Don't you just love it when you come across something you know is going to work with so many things and be used over and over again. As I am trying to minimalise so much of life right now so when purchasing clothes I know are going to contribute to a cohesive capsule wardrobe for the coming season is really important. I've been looking for a simple olive green/khaki jacket for a while so when I came across this one in TopShop I knew it would be a good choice and while I had a more tailored shirt or jacket in mind I really love that this one is more loose and casual. I have paired up this jacket with a simple white tee from Mango and a pair of skinny jeans with Ankle boots from Wallis and a Bowler hat from Urban Outfitters with some glasses from the H&M Conscious recycled plastic collection. If you ever want to elevate basic tees like this with your own custom designs or graphics, getting high-quality prints from bestpricedtf.com is a great way to personali......

Lovely little Juju's
Don't you remember wearing jelly shoes when you were a little girl or boy - I know I do and in fact I was talking to my mother about it the other day and she was saying she had a pretty little pink pair when she was a girl and this would be going back around 60 years, although unlike today they were not as comfortable as the juju shoes. Juju are iconic in the world of jelly shoes and what I love about them is they are a family company who have been going for 25years and create and make shoes for the whole family in their British factory from locally sourced materials and are recyclable - bonus! They are so cute I simply had to share - John Lewis now stock children sizes which start at £8 and adults start around £18 which is really reasonable and you can find them at stores like Asos and Urban outfitters, I really want to get the glittery see-through pair, something fun for summer. This is NOT a sponsored post - just love them and wanted to share. Babe jelly shoe ......

Let in the light and Pin to win
As you may know we are in the middle of houses at the moment, having sold our old house just before Christmas and we are now renting a little cottage just outside of Cardiff, and are currently on the lookout for our next "home". I am dreamer when it comes to these things, I mean why not aspire to live somewhere inspiring! Perhaps this is because the flat I lived in with a friend in Cape Town had the most amazing view of the mountain and city with a large balcony and windows that would let in the light, and it rarely failed to take my breath away every morning. I am in love with floor to ceiling windows and would love to live in a Victorian bay fronted house or an old warehouse or parisian apartment. I like rooms to have little nooks and crannies but also to be bright and airy and I love the idea of the outside coming in and the warmth of natural light. However I am not a huge fan or early morning sun every morning (anything before 7am is a bit of a no no) so I would hang......

River in Cardiff
So I was walking through St Davids 2 today after an interview and decided to pop into the new River Island store - for some reason tend to overlook River Island, i'm not sure why, I suppose I tend to go to Topshop or Urban Outfitters of H&M if I am going to shop on the high street - otherwise I am a huge fan of vintage, thifting and charity shops. I was very pleasantly surprised though by the slick and chic floor layout, as a company they have seemed to mature a little and I really love there mullet dresses and leather look jackets. Please note I have not been asked by River Island to do a review, this is simply my own point of view. Here are a few things I would love to have in my weardrobe at the moment Black Waterfall Jacket £60 Gunmetal Design Forum Ball clutch £35 Cream Jacquard and lace dress £80 Light Pink sequin maxi £40 Khaki shimmer dip hem maxi £35 Black double layer dip hem dress £30 Black encrusted cross necklace £10 ......

Summer Sunglasses for the soul
So they say the eyes are the windows to the soul...so it only seems fitting to have something chic covering them. I love sunglasses...they just make a person feel cool when the suns out and your driving to the beach listening to road-trip worthy tunes with the window down and feeling like a rockstar. It's also such a great accessory to be bold with and there are some many fun frames out there. I am in love with round frames this summer and here are a few on my hot list. Shwood handmade wooden frame sunglasses ASOS Metal Half Frame Cats Eye Sunglasses £15 Henry Holland for Le Specs Asos £56 Chloe Club Master sunglasses £175 Colour Fade sunglasses Urban outfitters £18 Ray ban rounds £116 Ray ban Meteor from £85 ...

River Island Delight
So I haven't been into River Island for a very longtime, for some reason when I do shop on the high street I find myself in Topshop, Urban Outfitters or H&M and seem to overlook River Island, not for any reason in particular but the shop window on Queen Street really caught my eye and had to have a quick look inside, although due to time constraints I finished the rest of my browsing online at home and I have to say I am very pleasantly suprised with their current collection, it's full of fun prints, aztec designs, music inspirations (very Lana Del Ray) and the new pastel trends, they also have a well tailored men's collection...here are some of my favourite picks.... Here is a sneak peak of some of the mens collection ...

Instagram weekend roundup
So still alittle upset at not being at London Fashion Week this week due to work/life commitments (first time in a few years that I am not there) I have resorted to quite a lot of baking this weekend, which has now lead me to needing to go on a healthy eating diet this monday! Anyway since John and I both had today free we thought we would make the most of it, since it was dry, although very cold and apparently it's going to be raining for most of the week, we though an ouside adventure of some sort was on the cards. So we decided to take a drive to Cyfarthfa Castle in Merthyr (birthplace of Julian McDonald and Laura Ashley) and anyone living in Wales/Cardiff should check this place out, as it really is a beautiful setting. The castle houses a very interesting and fun Museum and Art Gallery, as well as a victorian style tea room (welsh cakes and coffee for me). It's also set in a 160 acre parkland with a large lake full of ducks and a sensory garden and best of all it's all......

Going for the Glam Rocker Look
At some point in life, everyone wants to become a rockstar. What is there not to admire in a professional musician? They get up under blaring light on a stage, play some fantastic tunes, and get to hear the adoration of thousands of fans who usually just beg for more. While most of us would rather forget the styles of the late 70’s through early 90’s, rock n’ roll was kicking into full gear and provided us with a lot of fashion options. Here are some of the rockstar traditions that are living on today: David Bowie There is no rockstar who pushed the limits quite like David Bowie. Between crossing the androgynous lines and dressing like a spaceman, no one could ever quite put a finger on how David Bowie found his stylistic inspiration. For VogueParis , model Kate Moss did her best Bowie impression and donned the bedazzled jumpsuit with a bright orange mullet wig. Blondie Debbie Harry was the style icon for post-punk new wave and thousands of hipster girls across the wo......

Interview outfits
So both John and I had interviews during the week - John with a city centre barbershop and Me for a part-time Photography position. They are both quite creative jobs so you have to get a balance of presentable/smart while also approachable and individual. It was a beautiful summery kind if day but by the afternoon it started to get alittle chilly, I am not ready for summer to be over, not just yet anyway, as Cardiff is a beautiful place when the sun is out. I had bought this dress from White Stuff earlier in the season and hadn't had a chance to wear it yet so I took advantage of the few warm days we had left. Laura is wearing a Dress by White Stuff, Necklace - Laura Ashley, Bag - Radley, Shoes - Office, Belt - thrifted John is wearing a Shirt by Fred Perry, Albam Jeans, Quoddy Shoes, Fjall Raven Rucksack, Urban Outfitters sunglasses, Timex Watch Winter is coming. ...
