T-shirt Style Trends to Follow in 2018

As we move out of January and head towards February I can almost start to feel a slight air of excitement as spring and then summer is on its way. I am very much a summer girl, when we can let go of all the layers and embrace t-shirts and shirts as they are meant to be worn instead hidden under winter jackets. Already we are starting to see a few trends filter through as stores are slowly gearing up to changing their winter stock to summer styles. I thought I would share a few trends I predict are going to be very popular this year. Let’s read on further, in order to learn more about new designs. Ethical Tees Isn't great supporting a label that gives a little back whether it be through a fair-trade initiative or supports a certain charity there are loads around at the moment. I am a big fan of People Tree , a sustainable clothing company that believes in cutting the middle man out and supporting directly the people who manufacture their clothing by nurturing them and inv......

Style - Staying Cosy this Winter

As some of you may know I set myself a Minimalist Challenge this year and it's something I am still working on and will continue to work on throughout next year, I've realised it's a really big lifestyle change and can't be done over night and with two young kids it's something that takes time. I've made big improvements, you may have seen my recent Minimalist Inspired Bathroom vlog  and I am slowly moving through the house.  I have also changed my spending habits and been more selective about the clothes I buy as well as decluttering and getting rid of things I not longer need or use. I have sent so many bags full to the charity shops but it's also made me realise I was in need of some updated pieces to see me through this change in the season so I thought I would share a post on my new favourite pieces I have picked up to keep me cosy this winter. First up is this stupid knitted jumper from Mango, for years I avoided the higher roll neck but re......

How to Choose the Best Dress for Your Body Type

Dressing to feel and look your best is all about being more positive. Of course, most women have insecurities about their bodies, but choosing a dress that flatters your figure is the best chance to celebrate your body. It is now time to shed your perfect body checklist and work with the features that you have. With some guidance from experts, you should be able to play up your assets and embrace your imperfections. Here are the different types of body shapes : Pear Shaped  If you are a pear-shaped woman with fuller thighs and hips its best to choose a dress that is not too short but rather one that is loose in the right places and tailored in the right places to give you shape without being clingy and shows of your best parks. Opting for an A-line skirt that is not too wide is a good option. How will you know that you are pear shaped? Women of this shape tend to wear a different size on top than on the bottom. You can add width to your top using horizontal lines......

Street Style - My Kanken

Since my youngest has started running around like really keeping me on my toes I have dropped the changing backs and wanted to opt for something more practical but also very stylish to carry our day to day essentials. Of course, the first thing that came to mind was a Kanken by the Swedish outdoor brand Fjall Raven, a backpack that was designed in 1978 and has continued its popularity through it's simple and modern design. Wearing Kanken backpack, Toyshop chambray, Jojo Mama Bebe dress Sometimes when I do go out I opt for a smarter bag but these are perfect for when your busy and on the go, plus the choice of colour waves is amazing. I decided to opt for this fun blue one which adds a pop of colour to any casual outfit. Today I paired it up with a Chambray from Toyshop and a dress from Jojo Mama Bebe and necklace from Anchor and Crew. As daily backpacks go these are these are slightly more pricey than normal high street brands (but far more durable) retailing at a......

Street Style Sunday - Family style

So we have had a really fun action packed week, making the most of the sunny days and on the rainy ones we have been trying to sort out all of Mr A & Baby G's clothes for what is officially summer, as well as my own. As they are both growing so fast we decided to pop down to McArthur Glen  in Bridgend (which I will tell you more about soon) to pick up a few goodies for the family and see what Vans had in store for kids as Mr A thinks Vans and skateboarding is possibly the coolest thing ever and who am I to say anything different. Mr A in a cute Paul Smith tee from Melijoe  We have also been embracing shorts the past few weeks as well as the fact Mr A has gone up another shoe size - he has suddenly had a bit of a growth spirt and his Blue Canvas Nike trainers we got from Brantano two months ago finally fit, they are having a huge sale at the moment so it's really worth checking out as these were down from £32 to £16 Mr A wears - Paul Smith T-shirt, Gap k......

Garden delights

It finally feels like winter has truly moved on and we are almost touching on summer and to be completely honest our garden is looking a little sorry for itself and really needs an injection of design, so I thought it was time to put together a little mood board and wish list... 1. Garden white ceramic stool  2. Potting shed garden in a Pail - Lavender 3. Garden trading beach chair   4. Lene Bjerre Affair Hammock 5. Gardman Copper & Cream watering can  I especially love the watering can - never thought a watering can could be so chic. This time of the year is always exciting as we start to get back into gardening and making it a special place we want to spend time in. Do you have any plans to change or update your outside space? ...

Street Style Sunday - Nautical love

Its that time of the year when we are on the brink of summer and we putting together our adventure list of things we want to see and do, summer festivals, city breaks, outdoor adventures and needing stylish but suitable summer clothing, which is why I love this waterproof nautical lines jacket from Trespass and its perfect for my busy lifestyle but still fun and well designed. Street Style Sunday - Stripes and Smiles

I don't think I will ever get bored of Breton stripes, such a classic style and I always find myself wearing a fair amount of it during spring. I have been searching for a decent dress that is also breast feeding friendly, which has been harder than I thought but I did come across this one from JoJo Maman Bebe and you really wouldn't know it's breast feeding friendly as it's so well designed with a double layer just above the waist line. It really works well being paired up with a simple jacket and ankle boots.  Carrying on with the french style theme Mr A has also been channelling some Parisian Chic with this Etre Petite printed French Bulldog t-shirt. It's so cute and beautifully made and I really love this french inspired brand, they have such quirky kids clothes, that is fun and original. Something amazing also happened this week - the blog has been shortlisted for a BIBS Blog Award in the style section and if you enjoy readin......

Street Style Sunday - Kids Edition

Mr A wears Paul Smith tee, Ralph Lauren shirt, M&S trousers and Vans shoes So it's that time of the week again for a little fashion inspiration and I thought it was the perfect moment to share a new love with you...the wonderful online kids store from France - Melijoe.com  which stocks some amazing clothes. Having two boys I sometimes feel limited when it comes to cute, quirky and stylish clothing as a lot of highstreet stores seem more geared towards girls but the great thing about Melijoe.com is that it has a great selection of both girls, boys and baby clothes and Mr A simply loves his Lion Paul Smith tee paired up with a Ralph Lauren shirt. Like I mentioned they also do baby clothes and have some seriously cute outfits. We are looking forward to summer and sitting outside in the sun and I love this stripped Ralph Lauren vest for Mr G, who is going to be a whole 4 weeks in the next 2 days (time is seriously flying by). Would love you to come and join in......
