I have been meaning to do little room tours of our home but with so much change going on at the moment none of our rooms are actually finished. Next week is all about getting our bedroom sorted with more painting, stripping, sanding, then next stop is some finishing touches in the kitchen, re-painting all the skirting boards in the lounge and hallway plus sanding and painting the doors, the bathroom still needs some work as well as the spare room which has become somewhat of a storage room. But for now I thought I would share the above photos as a sneak peak. ...

Tips for creating a floral themed room
Nothing beats fresh flowers in the home ( image ) One of the most popular themes for rooms in a lot of people’s houses is that of flowers. A floral theme can really brighten a place up, and those who really love flowers will really enjoy being able to match different styles and colours around the room. Here are some tips for creating a room with an effective floral theme… Don’t overdo it The first thing to mention is to not overdo it too much. Of course you want your theme to be noticeable (otherwise what’s the point?) but if you slap flowers on absolutely everything then it’s going to be somewhat overbearing and even garish. Don’t put flowers on everything in the room; instead pick a few key areas and focus on those. I love this bright floral wallpaper ( image ) Wallpaper Having floral wallpaper is a good way of injecting some interesting patterns into your décor. Again, however, you don’t want to overdo it. Try choosing wallpaper with a few flow......
As most of you know we have only recently moved into our house and we are still sorting out where everything goes, most of the walls are bare and boxes still line our hallway while we undergo work on the bathroom and bedrooms. We are renovating it to sell next year but that doesn't mean we don't want to make it feel homely and welcoming in the meantime. It's been long overdue that we sort out our little kitchen diner nook, especially in time for summer and this May bank holiday, which we hope to entertain friends. Our kitchen table has been used as a random storage shelf recently with laptops and laundry taking president but no more. With a little bit of tidying, organising and dressing up the table our little nook has become a place we now love to sit together and eat our family meals. When creating a space to entertain you want to keep it light, bring in some colour, patterns and a bit of fun. I am a huge fan of fresh flowers and I think they insta......

Putting the fun into kids bedroom interiors
A child's bedroom should be a place of wonder and whimsy, a place where imagination can flourish and fun is the name of the game. It needs to be approached in a different way to other rooms in the house and you need to realise that it's a place to play and things don't need to be perfect. In the past two years we have gone through three house moves, renovating and redecorating and our first port of call has always been Mr A's room as it was important he felt comfortable in his space. I always get really excited when I see quirky and cool items that just screams fun but is also chic and stylish and perfect for an inspiring children's bedroom and interior. So when I came across these playful and colourful wall pieces from Urbanara I just knew this would go straight on my list of things to get for Mr A's room. They are handmade with wool felt and made using an appliqué design, there are six different animals heads to choose from, my favourite being the ......

Next Home Blogger Event
So last week I was lucky enough to be invited to the Next Home-ware blogger event in Cardiff. It was a great day out with some inspiring interiors, stylish bloggers and high tea in a penthouse suite at St Davids hotel. The day started out with a tour of the Next store in Leckwith Cardiff, which is amazing by the way - it's so huge and has an amazing homes section. I loved all the room sets and there is a real nautical theme this season as well as a crafty, home-made element, especially with their cute cushion covers. They have some great accessories and they are all very reasonably priced, more than I expected. The furniture can be quite expensive but is solid, well made, has designer features and worth the little bit extra. After we had a good look around the store, picking up a few bits and bobs for the house (I love my new bicycle tea candle holder) we made our way to St Davids Hotel to watch the new Next home wear TV advert and have a spot of pampering with m......
