We are edging closer and closer to putting our house on the market and we cannot wait, our time in our little welsh hobbit house as we refer to it as the ceilings are so low are coming to an end. We are all in need of more space, more light and in Johns case a doorway he doesn't bang his head on everyday. As much as the rustic appeal is to us and it really does, our home is a bit neither here or there in terms of location, only 20mins from the city on the edge of a small town so it doesn't have the slower pace feel as you would find in a more rural location and equally does not have the colour and culture of living within walking distance of the city. We have also found over time our real passion and dream would be to find a small bay fronted Victorian property as we absolutely love the combination of a period property with a fresh and modern look that embraces the original features of that time rather than covers them up. I think the Scandinavian inspiration that has b......

Modern Bathroom inspiration
We are planning to have moved into our new home before the end of the year, we still don't know where this new home will be exactly but most likely closer to the city centre and a place we can settle for little bit longer than the small Welsh cottage that we have slowly been trying to improve since we moved in more than two years ago. We are hoping our next property will be little lighter with more natural light and higher ceilings as John is a little fed up with hitting door frames in our low ceiling house. We love older houses and neither of us are fan's of new builds so a Victorian bay fronted property would be ideal and would also provide a space that could be modern yet retain some original features. One of the rooms I cannot wait to get stuck into designing is the bathroom, our current one as quaint and cosy as it is is in the eaves and an awkward shape so it would be nice to have something a little bit more standard in size and where we can add a few lu......

My kitchen wish list
So when we moved into our house, there was basically only one room finished and that was the kitchen and even though it's nice and large with an open plan feel it's not really our taste but we are not going to do any big changes as we plan to sell the house and the kitchen is very much a focus point but that doesn't mean we cannot dress it up with more personal objects which we have already started doing. Our first port of call is to change the bar stools as we want something more us, more simple with a country type feel but fits into the slightly modern look our kitchen has. Our kitchen when we moved in We have been looking around and have decided to go with something more natural and wooden and love the pop of red from this stool at Homebase as well as this plain white one from Ikea. I also tend to go with white and build on top of that but I am trying to bring more colour into our life and home and love the red stool which is reasonably priced at £85. I lo......

For the love of Chesterfield
Once we redecorate and upgrade our current house before putting it back on the market and hopefully moving onto a more "forever home" both John and I have agreed that we would both love to have a big bold Chesterfield sofa in either our reception or living space, something we see as a real investment piece that has longevity. Even though sometimes they can seem quite heavy in appearance they are a classic piece of furniture that is a lot more versatile than you think. They fit perfectly into a lovely bay fronted victorian property as they do into a hip loft style apartment and they often look better with age and are an item that really stands the test of time, something you could even past down to your children. I always remember the amazing chesterfields in my fathers office at work and there is something very comforting about them. Vintage or new they hark back to the old British country lodge style and are strong enough to endure many toddlers ......

Wall and Decor - Interior Inspiration
Thought I would bring another interior instalment as we make me dreams and plans to our new home (when we finally move). This week we have been thinking about walls and how to make the walls that surround you, individual, unique and interesting and they should not be something you looked over. Bring a hint of aesthetic beauty to walls in a home or office with classic and modern uniqueness. By decorating bare regions with stunning mirrors, shelves, pictures, or other specialty wall hangings, a fresh new look will be achieved. Check out some of the ideas for creating different moods and scenes with today's selections. Mirrors and Space Be gone with a plain mirror, sandwiched between two level sconces. Instead, make a journey of space and movement with mirrors of different shapes and sizes. Mirrors are great for bringing focus and light to a room, picking up light from all angles. Get really creative and chose a clock embedded in a mirror and accented with bursts......

Dreams of a SMEG Kitchen
The plan is to move very soon *exciting* and since I have recently fallen in love with the application that is Pintrest , I have found it to be an amazing tool when scrap-booking my idea kitchen. I love the cook and to me the kitchen is the heart of the home, the one place I could spend a lot of money on to get just right. I love wooden floors, solid oak tables, home-made trinkets and retro fittings. One of my biggest "must haves" for the new kitchen is a SMEG friday, ohh for how I have longed for a SMEG fridge for so many years. Their design is timeless, and fits with pretty much any type of look you are going for, be it rustic, vintage, modern or contemporary - there are not many products that can do that! So I better keep saving because I won't settle for anything less Here are a few visual inspirations....and dreams..... ...
