Autumn Style Inspiration

Even though it's been pretty mild we are very much in the heart of Autumn with Winter fast approaching. I don't know about you but I have packed away all my summer clothes and out have come the boots, jeans and an array of jackets from the waterproof ones suitable for our many weekly adventures or the more stylish ones for jaunts around the city. I really picked up a beautiful Camel jacket from Jaeger which I absolutely love and I am currently on the lookout for a new snood that will see me through the colder months. The one great thing about this time of the year is being able to layer your clothing as well as indulge in cosy knitted jumpers and soft knitted gloves giving you the chance to get creative with a whole range of warm fabrics and textures. Like most busy mothers I don't have much time to hit the shops these days so I order most of my clothes online, although it can be harder to see an outfit altogether before purchasing it so I like to put little mood b......

Street Style Sunday - Cosy Jumpers

Wow suddenly there is a real bite in the air this week as we come to the end of Autumn and say hello to winter. I thought I would take a moment to get cosy in this knitted Poncho I picked up two seasons ago from the Pure Collection. We have been a bit under the weather this week so have been keeping things fairly simple and low key and indulging in comfy fabrics such as wool and denim. This striped tee is from Next, jeans from Wallis and shoes from Esska. The great thing about this time of the year is being able to layer which has also made me realise I am really in need of a few new cosy jumpers and knits this season that add a bit of pop to my outfits while still keeping me warm under a jacket on our outdoor adventures. They really are a season essential which is also the perfect excuse to have an array of options in your wardrobe. 1. Fair Isle jumper from Boden £99 2. Mother sweatshirt £45 3. Fine knit DUH! jumper from H&M £14.99 4. Eau De Nil Cable jumper......

Street Style Sunday - Christmas Jumper Love

So being 30 weeks pregnant I am all about big comfy and cosy jumpers at the moment and what good timing with it being Christmas and all, so why not have a little fun and get festive with a few novelty jumpers. The lovely people at Bonmarche asked me to choose my favourite two and I opted for this bright and cherry Robin red breast and super soft Owl jumper which is festive but not so much I can't wait it later in the winter season. Jumpers from Bonmarch - Scarfs from Nice Market France, Denim jacket Topshop I am all about chunky knits and scarfs during winter and I am on the look out for a cute fair-isle knitted hat, hopefully there will be something in the January sales. What have you been wearing this past wintery week in the run up to Christmas? Come and show it off and join in with Street Style Sunday linkup An InLinkz Link-up ...

Street Style Sunday - Step into the Story

Mr A rocking his new RL jumper So two weeks ago we went on the little man and I went on a mini adventure to Oxford and paired it up with the Bicester Village Step into the Story Christmas Event. We got stuck in traffic on the way to Bicester Village and arrived a little late, we had been told the event was running from 5-8pm but unfortunately the main part of it was over by the time we got there just before 6pm but that didn't stop us having a lovely time. Luckily there were still a few festive bites to eat, mini donuts and a little bar that made me an alcohol free Pink Lemonade. We roamed around the chic shopping village and Mr A picked this lovely little blue and green jumper for the Ralph Lauren Kids store and enjoyed all the christmas themed decorations around the centre, such as the Reindeers and bears as well as a Photo Booth stand were he dressed up as Robin Hood. We had a wonderful supper at the Villandry a before heading back into Oxford and it was a bit of ea......

Swedish Style

So we thought we would get the New Year off to a bang by working on the house. We are in desperate need of more shelves in our new home as well as some coat hangers and such things, so off we went to Ikea for some inspiration. The great thing about Ikea is that it's super family friendly, it's the one place the little man doesn't get bored or start moaning about wanting to go home, with lots to interact with and no problems about him running around it takes the stress out of what would normal be a very boring shopping trip for a three year old. I really love the Swedish prints and textiles in Ikea so I decided to rock my floral printed shirt by Soul and my super comfy red cheeky shoes loafers. John wears - Edwin jeans, Folk Jacket, Grenson shoes, Saint James Jumper. Laura wears - Soul Shirt, Diesle jeans, Cheeky shoes loafers, Guess Watch John rocked his new Grenson brogues as well as a very warm Saint James striped jumper. We ended up picking up a few bits an......

Home and style at Christmas

So we have a new home and this is our first Christmas in it which has been very exciting. Everything was somewhat of a rush, having only moved in less than 3 weeks ago but we managed to get our tree up, decorated the house, make a gingerbread house and some homemade gingerbread cookie gift tags and get a very excited little toddler to sleep in time for the big day. It was a magical morning spent opening our stockings and gifts, we opted for less is more and picked some lovely natural toys for the little man. We had a champagne breakfast, which always goes down well especially on a lazy chilled out morning before walking over to spend the day at Mr A's grandmothers house. I have also been keeping my beautiful East jumper aside for a special occasion and there is none more special than christmas day, I think my lovely doggy jumper beats any novelty one and captures winter and the Christmas feel while still being stylish and warm. I feel like such a lucky girl as John sur......

Rediscovering Hilton and giveaway

Last Monday John and I finally had our first night away from little Mr A as we ventured across the boarder into England and the beautiful city of Bath. We had been kindly asked if we would review the Hilton in Bath and were very excited by the prospect as it's a city we love but don't get much time to visit. After leaving Mr A with lots of toys and big smiles at the prospect of staying with the grandparents we made our way over the Severn Bridge. After parking the car just under the hotel (very convenient), we checked in, I have to say the during our stay the staff were very friendly, professional and informative. Our room was on the 4th floor and had a great view of the city and canal below. What we loved most was the little touches, there was a big chocolate chip cookie with strawberries and olives waiting for us, as well as a thank-you note and bottles of still and sparkling water. Our room was spotless and well designed with everything you need, we loved the chic......

Jumpers, socks and MADS awards

Loving my warm H&M jumper with my peace necklace So when it's cold outside I love to cosy up in a warm knitted jumper, there is something very comforting about a warm jumper. John picked up this one for me from H&M about 3 weeks ago and I love it's soft feel and wear it all the time. John also picked himself up some Norse Project socks and the very cool Proper magazine (niche menswear) from Pavillion in Cardiff last week as they had a flash 20% sale on. We both really enjoyed paging through Proper magazine as it's put together by some real creatives and has some great articles, art work and ads for small independent as well as larger mens wear lables. It has that zine sort of quality to it but with professional production. It's the first time John has picked it up as I don't think it's stocked in that many places. Also the MADS awards voting is coming to an end, as you only have until midnight on Tuesday 26th to cast your vote. If you......
