Lookiero Personal Shopper Service Review

*I was provided with a Lookiero box free of charge in exchange for an honest review  Are you really busy? Do you struggle to find that balance between work, life, family, kids and everything else in between? You want to feel good in the clothes you wear and have your wardrobe updated for the season ahead but flat out have no time to get to the stores - well I hear you! I'm exactly in that position at the moment and because I am so short on time it means when I do get a spare hour or two, when I head to my favourite independent and high street stores I feel completely overwhelmed with choice and end up not knowing what to look for and coming away usually with nothing. That's where Lookerio comes in! I was invited to try out the Lookerio service which is a personalised styling service delivered straight to your door! Now being someone who is fairly fussy and particular about the clothes I wear as well as being an awkward size (I'm just under 4ft11 so smaller than sta......

Getting Party ready with JD Williams

Who else is starting to get really excited about the festive season and to many that means parties, events, seeing family and friends and socialising. Even for those who work from home like I do it's a time for meeting up with friends, enjoying good food and a time to step out of those day to day clothes and into something a little bit more special, I mean who doesn't love an excuse to dress up. Long gone are my twenties however and I do sometimes struggle around this time of the year to find something that is fun, stylish and festive while still being a little bit more sophisticated and me. As I have aged my personal style and changes and developed with me so finding somewhere that captures my needs now is really important. JD Williams recently got in touch to see if I would like to work with them in the run-up to the Party Season and I have been extremely excited about this collaboration as their collections are so well curated and certainly tailor to the more refin......

How to bring some Parisian style into your Wardrobe

I think that it is impossible to deny that when it comes to fashion the French get it right. With their effortless style that while remains fairly casual is also very chic and the classic Parisian look never seems dated or out of touch. If your heading to the continent this year and what to capture that European look or perhaps your just embracing all that the UK has to offer but feel your wardrobe needs a bit of a refresh or update than I have put a few key points and tips together on how to bring a little bit of Paris into your home and wardrobe 1. The Essential Breton The Breton top has been a staple since Coco Chanel introduced it into her nautical collection in 1917 and it needs to be in every wardrobe and has been worn by many a fashion icon over the years. It simply oozes French style while still being practical and is great paired up with some jeans or high waisted trousers. 2. Back to Black In my book black and monochrome is always a good idea and it reall......

T-shirt Style Trends to Follow in 2018

As we move out of January and head towards February I can almost start to feel a slight air of excitement as spring and then summer is on its way. I am very much a summer girl, when we can let go of all the layers and embrace t-shirts and shirts as they are meant to be worn instead hidden under winter jackets. Already we are starting to see a few trends filter through as stores are slowly gearing up to changing their winter stock to summer styles. I thought I would share a few trends I predict are going to be very popular this year. Let’s read on further, in order to learn more about new designs. Ethical Tees Isn't great supporting a label that gives a little back whether it be through a fair-trade initiative or supports a certain charity there are loads around at the moment. I am a big fan of People Tree , a sustainable clothing company that believes in cutting the middle man out and supporting directly the people who manufacture their clothing by nurturing them and inv......

Feel cool in Cashmere

Cashmere is one of the most recognisably classic material the fashion world has to offer. It’s never  really goes out of fashion: velvet comes and goes, lamé has made a recent and surprising comeback, but at any period and during in any trend, cashmere is a reliable hallmark of quality and comfort used by the best designers to create luxurious and aspirational clothing and accessories, whether that’s soft, warm scarves or hardwearing but still luxuriously comfortable pullovers. Finding a good piece of cashmere can be challenge though. The fact it is a classic fabric and an indicator of quality when it comes to clothes means that some labels use it badly in order to grant their designs cache. I know we are currently in summer but that also means is a good time to get in there early with warmer jumpers and scarfs for the winter.  Here are some tips to help identify a good piece of cashmere, that could make the difference between snapping up a unique piece ......

Capsule Wardrobe - Breton Stripes

I've been slowly trying to build a capsule wardrobe, as some of you may know I am on a mission to minimise my life, I still have a long way to go but at least I'm going in the right direction. It's made me think a lot about my personal style, what works and doesn't work for me and how I can still have fun with fashion. My wardrobe is in somewhat of need of an update but I am taking my time, trying to apply less is more and therefore really questioning my purchases. A personal favourite though has to be a Breton tee, paired up with jeans and it's always a win.  So I thought today I would go with this classic style and put together one of my favourite combinations of my Nine West Blue Breton with my Karen Millen skinny black jeans, anchor & crew necklace and Dr Martens shoes. It's simple, chic and perfect for a lunch out in the city. There are a few other pieces I have in mind to add to my wardrobe this summer and that is a playsuit of ......

Summer Ready with Serengeti

After having a little preview to summer over the past few weeks with a couple of warm and sunny days it certainly means the summer clothes, shorts and dresses are coming out and I am really looking forward to a hot summer (fingers crossed). What I love about summer is simplifying things, not having to wear layers and accessorising any outfit with some sandals, summer hats and stylish sunglasses - put all of those things together and you have the holiday summer look down wether your travelling abroad or staying closer to home. I recently picked up this upcycled Ralph Lauren shirt which has been turned into a dress from Topshop reclaim collection which gives life back to vintage clothes in a fun and modern way, it's also a really ethical choice and I love that most of the collection pieces are one-offs. I have paired it up with my Docs and these stylish black Serengeti Sunglasses . I was offered these sunglasses from Discounted Sunglasses which offers a range of designe......

Khaki jacket & keeping it simple

Don't you just love it when you come across something you know is going to work with so many things and be used over and over again. As I am trying to minimalise so much of life right now so when purchasing clothes I know are going to contribute to a cohesive capsule wardrobe for the coming season is really important. I've been looking for a simple olive green/khaki jacket for a while so when I came across this one in TopShop I knew it would be a good choice and while I had a more tailored shirt or jacket in mind I really love that this one is more loose and casual. I have paired up this jacket with a simple white tee from Mango and a pair of skinny jeans with Ankle boots from Wallis and a Bowler hat from Urban Outfitters with some glasses from the H&M Conscious recycled plastic collection. At the moment I am really enjoying keeping things fairly simple and adding to it, I do however love the colour but I am just playing around with a few things as I just t......
