I have had my fair share of dental emergencies, and the one thing I've learnt is the best way to avoid ongoing pain is to deal with the problem as quickly as possible. Sometimes that is easier said than done, for example, I cracked a tooth while travelling and accessing dental care in a foreign country can be tricky, also life can get in the way with work, childcare etc but prioritising dental health is key, especially as prevention. Good dental hygiene not only keeps you healthier but can save you a lot of money. In recent years, there has been a far greater emphasis on having a higher level of wellness to be able to enjoy life to the full. Education has played a big part in this, with many individuals looking at self-help to remain healthy. Keeping fit and eating the right foods are obvious ways to do this, not least as they lead to a better night’s sleep and the benefits such as improved moods and energy that they bring. Hygiene is something that must not be overlooked, as thos......

What I really want for Mothers Day
*AD This is a Paid collaboration with Boots.com All parents are different, our needs and circumstances vary massively and while chocolates and flowers are always a welcomed gift they are not always what we want or need. In fact according to a survey done last year by Parents.com, the overwhelming response was either a good night's sleep or a day off/time alone and I am not surprised one bit. Being a parent is the most fulfilling but equally exhausting role you can ever have and women especially often put everyone else first, to their own detriment and wellbeing and that needs to change. For myself personally, there are three things (seems like a lot right but really it's not) I'd appreciate this year is to make as many memories as possible, as my children are getting older I am fully aware that with each year they are going to need me less and less and while at times that feels like a positive it's also an unsettling prospect. I also want to take time to focus on my ......

However, when it comes to dental health, brushing and dentist visits, children can be more resistant! Here’s your little guide on how to help your children sport bright and pearly whites all the time! 1. Teach them to brush effectively Brushing for kids is an event that they are either super excited about, or absolutely detest; there is no in-between. If your kid falls into the second category, you know that supervising them is necessary initially. Make sure that you brush with them so that it can be turned into a fun ritual twice a day. Teach them how to clean the back of their teeth to avoid the development of plaque. Rinsing after each meal is also a habit you must inculcate within your child, no matter where they go; at home, at daycare or in school! 2. Use a tongue cleaner The use of tongue cleaners or teaching children how to p......

6 Ways to take care of your kids teeth
It goes without saying that every child is the apple of the parent's eye. As a parent, you are always willing to walk the extra mile when it comes to the health and safety of your child. One should understand that oral health is equally important as overall health and the key to good oral health is a set of sparkling and decay-free pearly whites. Strong and healthy teeth have a vital role to play in children as they are an integral component for the development process of speech and nutrition. Good teeth help the child have proper food and enables the child to talk properly. Some may feel that milk teeth aren't as important as adult teeth. That is wrong! Milk teeth form the foundation of well-aligned adult teeth. When milk teeth develop deep cavities and get pulled out before its designated time, the space for the corresponding adult tooth (that is lying within the jawbone) begins to close. Therefore, the adult tooth emerges in a wrong position and disturbs the entire b......
