Boys Club - Fjallraven Jacket

John has been eyeing up a jacket to carry him through from winter to spring since before Christmas although decided to wait and see if any popped up in the sales, luckily one of his favourites did - this Fjallraven Greenland jacket from OiPolloi . For those who don't know who Fjallraven are they are an stylish but durable outdoor Swedish brand, you have probably see their famous Kanken bags which have been incredibly popular for both men and women. They make their clothes to last and going by how long I've had my Kanken this is certainly the case. John has paired up his new jacket with a Ebbets Field flannels hat, Folk shirt, Edwin jeans, Converse and Chups socks. The great thing about a simple, waterproof jacket like this is you can layer a lot underneath making it perfect for the transitional time between winter and spring and hopefully it will come on use during some of our adventures we have planned for this year. ...

Street Style Sunday - Boys be bold

So this weeks Street Style Sunday is all about the little ones. I have been waiting to be able to put this beautiful retro print Powell Craft baby grown on baby G since one of our lovely Home Ed friends gifted this to him after he was born. I love all the vintage machines and forms of transport and it's just so different to what you normally see in high street stores. Mr A has also been going bold this week with some strong colour blocking with his yellow Mama's & Papa's rain jacket and RL trouser When it comes to picking up new clothes for the Boys I do find there is often less choice in comparison to the girls departments which always seem twice the size. Although I have to be honest and say sometimes we actually mix and match - Mr A has a tiny waist for his size and these trousers are actually from the girls department as they fit slightly better for him - but as I say whatever works. Here are a few staples I am loving at the moment for little ones ......

Street Style Sunday - Yellow and Blue

I cannot believe that next week there will be four of us so I thought I would take the chance to get a little outfit post of these two before our world changes again with the arrival of another little man. These two are so funny together and Mr A often tries to dress the same as John but on this occasion was excited to try out his new yellow rain mac from Mama and Papas which I wish they made in my size!! John also has his well worn Ralph Lauren rain jacket and Universal Works, Ebbets Field Flannels hat, dockers trouser and Eastland boots Can't wait to enjoy wearing normal clothes again and sharing my post-pregnancy outfit journey with you from next week...which also means I get to go shopping again, yay! I would love you to come and join in with Street Style Sunday linkup alongside myself and Natalie and Kerri-Ann  and remember anything fashion related goes from mood boards, what's inspiring you to what you and your family are wearing. An InLinkz Lin......

Street Style Sunday - Boys Club

John in Edwin Jeans, Eastland shoes and Universal works socks This weeks Street Style Sunday is all about what John has been wearing of late and some things he picked up over the Christmas period. One of his bigger purchases was a pair of Eastland Oxford shoes and Universal works socks which pair up really well with these tapered Edwin jeans from Woodhouse Clothing . John has a few pairs of Edwin jeans, it's one of his go to Denim brands as the fit, taper and quality never fail and Woodhouse has a great selection as well as a few other top menswear brands including Barbour, Nudie jeans, Penfield and Woolrich to name a few. John wears Ralph Lauren Jacket, Carhartt jumper, Edwin Jeans, Eastland shoes There are a few things with investing in and one of those is a good pair of jeans. John has a few pairs he has had for years and actually look better with age and I think that is down to the denim being very good quality and hey jeans never go out of style. As alw......

Boys Club and Barbour Jackets

John in his Patagonia Jacket So a Boys Club post has been long overdue especially since Johns wardrobe has grown again but this time with winter staples including warm winter socks from Japan as well as a few bigger purchases such as this Patagonia jacket which he has had his eye on for a few months and thought he would treat himself to an early Christmas present. I have to say having picked it up and tried it on myself (drowns me) its so light, warm and breathable I really want one too. While I tend to mainly wear monochrome John brings in quite a lot of colour and is good with mixing and matching his clothes and even though this is very much a practical jacket and perfect for our outdoor adventures it's also fun and on-trend. When we shop we try to keep things as local as possible and love to support independent stores and one of the best places in Cardiff to find high quality and harder to find labels such as Red Wings and YMC is the small and unassuming Pav......

Street Style Sunday - Boys Club

Mr A wears Pumpkin Patch jacket and t-shirt, Name it trousers and Vans mid-tops So this week I thought it was a bit long overdue since we had a Boys Club post and with the season changing so are what they are wearing. Mr A has been enjoying a few new pieces from House of Fraser who set me a challenge to put an outfit together for under £50 which we managed to do as they have an amazing kids selection and feel this outfit is perfect for an active day outside or a playdate with friends. I thought we would go with a autumn shade and we both love these Name It slim leg trousers. Also Mr A has recently discovered Camo and Army print and sometimes that can be little bit over the top but this very light camo Pumpkin Patch t-shirt is not in anyway overbearing but still very fun, as is the light but warm Pumpkin Patch jacket John wears Patagonia top, Ralph Lauren Jeans and Vera shoes John is also really enjoying the slightly colder climate as he is very much a long sleeve, layer......

