Celebrating Love For all Mums this Mother’s Day

*AD  This a paid partnerhsip with Boots #LoveforAllMums  Families come in all shapes and sizes, all wonderful, all valid and this Mother's day is about celebrating ALL MUMS and those mothering figures in your life. The idea of the cereal packet nuclear family is thankfully changing and whether you are a single parent, biological parent, adoptive parent, foster parent, same-sex parent, a non-binary parent who sees themselves as a mothering role, or an older sibling taking on the role of parent, everyone deserves to be celebrated, because family life is diverse and unique and individually beautiful. I'm so proud of my little family unit, the adventures my boys and I embark on, the things we learn along the way and that I get to see them grow into themselves, while I myself continue to grow as an individual. I am continuously grateful on a daily basis that I still have my own mum in my life, especially after losing my Dad in my late teens. She recently turned 75 and is still pain......

Style - Staying Cosy this Winter

As some of you may know I set myself a Minimalist Challenge this year and it's something I am still working on and will continue to work on throughout next year, I've realised it's a really big lifestyle change and can't be done over night and with two young kids it's something that takes time. I've made big improvements, you may have seen my recent Minimalist Inspired Bathroom vlog  and I am slowly moving through the house.  I have also changed my spending habits and been more selective about the clothes I buy as well as decluttering and getting rid of things I not longer need or use. I have sent so many bags full to the charity shops but it's also made me realise I was in need of some updated pieces to see me through this change in the season so I thought I would share a post on my new favourite pieces I have picked up to keep me cosy this winter. First up is this stupid knitted jumper from Mango, for years I avoided the higher roll neck but re......

Kids Clothes That Make a Splash

If you love exploring the outdoors as much as we do then you will know how important it is to have the right equipment to keep yourself warm and dry over the colder months and this of course doesn't just mean for yourself but also for your children. Investing in well made clothes is really the most sustainable way to shop as they will last longer meaning less waste and having to replace them as often. The Scandinavians have this down to a tee by keeping the need for fully waterproof kids clothing that is also fun, well designed and on trend and doesn't sacrifice on any of these things. I always believe that as long as you are dressed with the weather in mind it really doesn't matter if it's going to rain because you will be well prepared and as long as you have a decent jacket and pair of wellies than whatever you have underneath will be protected, especially if your planning on going somewhere a little smarter after a muddy afternoon walk. My youngest......

Festival fashion & Secret Sale

So tomorrow we are heading off to the Just So festival which should mean a weekend full of fun, music, outdoor adventures and a little fashion. It's forecast for rain showers on and off during the weekend which means wellies are a must, as well as good waterproof jacket, but a little bit of rain is certainly not going to dampen our spirit and Mr A is so excited, in fact he was up at 7am this morning wanting to pack. The one thing I love about festivals is that it's a chance to capture that carefree feeling that comes with summer, music and good food. It's a seasonal trend I never get bored or tired with and it's something I look forward too so I thought I would put a little inspiration and wish list together from award-winning and stylish UK-based online retailer Psyche which stock some amazing high end brands as well as unique and quirky ones for the whole family. Psyche are among Vogues top 100 Best British shop so you know your not going to be sort of choice wh......

Street Style Sunday - Spring Throwback

Casual style in the spring sun It's that time of the week again - Street Style Sunday - I was really excited about this week as I have a lovely new outfit that I am eager to share with you all but the last two days have been spent under the covers as I have a cold and believe me I don't like good at all at the moment, in fact I look pretty awful, so I thought I would have a little throwback to what we were wearing this time last year. Going Monochrome with a Vero Moda shirt, Max Studio trousers, HM shoes, Paul Costello bag Spring is a bit of strange but exciting time of the year, one day you could wearing a big coat while the cold wind whistles through the air and then next day you could be in light shirt enjoying those first blissful moments of warmth from the spring sunshine. Joules dress perfect for spring paired with a Radley bag I also cannot believe how much Mr A has grown, he looks so young in these photos from spring last year and it just seems ......

Street Style Sunday - My Kipling

Laura wears - Joules dress, HM jacket, Converse shoes, gifted scarf, Kipling backpack Another lovely instalment of Street Style Sunday and I can't believe its another week later and I am now 27 weeks pregnant - ahhhh where is the time going. The bump has grown loads in the past 3 weeks and I am now officially squeezing out of my normal clothes into maturity clothes, except in this outfit post which may be the last of me in non-maternity fashion. I love that my Joules dress naturally fits my growing bump and it's lovely and thick and perfect for Autumn and Winter. I also picked up this jacket from H&M in Amsterdam when we were there a few weeks ago, it just has such an autumn feel to it. The lovely people over at Kipling also sent me this backpack as part of the #SheWearsKipling campaign. I am a regular wearer of backpacks simply because they compliment my busy lifestyle running after a little outdoors as well as a great way store my camera but someti......

