A Brecon Day trip

We feel really lucky to live in easy reach of some wonderful places and depending on how we feel we can drive over the boarder to Bristol for some city fun or explore West and Mid Wales when we fancy some fresh air and countryside views. Mr A has been asking for a while to visit the The Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh in Brecon, as some of you may know he is fascinated with anything related to the Military, Scouts, Bear Grylls and basically anything outdoors. I have to be honest and say  I'm not such a fan of the Army but I want to allow my child freedom to explore his interests and as the museum is located in the quaint historical market town of Brecon in Mid-Wales and I thought it would make a nice day-trip. We arrived late morning and enjoyed a walk by the canals, watching the narrowboats and enjoying the fresh air. We then stopped off for a bite to eat at the waterside cafe Tipple n' Tiffin where I opted for a delicious organic green salad ......

Puffin Rock is coming to the UK

When it comes to screen time we are pretty particular about what Mr A watches, we like to keep things age appropriate and preferably educational or with some life lessons, as well as anything that may inspire creativity or friendship. I think by vetting everything first we can view screen time as a positive thing rather than a negative so we are always excited when we hear about a show that fits our ethos and can't wait to watch the first episode of Puffin Rock coming to Nick Jr this Monday at 6:30pm Puffin Rock is an Irish animation all about a Puffin called Oona who is learning about the world around her while going on adventures on the wild and rugged island she lives on with her little brother and three friends, Children are encouraged to learn and reflect through Oona's own explorations in this beautiful crafted animation with its gentle and soft tones and educational values that make it perfect for the bedtime slot. It's really lovely seeing a nat......

Home Wrenovation and homely touches

In the past five years we have moved three times, huge renovations were done on our first house with everything being ripped out, walls taken down, extensions put on, floors repaired, the whole works, we then went on to sell that house for a decent profit before moving into a rented cottage for a year while we planned our next move. We then came across our current home which we purchased partially as a stop gap but also as a mini project as it needed work but not a full renovation. We now hope to take this property to market this year and perhaps move onto a more long-term project. To say it's been easy would be a lie, moving is stressful and with small children even more so but we believe it's going to be worth it in the longterm and eventually we will find a house to fall in love with, a place that we can really call home. One of the things that attracted us to our current property was the fairly large garden and the fact that the only room in the house that......

NoFilter Amsterdam

As some of you may already know at the end of the last year we had an amazing city break in Amsterdam, one of our favourite cities in Europe. As with any trip we took lots of photos and as normal when we returned I did some basic editing through lightroom, as well as posting a few on instagram. Such is life now that we all use some kind of editing wether it be filters, sharpening, levels etc so when I came across the really interesting #NoFilter project run by London City Airport I was keen to be involved. The aim of the project is to get back to the roots of photography and celebrating the fact that photos don't need to be edited heavily with apps such as instagram to show how beautiful the city is. I have been asked to share up to five unedited photos of our trip - all of these are straight off my memory card with absolutely no editing not even cropping and I think they still managed to capture this colourful and exciting city. Here are a few tips fo......
