Outdoor Apparel Guide for Women

This post contains affiliate links We all know that spending time outdoors is good for both our physical and mental wellbeing and the UK has amazing hikes and walks perfect for all levels as well as a variety of outdoor pursuits. Having the right clothing to do the job is important not only for practicality but to help keep you comfortable and safe. Finding the right gear and apparel can be a challenge and you're going to find a lot of brands make heavy assumptions about who is buying their products and why. The important thing is to do as much research as possible and don't be pressed to go for the most expensive option, while quality is really important you can often pick up excellent outdoor clothing one sale or at discount as a variety of outdoor shops or opt for second hand from places like ebay. I believe that getting outdoors is accessible for all and you shouldn't be put off through lack of budget and often we can make do with what we already have, so I thou......

A word on International Women's Day

International Womens Day - a day too important to ignore, we have come to far and it's also a day to visualise on how we can move forward and closer to equality. When it comes to broader equality in the UK we are pretty lucky, we can vote, work, buy a house, raise children, same sex marriage and plenty of things we overlook and take for-granted that are simply not options in other countries. That doesn't mean to say we don't face inequality in some form daily because we still very much do! I've always been outgoing, I've always been a bit of a Tomboy, I mean why shouldn't I have my hair short, go skateboarding or do Judo (as well as like fashion etc) and these simple decisions should be seen in the same vain as wanting to do dance lessons, bake or enjoy buying makeup, why is it still one set is seen as "normal" and the other as weird? The amount of times people that have said rude, mean and nasty things to me at a skatepark or walking down t......

Acne clothing love

I love Swedish style, everything is so simplistic, effortless and chic and perhaps that is why both John and I love the swedish label Acne . Acne was founded in 2006 by four creatives with the desire to create something new. They started out with designing 100 unisex pairs of denim jeans and the brand has been built up from there. What is great is they have both a mens and women's line that is equal in individuality and style. It's the sort of brand you don't mind saving up for as the garments are made so well and timeless and I have had my Acne jeans for at least 6 years now and they have not lost there shape at all. Johns Acne shirts don't look a day old and once again are a few years old, I think this is a testament to a great forward thinking brand. Here are a few pieces on my wish list of Acne clothing at Morgan Clare , the high end retailer- for now it still is very much a wish list, especially with having to recently fork out nearly £400 for my screen and hard-dr......

Lovely little Juju's

Don't you remember wearing jelly shoes when you were a little girl or boy - I know I do and in fact I was talking to my mother about it the other day and she was saying she had a pretty little pink pair when she was a girl and this would be going back around 60 years, although unlike today they were not as comfortable as the juju shoes. Juju are iconic in the world of jelly shoes and what I love about them is they are a family company who have been going for 25years and create and make shoes for the whole family in their British factory from locally sourced materials and are recyclable - bonus! They are so cute I simply had to share - John Lewis now stock children sizes which start at £8 and adults start around £18 which is really reasonable and you can find them at stores like Asos and Urban outfitters, I really want to get the glittery see-through pair, something fun for summer. This is NOT a sponsored post - just love them and wanted to share. Babe jelly shoe ......
