If you knew your future would you change it?

With so many changes (many not in a good way) happening both in the UK and around the world my mind has started to think about the future and the kind of world we are bringing our children into. A couple of years ago my father passed away, I won't go into details but it was sudden and unexpected and could of been prevented, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and every now and then my mother and I reflect on what happened in the years before and after, if we had changed anything and maybe because I am somewhat a realist I try not to dwell on the past, I do like to remember him but I don't think it's good to go over and over things you simply cannot change. After he passed many things changed in the way I feel about life and I choose to see it as the glass half full. In a crazy way for me so much good came in the years after my father not passed and if that event in my life hadn't happened then I wouldn't of met my partner John or finished my degree......

Our 2016 travel Wish List

The boys running free in Tenby earlier this year Well 2015 was pretty action packed, not only did we introduce Baby G into the world but we also took him on his first overseas trip to the Netherlands when he was just shy of 4 months old, a trip which involved many trains, trams, underground, buses and an over night ferry from Harwick to the Hoek of Holland as we embraced slow travel . We also spent some time on a beautiful organic farm in Somerset and enjoyed a fair few city breaks with our favourites being London (we do a big tip there each year) and Bath  as well as spending some much needed relaxing time in West Wales mainly around Tenby , Narberth and exploring  Bluestone . We also crammed some camping and festivals in over the summer and glamping in Sussex this Autumn. Travel inspired interiors

Ever since I was young I have been drawn to maps, in fact I would stare at them for hours, dreaming of all the adventures I would take in the future and even with age things have not changed. I find maps not only intriguing but also beautiful and they make perfect focus points in any interior space, from the living room or kitchen to your child's bedroom. As travel is something that we as a family are all passionate about it only makes sense to bring our passion into the home which is why I love these stunning wall murals from Murals Wallpaper  as they not only well designed but also fun and educational. I don't think our curiosity of far flung places and cultures will ever wain and it's something that Mr A enjoys learning about as well and I love showing him where Cape Town, my hometown is and how far away it is from Wales. Sunny South Africa

With all this miserable cold rainy weather I wanted to do a little happy travel inspiration post. We have been making lots of travel plans of late and hopefully, fingers crossed, we will be able to visit my hometown of Cape Town near the end of the year, literally dancing up and down at the thought of seeing Table Mountain, eating the gorgeous food and taking my little man to see the place I call home.
