3 Ways to save money at home this Christmas
Christmas is on its way. Forthcoming times to be treasured include seasonal treats such as: time off work, mulled wine, an excuse for bad jumpers, and of course, a host of supermarkets competing for our heartstrings through TV adverts. It’s an expensive time of year too, and that’s true even for the grinches among us. After all, if the annual present-buying frenzy isn’t mandatory in your winter lifestyle, turning the heating up must be. This is a short guide to help you to save money in the home this Christmas and hopefully this guide will allow you to indulge more this Christmas (eggnog or otherwise). Beautiful hallway (i mage ) Beating the bills while heating the chills Central heating can be a hot topic at Christmas. But while it’s possible to stave off the cold through the art of layering clothes and eating hot stew, it’s inevitable that the thermostat will need a tweak at some point. Chilling statistics from the Debt Advisory Centre show that more th......

Turning your instagrams into a Printrbook
I love instagram - that cute square format, I don't think I will ever get bored of it so it was really lovely to have the chance to review the Printrbooks which turns your instgram piccies into a nifty little pocket book - the ideal way to share your snaps in the real world. The book is not very big but I don't really feel it needs to be either and it's printed on good quality paper. I love the concept and think it makes great little presents - perfect for the christmas stocking, birthdays or just for yourself and the turn around time is pretty quick too. When you start designing your book it basically takes your images from instagram and you simply pick which ones you want printed - easy peasy. I am sure I will be ordering another one of these pretty soon, especially after our trip to France. I was sent my lovely custom Printrbook to provide an honest review. ...

Dear Valentine
So I know some people don't do Valentines - and we try and not get caught up in all the madness by simply enjoying each others company and that of the people we love - but we do like to treat the ones we love as well with simple pleasures such as breakfast in bed, maybe some nice bubbly, baking carrot cake with the little man for the other half and perhaps a little present wouldn't go amiss. We always make our Valentines day cards (so much more fun and heart-felt) but I thought I would put together a little inspirational list of cool and quirky gifts for the day of love. Map Cufflinks for him - from Etsy £10 Say it with Flowers Scented Rose Seed Gift - £4 from John Lewis I am totally in love with this Limited Collection Rose Print Floral body from M&S - I usually don't by things like this but I just think it's beautiful and would be as much as a gift for me as it would be for the other half and it's very reasonable for such a wonderful item coming......

Home and style at Christmas
So we have a new home and this is our first Christmas in it which has been very exciting. Everything was somewhat of a rush, having only moved in less than 3 weeks ago but we managed to get our tree up, decorated the house, make a gingerbread house and some homemade gingerbread cookie gift tags and get a very excited little toddler to sleep in time for the big day. It was a magical morning spent opening our stockings and gifts, we opted for less is more and picked some lovely natural toys for the little man. We had a champagne breakfast, which always goes down well especially on a lazy chilled out morning before walking over to spend the day at Mr A's grandmothers house. I have also been keeping my beautiful East jumper aside for a special occasion and there is none more special than christmas day, I think my lovely doggy jumper beats any novelty one and captures winter and the Christmas feel while still being stylish and warm. I feel like such a lucky girl as John sur......

Boys Club and British Humour
So another lovely Boys Club post for you, Johns space to share his likes, what he is wearing and this week reading. So it's been a week of warm weather and eating outdoors - our two favourite combinations! We recently did a post about Summer Cocktails and here is what John was wearing to our little family BBQ. He went with a short sleeve shirt by Woolrich Woolen Mills and a Norse Project Hat with HM shorts and Superga shoes - a perfect combination for summer, spending time in the garden and is practical but also preppy. John wears - Woolrich Woolen Mills shirt, Norse Project Hat, HM shorts and Superga shoes The two boys wearing hats in the hot weather John was also asked by Presents for Men to review an amusing and witty coffee table book perfect for the inspiring country gentleman - Tails of Tottering Hall, a very entertaining book capturing British humour to a tee and with both of us being dog lovers this is a great accompaniment to our large book collection......

Our favourite new things
So did you get what you hoped for for Christmas? We made a point of not asking for anything - this way it was all a surprise. Here are the four things we are enjoying most of all.... My Chanel makeup gifts from John - a real treat! It consist of a quadra eye shadow - in natural "mystic shades" and Rouge Allure lipstick as well as eye pads and make-up brushes, can't wait to try them out. We are both loving our new street style instalment from The Sartorialist - his follow up book - amazing as usual and highly recommended. This digital radio was a present from my mother to both John and I as a house warming gift and also we have been sitting in silence at breakfast due to our radio breaking during the move...we love the Britannia feel to it Mr A is having hours of fun with his toll bench, he loves to hammer the big nails in and them get them our and scream on the wood and it's great for building co-ordination and spacial awareness skills. ...

A Jolly good time
So Christmas has been and past...hope you got everything you asked for. This year I really enjoyed the giving side of things, I started planning far further in advance and found some really special little gifts for my friends and family, like finding this Ralph Lauren soap - I didn't even know they made soap! I also managed to find little Mr A a very cute little wooden kitchen and wooden tools which he loves and hopefully he will leave mine alone now. The only thing to put a dampener on the day was for the past week we have all been struck down by a horrible virus - Mr A has been hit the worst and has had a fever for the past 5 days and totally out of sorts, he is slowly coming back to his old cheeky self. Ralph Lauren Soap Unfortunately because of us getting sick we didn't get to make Christmas the homemade affair we usually do. I did manage to pick up our wonky real tree and decorated before getting ill as well as making some orange slice decorations and Mr A and I al......
