10 Ways to Get Your Start In the Creative Industries

*Contains affiliate links  A career in creative industries is something that is appealing to many people but it's now always the easiest industry to get a foothold into, although with a clear plan and ambition it really is possible. I always knew I wanted a creative job when I was younger and I feel very privileged to be able to write for a living but it took a lot of work to be able to do this full time. Firstly I started out about 15yrs ago writing for local and community-based magazines while studying in Photography and Photojournalism at college and then University, although I strongly feel you don't have to go to University achieve your goals.  There are plenty of opportunities in the creative industries but often you have to go out and find them. Besides writing for local magazines during my studies I also worked for an events company as a festival & live bands photographer, learning the importance of selling rights to images, networking and being profession......

Annie Greenabelle Eco love

Every now and then I like to highlight  a fashion brand that not only looks good but has pretty green credentials to boot. Please note I have not been asked by AG to do this post - this is simply a brand I love and want to share with you.   Annie Greenabelle is a women's ethical clothing company using mainly organic and fair-trade cottons and only use factories that comply with the Ethical Trading Initiative. Guess Watches Spring/Summer love

Retro...fresh....eye-catching are all words that describe the new spring/summer Guess watch collection. The campaign was shot at a motel in LA and has a real vintage feel to it married with the modern and pop colour watches. Paul Marciano, the creative director of Guess described this best - "The spring 2012 campaign reminds every Guess Girl and Guy of what it means to represent the beauty of the past in a way that glorifies the present. I'm really impressed with there fearless approach to things and Guess has always been a brand not afraid to try new things with these bold new colours. John and I are going to London this week to attend the Guess One to Watch Global blogger search and will have a chance to see the rest of the collection and can't wait...up dates very soon. ...

Notebook photoshoot love

So I came across this photoshoot in a magazine the other day and simply loved the deep reds, rings and jackets. The one thing I love about the changing seasons is it will soon be time for Mac's and coats (although I would prefer for it to be summer all year round). For some reason this photoshoot reminds me of Paris, I am not sure why. I heart this whole outfit, especially the Miu Miu dress and  the ankle socks I really want this Cerruti sweater and Stella McCartney shoes!! ...

Chloe Winter-Fall Preview, Photos and Share the love

Here are some sneak preview pictures of the upcoming Chloe Fall-Winter 2010 collection and advertising campaign. I am loving the retro 1970's feel. Looks like the high-waisted trousers are making another appearance in the coming season, as well as soft touches of denim and leather....hmmm excited to see the rest. So I have just got some film back from the labs, there is always something exciting about getting negatives back and seeing if there is anything good, I find that the whole process is lost with digital. These are shot on one of my favourite "toy" plastic camera's - a Vivitar slim and wide. It cost me a whole £5 to buy but I love the slightly warped effect it gives images. So here is my "Part 1 summer fun in Cardiff ". Keeping on the local beat, my day was brightened up by going to have tea and coffee at a rather overlooked quirky gift shop/tea room WonderStuff, in Treorchy, which never fails to please. A combination of cosy surround......
