If you are a regular reader to my blog you will know we believe in spending time outdoors everyday no matter what the weather (well except storms or Gail force wind) but to do that you need to be prepared and dress suitably which is easier said than done when it comes to kids and clothes that are both practical, stylish and long lasting. If your kids are anything like mine and love to run and jump, climb and basically get covered in mud than you need something that is kid-proof so we were really excited to collaborate with Muddy Puddles again as we really loved their summer waterproof jacket from last season. This time my eldest is putting the Puddleflex jacket to the test and it's great for these slightly colder months as it's lined with a light fleece adding an extra layer of warmth on these wintery days. As some of you may already know I am on a minimalism mission and we are collectively trying to reduce, re-use and only invest in good quality long lasting ......

Simplicity and Style
I feel like 2017 is going to be a year dedicated to simplifying my life, to going back to basics of less is more and quality over quantity as well as a more ethical approach to purchases and how we decided to live as a family unit. Like most I love fashion but I want to get rid of the clutter in my wardrobe, I have way to many pieces of clothing that I simply don't wear and as with most people my style has changed and developed over the years and is nearly at a point I feel happy with my style choices. Saying that in the coming year I aim to streamline my closet and create a real "go-to" capsule wardrobe full of my favourite things that all work well together and will provide me with 7 fail safe outfits for the week. Pairing up my Fred Perry Winter jumper with a White Company Shirt. Image by Sarahlou I love the small details, little pops of colour or subtle prints that add that something special to an outfit, also with kids running around I like things th......

Street Style Sunday - New Shoes
So I recently treated myself to this colourful floral printed trainers from Boden, they are just a bit of fun and add a pop of colour to my wardrobe. They are actually from the teenage section of Boden but I thought why not, if you can't have fun with fashion then what can you have fun with, especially coming into the colder months it's nice to still keep a touch of summer in my outfits. I also managed to pick these up for a steal but using a VouchaCodes which meant I got money off and free delivery, serious win if you ask me. I have paired them up with my Fred Perry Pinafore and a tee from Next for a simply and practical look as this past week has been a really busy one. So far this Autumn has been mild so I have been making the most of still being able to wear dungarees and dresses on a daily basis before it simply becomes too cold and the tights have to come out. The one great thing about seasons changing is that it's the perfect time to re-evaluat......

How To Do Luxury For Less
By mixing High Street and thrifty finds you can create a luxury inspired outfit Everyone needs to treat themselves to something a little bit luxurious every now and then, but it needn’t always cost a bomb. There are clever ways to bring opulence closer to earth at a more reasonable price. Here are a few of our favourite hacks to help live out your extravagant side without breaking the bank! I love finding vintage and thrifted jewellery at a fraction of the price Interior Lover - Big Spender I don't know about you but we love Eames chairs, which started with the stylish Eames Lounge chair and Ottoman which ranges into the thousands and is produced by The Herman Miller Furniture company For the Savvy Shopper Luckily you can get a lot of high quality inspired pieces that capture the same sense of style without the huge price tag. Places like John Lewis or Vertigo Interiors are a good place to start which looking for a price point product. Eame ......
I love simple and classic looks You can really run round in circles trying to keep up with the trends. London Fashion Week has just been and gone, and I am none the wiser. Why can’t there be a shop called “get everything you will ever need here” and we all have our very own aisle full of goods, clothing, items, food that epitomise us. We stick a few items in the trolly and hop on our way. In fact, Brits spend on average 18 years of their lives shopping, most of it necessarily of course, but how much of it have you spent ‘jeans shopping’? A phrase that strikes fear into the hearts of even the sturdiest of shoppers…No, the whirlwind world of fashion isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but timeless classics never go out of style. The watch A watch is essential for many. Anyone with a hectic lifestyle needs to keep one step ahead (setting yours 5 minutes ahead will always ensure you’re on track) and for a young family, time is a precise thing. It won’t be long before you’ll be celebr......

Boys Club - What they wore
So the two boys are officially back with their Boys Club posts and earlier this week they were off to visit the grandparents and decided to wear white shoes (may have not been such a great idea as Mr A loves mud but oh well). During the week it's all about running around outdoors, baking, crafts, getting messy and what not but when it come to seeing the in-laws John always take the opportunity to dress Mr A in a sort of mini-me kind of fashion and it's very sweet. John wears - Uniglo Shirt, Ralph Lauren Chinos & Socks, Superga shoes John is a shirt man, especially in the colder months and with the sun being out and it finally feeling like spring he woke up and said he just felt like wearing white as if to announce the coming of the lighter months, especially after what has seemed like the longest bout of rain we have ever seen. Mr A wears - Fred Perry Harrington, RL rugby shirt, Mini club jeans, converse shoes With Mr A being quite slight it has meant w......

His and Her outfit post
So last weekend we had a wonderful night away in beautiful bath (post to follow) and the rain pretty much held off for most of the time which meant we got to have a lovely walk around the city, through all the pretty streets, do a little window shopping and soak in the atmosphere. It was chilly but walking around keeps you warm and I wrapped up with some lovely cosy accessories such as my Etre gloves and knitted snood. John also stayed warm in his Barbour wax jacket paired with his Red Wings and Edwin salvage denim jeans - perfect for winter. I opted to wear my thick Fred Perry Pinafore dress with a Nine West tee underneath, Topshop boots, Fred Mello jacket and Paul Costello bag....

Doc Marten Cardiff - Highlight
So I really want to highlight some local stores on the blog, as Cardiff is a really great city with a lot of new developments and going's on. I was really happy when Doc Marten finally came to town, it's a brand with such heritage and cultural relevance. Being a bit of a skater punk back in the day, Doc's were always the go to shoe to wear to any gig and I still love the brand today. The Cardiff store, which is situated opposite St Davids 2, in the City Centre, has an amazing selection, friendly and knowledge staff with occasionally guest artists decorating the walls. The did a collaboration with Frontier Tattoo studio a while ago - the same tattoo studio that did both of John's leg tattoos. Whats even better is that have a great kids range and I cannot wait to get Mr A a pair sometime soon, I just think the miniature versions for both girls and boys from cribs right up to teenagers are super cute and on trend for children with a unique and strong personality......

Stripes and a Dungaree skirt
Laura wears - Fred Perry dungaree skirt, Nine West top, Doc Marten shoes So when we were in London recently I managed to have a quick look at the Fred Perry store in Covent Garden and saw this cute little dungaree skirt on sale, I love the workman style feel and look of it and it made of a thick and durable cotton, perfect for both spring, summer and autumn. I also like how the waist is tailored in and gives it shape. I have paired it up with a t-shirt from Nine West and Doc Marten shoes. I know I am going to have fun with this little dungaree skirt and I can experiment with different colours of t-shirts and shirts as well as layer with knits when the weather becomes a bit cooler. Both John and I have also been invited to be apart of the #Voicesofstyle on Oogly.com which is a new fashion/outfit sharing site and a lot of fun to use. I have joined in with What I wore Wednesday linky ...