Boys Club - what they wore

So I thought it was a bit long overdue for a little outfit post from the two boys (well one man and one boy) and with Mr A turning 4 he has become a lot more picky about what he wants to wear - in fact he won't wear anything he doesn't pick out of his wardrobe himself - this usually involves camo shorts and a very well worn dinosaur t-shirt but this time he went for a real pop of colour and thought I had to capture that. Last week we were lucky enough to be invited to an event with Ralph Lauren in aid of their new literacy collection with the book trust charity and it was amazing - I will be sharing this wonderful day out with you very soon but while we were there Mr A had the chance to model these red trousers and they basically have not come off since then. Mr A wears Cos striped tee, RL trousers, Clark shoes John and mr A have also been spending as much time outside on John's days off and before winter sets in, exploring the local parks and teaching Mr A how......

Street Style Sunday and Boys Club

It seemed only appropriate to do a Boys Club post on fathers day, especially since John picked up this patchwork RL shirt (another great TKMaxx find) and we had a lovely day down Cardiff Bay over the weekend, it seemed like the perfect thing to share, especially as there bond seems to grow a little more everyday and it's really lovely to watch. Also we are going to be co-hosting Street Style Sunday with the lovely Natalie over at Style Me Sunday , so do join in John wears Ralph Lauren Shirt, HM shorts, YMC Clarks loafers, Norse Projects Cap At first I was unsure of this shirt when John showed me but now that I have seen it on I think it really works and it's nice to see pattern and colour in menswear. The patchwork design reminds me slightly of western shirts but with a real modern and relevant twist and I love seeing something a little bit unusual Mr A loves running races at the moment and climbing anything. He was fascinated by the skateboarde......

Boys Club - New shoes

Mr A wears New Balance trainers, Mini Club jeans and a Field Life cardigan  So Mr A is very much into what he called "running shoes" at the moment and brighter the colour the better! Both John and I have been eyeing out some New Balance for ourselves lately and came across their kids range which is too cute, well anything that is basically a miniature of adults shoes in our minds is cute. With our Brussels trip and Mr A having gone up a shoe size lately we thought it would be a great time to buy some comfy trainers for a city trip which would involve a lot go walking. We did try to keep Mr A from wearing these until the trip but as soon as he saw them it was love at first sight and they have hardly left his feet since John wears - Ebbets Field Flannels cap, Post Overalls Jacket, Universal Works shirt and Edwin Jeans John also purchased himself a pre-travel accessory in the form of a Ebbets field flannels cap, a company that specialised in vintage authent......

Boys Club

So it's that time again for the men in my life to showcase there big and mini looks of late. I only wish I could preserve shoes like John does, can you believe his pair of Red Wings are 10 years old and look in better condition than half my shoes. I think it's one of those things we often talk about on the blog - less is more and buy investing in these he really has gotten a lot of milage out of them, and hopes one day to hand them down to Mr A.  John is also sporting one of his latest purchases - a lightweight jacket for summer from Post Overalls, alongside his double RRL jeans. John wears - Post Overalls jacket, RRL jeans, Red Wing shoes Mr A has also been getting a lot of use out of his thicker shirts before the warmer weather really does start to set in, the great thing is because this shirt is thick it means I don't have to layer him so much at the moment and it's also durable for a rough and rouble little chappy, which he is. We picked it up from ......

Boys Club - What they wore

So the two boys are officially back with their Boys Club posts and earlier this week they were off to visit the grandparents and decided to wear white shoes (may have not been such a great idea as Mr A loves mud but oh well). During the week it's all about running around outdoors, baking, crafts, getting messy and what not but when it come to seeing the in-laws John always take the opportunity to dress Mr A in a sort of mini-me kind of fashion and it's very sweet. John wears - Uniglo Shirt, Ralph Lauren Chinos & Socks, Superga shoes John is a shirt man, especially in the colder months and with the sun being out and it finally feeling like spring he woke up and said he just felt like wearing white as if to announce the coming of the lighter months, especially after what has seemed like the longest bout of rain we have ever seen. Mr A wears - Fred Perry Harrington, RL rugby shirt, Mini club jeans, converse shoes With Mr A being quite slight it has meant w......

Boys Club - Style and Cuts

So it's been a while since we have done a Boys Club post from Johns point of view and now that we are more settled in our new house it's somethings we are going to be adding to the weekly posts again and John has some great ideas, so watch this space. For now though I thought it would be nice to just have a quick little update on what John has been's been up to, what he has been wearing and whose hair he has been styling of late. John and Mr A on there way to London in there shirts Johns most recent purchases are his Post Overalls Jacket and Grenson brogues as well as the Vera boots  he won in an instagram comp just before Christmas. He describes his look at Dad style and I love seeing the two boys together and it can be easy to forget how even when I think my days are very long John comes straight from home after an even longer day at work and or spends all his free time with Mr A, they are so funny together. John 1. Veras, Engineered Garments ......

Boys Club - Back to where it began

The photo above is one of the earliest I took of John, it was at a New Years Eve party a few years back, in the early hours, he was showing me his collection of New Era caps and listening to some vinyl on his 80's record player. He has always been a fan of America/Japanese street wear, even if he doesn't always wear the items he likes to collect things and I know if he had his way the house would be filled with BAPE, New Era and Comic book memorabilia. John during the summer wearing a Norse Projects Hat John's been debating lately about what kind of hat is going to get him through this cold winter, as his Norse Projects summer hat is making it's place on the shelf until the warmer months and also just because he wants a change. So John has put together his Hat wish list, which is perfect for me as it doubles up as a possible christmas list too, as not only is it practical but also stylish - win win. We recently found out about this great site called Capol......
