegar House and Aberdulais Tin works and waterfall is their focus is on the conservation of the areas, bringing them back to life and encouraging children to be apart of that. My boys can be quite a handful, my youngest is in a very active stage of toddlerhood where he is moving a hundred miles an hour but with complete disregard for his own wellbe......

Why summer is the best time to MOT your Home

Our eldest son was born in September, that winter was one of the coldest ones we have had in years, it snowed a lot, in fact it was the last time I remember there being decent snow. Shops shut down as did the trains for a couple of days on and off through that winter and with a newborn I was pretty much stuck at home. Luckily it was nice and toasty until one day I woke up and it wasn't. The boiler had packed it in and just over a fortnight before Christmas, nightmare!   We called a local engineer who said the problem was too hard to fix and we needed a specialist. We had only put this boiler in a few yeas prior and it was just months out of warranty. Luckily friends and family offered up their electric heaters which helped to keep our bedroom warm but it wasn't fun at all, especially as we had to wait nearly 10 days before managing to get a specialist out. We did get the heating back on a few days shy of Christmas which was fantastic but it was an experienc......
