As the Scandinavians say "there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes", okay I think we can all agree at times there is very bad weather and we would rather stay at home but a bit of cold and rain shouldn't stop you from getting outside and the same can be said on very hot and sunny days, what is key though is being prepared so you can get the most out of your time outdoors. If you read my blog you will know we love getting out come rain or shine, as a family and on my own and over the years I have invested in a few key pieces that have lasted me a really long time. So I thought I would put together a mini outdoor clothing guide, all about the basics one should have when going on a hike, to the coast or exploring somewhere new. The layering system As a rule of thumb, it's a good idea to use the layering system especially when your planning a longer walk, hike or spending time in nature with kids, this way you can remove items when your wa......

Street Style - My Kanken
Since my youngest has started running around like really keeping me on my toes I have dropped the changing backs and wanted to opt for something more practical but also very stylish to carry our day to day essentials. Of course, the first thing that came to mind was a Kanken by the Swedish outdoor brand Fjall Raven, a backpack that was designed in 1978 and has continued its popularity through it's simple and modern design. Wearing Kanken backpack, Toyshop chambray, Jojo Mama Bebe dress Sometimes when I do go out I opt for a smarter bag but these are perfect for when your busy and on the go, plus the choice of colour waves is amazing. I decided to opt for this fun blue one which adds a pop of colour to any casual outfit. Today I paired it up with a Chambray from Toyshop and a dress from Jojo Mama Bebe and necklace from Anchor and Crew. As daily backpacks go these are these are slightly more pricey than normal high street brands (but far more durable) retailing at a......
I love simple and classic looks You can really run round in circles trying to keep up with the trends. London Fashion Week has just been and gone, and I am none the wiser. Why can’t there be a shop called “get everything you will ever need here” and we all have our very own aisle full of goods, clothing, items, food that epitomise us. We stick a few items in the trolly and hop on our way. In fact, Brits spend on average 18 years of their lives shopping, most of it necessarily of course, but how much of it have you spent ‘jeans shopping’? A phrase that strikes fear into the hearts of even the sturdiest of shoppers…No, the whirlwind world of fashion isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but timeless classics never go out of style. The watch A watch is essential for many. Anyone with a hectic lifestyle needs to keep one step ahead (setting yours 5 minutes ahead will always ensure you’re on track) and for a young family, time is a precise thing. It won’t be long before you’ll be celebr......
John in casual attire Men's clothing can be a bit of a tricky business. It is an area of extremes. There are the smart tailored suits at one end of the scale, whilst on the other end you will find baggy t-shirts and hoodies paired with homogenous jeans. Many men complain that the casual look can be hard to get right. Most guys do not want to spend hours co-ordinating accessories and scouring the latest style guides to find a fashionable outfit. We want to keep it simple with a thrown-together look that still looks smart enough to take us anywhere. Simple style - shirt and jeans is always good. Image Pinteres t Fortunately, it is possible to find men’s clothing that falls into the ‘casual’ bracket, yet will help you to look the part when the situation needs you to. So swap your blue jeans for earthy cotton slacks, your t-shirts for a polo shirt and your hoody for a cotton sweater and see how much better you look and feel. There are a few wardrobe staples that......

Seasalt Autumn Love
Casual but stylish, warm, practical but also on trend - a pretty hard to find and on top of that is it possible to throw ethics into the mix, well yes you can with Seasalt , one of my favourite everyday brands from Cornwall. This is NOT a sponsored blog and I have not been asked by Seasalt to mention them on the blog, I simply want to share my loves with you, as after having spent some time in Falmouth, Cornwall while at University, the laid back cornish style is something I have a real soft spot for. They are also one of the few brands that make really great waterproof jackets that don't look like they belong to a over sixties hiking club. They have some cute printed jackets and knitted accessories that are perfect for Christmas presents, hint hint nudge nudge, such as the duffle bag for him and the sailor sock pack for her. Kit bag locally made £40 Sailor Socks £35 ...