Stripes, Kamigata and Street Style Sunday

Earlier this week I was kindly invited to the Kamigata birthday bash at their St Davids Cardiff store and for those who don't know who or what Kamigata is it's basically one of the top hairdressers and beauty Salons in Cardiff - in fact I wrote about their express pamper service a while back. They had paired up with the Vivienne Westwood store which is just around the corner from Kamigata to do a season predictions showcase and their were a few pieces I really loved.  I knew it was going to be a very stylish affair and thought it would be a great oppurtunity to wear my lovely new Joules striped autumn dress, which I have to say accommodates my growing bump perfectly and can be dressed up or down. Wearing - Joules dress, Gifted jacket, HM boots, New Look necklace  There was a lot going on at the event with various treatments on offer including facials, reiki and what I opted for a mini manicure, something which was on my list of things to squeeze in before the......

A little Joules giveaway

Did you know that Joules do garden and homeware? Well they do and it's super cute, chic and full of lovely prints. I love there fox printed mugs as well as some of their duvet covers, I have to admit I like anything British seaside quintessential which they do perfectly. When it comes to fashion and style Joules is great on many levels such as being practical, wearable but also on trend. One of my favourite summer style items of have of Joules is this lovely denim tunic dress, it goes with so many things and is perfect for a casual picnic or can be dressed up for the evening. Me rocking my Joules dress I have always been a fan of Joules and after recently coming back from Britmums and saw that they put this lovely seaside printed scarf into the goody bags I thought what a better way to spread the love than a giveaway to one of my readers. So if you want to be in a chance to win this lovey Joules printed scarf worth £35 simply enter my rafflecopter which ends on......

Simple Style with Joules

Joules is one of those great British family brands that creates lovely pieces for any season. I love their approach to simple style as well as their use of pretty floral prints. They have a great understanding of combining practicality and style together to make useable but chic clothing that is perfect for a picnic to a date night, walks along to beach or the school run, so when they asked me to review of piece of clothing from their summer collection I couldn't wait. I went with this simple denim tunic that is so comfortable and relaxed but tailored at the waist to give you some shape and I am really impressed with the tunics from Joules I can see myself wearing this at some festivals this year and it's very well made and I am sure it was last for many years to come. I have paired it up with my red cheeky shoes to give a pop of colour and my Radley bag and east silver cuff bracelet for a chic daily look. Wearing a Joules denim dress, Cheeky Shoes, Radly Bag, Cry......

Wild and Free

Dream on Dreamer - tee from Glamour Kills Until recently I hadn't heard of Glamour Kills, an independent clothing company from the US, but after winning a $50 voucher from a twitter comp, I couldn't wait to learn more. I love the youthful designs, that are unique but also very wearable and fit my personal style so well, so I went for this cool tee and wooden bracelet with the words "Wild and Free" - something I always inspired to be and something I really want my son to live by. Wild and Free During the week I also picked up a lovely necklace and ring from at sale at New Look. I try to buy things that are going to last or are ethical but with it being a heavy month of bills, it was great to find some beautiful bargains to brighten up my accessory collection. Necklace - New Look, T-shirt - Glamour Kills,  Jeans - Diesel, Jacket - Thrifted, Watch - Guess, Shoes - Peacocks Most days I am pretty busy with the little man so trying to find the balanc......

Elfin and Joules Love

This week Mr A was a very lucky boy to have been sent a beautiful Joules rugby jacket by the lovely people at Elfin Childrens Wear which stock the most beautiful baby and childrens clothes from brands such as Emile et Rose, No added sugar and Bob and Blossom to name a few. The store which is based up North near Middlesborough has been going since 2001 and provides a great online selection from newborn to 8 years old and what I like is they stock a really unique and eclectic mix of children's wear and gifts that have that real "special" quality to them. We think this rugby top is gorgeous and no we are not just saying that, as we always endeavour to provide honest reviews, but I myself have a few Joules items and I am not disappointed with there children's line at all, it's made with the same tailoring and practical style in mind but keeps the fun element with some really cool badges and pops of colour. Not only is this top really cute but it......

Trees and Hills with Country Kids

So it's been a pretty busy week this week, with lots of outdoor play. Even though the temperature has remained very low, we have been wrapping up like it's December and going outside for some fun. Mr A has recently rediscovered the fun that can be had with a ball and we have spent two days this week at a nearby field simple kicking the ball around which is such a simple pleasure. The same field also has a short but steep hill which he loves to run down hold my hand. Mr A discovering the simple pleasure of kicking a ball We also managed to spend some time at one of our favourite places - St Fagans outside history museum - the reason why we love it is because it has a working farm, different garden allotments, woodland walks, an Italian garden, greenhouses and lots of nooks and crannies and we keep discovering something new every time we go. We final got to see the new little lambs who were playing in the fields. Mr A also had some time developing his tree climbing skil......
