Food, fun and mini adventures in Cardiff

Enjoying a fresh Kale salad at Benugo's Life has been so busy lately I feel like I've not done many updates on what we have been getting up to in and around Cardiff. We have been exploring so much of the local area lately I thought I would share a few foodie places we have been enjoying and some mini adventures in the city. We have also done a lot more outdoor exploring but I will keep those for another post so this one is more about accessible family friendly city stops and places to eat with kids (as well as childfree). Firstly we were invited to try out the new menu at Benugo's, John Lewis in St Davids two. I love how well they cater for vegetarians with some fantastic fresh dishes as seen above with their Kale and Pomegranate salad as well as child friendly options, it's also great to see this London based British company expand to Cardiff. John and I also managed to stop into Jamie's one morning and try out their new breakfast menu, I di......

Let them be Superhero's

Having grown up in a creative household it's always been important to both John and I to provide our sons with a space that allows them to express themselves in a safe and supportive environment. We completely encourage moments of madness, imagination and believing in the unbelievable.  So when Vertbaudet set my eldest a challenge of putting together his dream superhero I had an inclination it would include Dinosaurs but what I didn't expect is that he would pair it up with super secret Ninja skills  and creating a crime busting Ninja Dinosaur that projects the smaller Dinosaurs from any rogue meat eaters that may be prowling the plains of our back garden.  I love how free kids feel when they are in character as Mr A spent the rest of the day in this superhero suit, roaring along the aisles of our local supermarket without a care in the world, if only I could be be so unselfconscious as my 5yr old.  Competition Do your little ones lov......

Street Style Sunday Link-up

So I am very excited to be co-hosting the lovely Street Style Sunday linky with the lovely Style Me Sunday blog, I was lucky enough to meet the lovely ladies who run the blog last year at The Mads Awards and I am constantly inspired but their amazing fashionable picks for ladies and kids so I was really over the moon to be invited to co-host with them this weekend. The link-up was perfectly timed for me as this week I picked up this lovely little maroon skirt in a sale in H&M (total bargain) and it's a great little transitional piece as we go from spring into summer. I have paired it up with my little scotty dog jumper from M&S, boots from TopShop and a Paul Costelloe bag and as well as my very old and well-travelled necklace my mother gave to me a few years back. The great thing about the link is you can link up what your children have been rocking, for Mr A this week it's been all about being a dinosaur - I say why not Get involved and link ......

Home and style at Christmas

So we have a new home and this is our first Christmas in it which has been very exciting. Everything was somewhat of a rush, having only moved in less than 3 weeks ago but we managed to get our tree up, decorated the house, make a gingerbread house and some homemade gingerbread cookie gift tags and get a very excited little toddler to sleep in time for the big day. It was a magical morning spent opening our stockings and gifts, we opted for less is more and picked some lovely natural toys for the little man. We had a champagne breakfast, which always goes down well especially on a lazy chilled out morning before walking over to spend the day at Mr A's grandmothers house. I have also been keeping my beautiful East jumper aside for a special occasion and there is none more special than christmas day, I think my lovely doggy jumper beats any novelty one and captures winter and the Christmas feel while still being stylish and warm. I feel like such a lucky girl as John sur......
