Mr McGregors Garden Salad

Easter is a really special time for us, it's one of those kind of holidays that brings back a lot of happy memories and simple pleasures. We are not talking about mindlessly buying loads of chocolate but rather all the little things that go with the coming of spring. Making crafts, spending time as a family, lovely breakfasts, good food and reading books together. So I was over the moon when I was invited to take part in the Happy Feaster Blog Tour by Ladybird Books and The Happy Foodie. We have been asked to take storytelling from the page to the kitchen by creating a Spring recipe inspired by our favourite Tales of Peter Rabbit! I've decided to create Mr McGregors colourful Garden salad with my little bunnies. It's super easy and healthy to boot. It's super simple and a dish we hope to have a lot in summer from produce in our little vegetable patch.  You can make this salad as big or small as you want - I did two largish portions for John and I and it ......

Bringing the Coffee Home

I was recently invited to amazing little coffee workshop event at one of my favourite places to grab a cuppa - Wyndham Tea (part of the home-grown Waterloo Tea houses) in the Arcades in Cardiff. The room was setup into Stations and we were all split into smaller groups to allow us to get as much out of the day as possible, First up was Latte Art and I have to say even though my attempts were unsuccessful I had a lot of fun in the process as well as learning more about how important a good Coffee grinder is, the process of making coffee decaffeinated and how temperamental soy......

As sweet as apples

I hope everyone had a great Bank Holiday weekend. We returned from our Brussels City Break to a very empty fridge but as I was lucky enough to be chosen to take part in the #MorrisonsMum campaign it was a great way to do a big shop at the super market and spend the end of the Bank Holiday baking up a lovely treat. I managed to pick up a whole bag of lovely apples from Morrisons for 99p as well as some wholewheat flour, raisins and chopped hazelnuts so the little man and I thought we would throw something together that was fun and tasty, such as a chunky apple cake. The little man helping out in the kitchen The recipe is pretty toddler friendly as you can throw the ingredients together without worrying to much about doing everything in exact order. It's also pretty healthy and made with wholewheat flour and can easily be adapted to a vegan diet (have suggested alternative ingredients) and lovely for a picnic or after supper treat with custard. What you need 100g mel......
