Miss Patisserie Launch

Cardiff never seizes to amaze me with it's talent and creativity. Perhaps not the bohemian hub like cities such as London or Bristol but slowly and surely we are getting there in our own way. So I am always pleasantly surprised and excited to attend events in and around the city, especially went its supporting local businesses such as launch of the new shop and premises of the beautifully handmade bath and beauty company Miss Patisserie . Now I had actually seen Miss Patisserie products before and never knew they were made right here in Wales! Such cute and creative products, most popular being their cupcake bath bombs made to a very high standard, so much so that they are stocked in high end retailers such as Harrods and Fenwicks, plus loads of independent stores. The evening was a chic affair with an array of tasty nibbles from sushi to real cupcakes (almost mistaken for bath bombs) and lots of champagne. It was really great to have a walk around and see how......

Adventures in London with Tulipop

Mr A with Bubbles at the Tulipop Press day We were lucky enough to be invited to the UK press launch of the wonderful children's homeware brand all the way from Iceland - Tulipop . The event took place at the Icelandic Embassy in London and  it was a fantastic little day out for Mr A and I. We ventured to the big smoke from Wales, despite flooding and the underground strike our travel was pretty stress free as the little man loves nothing more than going on the "fast train" to London. He is so fascinated by that city and who would't be - London is an amazing place for big and small and is a creative hub which made the perfect place to view the quirky and inspiring Tulipop collection. That's us on our way to the big smoke So what is the Tulipop all about? Let me start from the beginning, during the rescission this colourful company was born by the talented Signy and Helga in their home country of Iceland in 2010, with a joint dream to create somethin......

Wales Blog Awards and Birthday daze

First of all I was sooo happy to hear that I made the "Long-list" for the lifestyle section of the Wales Blog Awards which is very exciting. I love meeting other bloggers from the same city/country and see what they are up too. You can see the rest of the nominees at Wales Blog Awards  So it was my birthday this week...one year older and not that much the wiser. It does seem with every passing year that the excitement fades. When I was younger I couldn't get to sleep at all the night before my birthday, now I sleep in, with no rush to get downstairs to open presents. I didn't have much of a plan for the day, that way one cannot be disappointed, and overall I was very happy with what turned out to be a lovely day. I woke up with my partner having put little "happy birthday" signs around the house, which made me smile, along with a bagel for breakfast and a 80's Timex watch and really cool Nike Mid-tops (it's all about the casual wear this year). ......

Little things I love

So I have had such a pleasant weekend it makes me think of all the small things that make days special. Yesterday was filled with lazy couch moments and pottering around the house, de-weeding the garden, listening to music and putting posters up in the middle room. Today was spent in the city book browsing (mainly looking for The Selby book), having coffee, discovering a new cafe bar and enjoying good food, in good company. With having got my laptop back and going through this summer's photos, it's great to look back on those "little moments" and "future ideas" that will come from those...so here are the little things I love Eating homemade cupcakes in the garden  Foxgloves - Poisonous but pretty Being on the beach late at night and writing light into the darkness Hiding in the flowers in the garden My current blog crush is The Selby , and if you have not heard of it believe me you want to check it out. It's the creation of Todd Selby, a portrai......
