Christmas at Celtic Manor

So earlier this month I was kindly invited to an afternoon of wonderful conversation, beautiful table decor and of course some delicious tea and cake at the Celtic Manor - a stunning 5 star hotel on the outskirts of Newport as part of #MyCelticXmas. It was lovely to be given the chance to preview their Christmas Cream Tea and I can honestly say I was not disappointment at all, from beginning to end the whole experience was seamless and was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. When I arrived I was greeted by the friendly staff and offered a drink before be shown to my seat alongside some other lovely local bloggers. We had a quick briefing about the what the hotel offers and what to expect from the day and an insight into the new Celtic Manor blog which is really worth a read. I am already planning to return to take the little man to the Winter Wonderland which sounds amazing. After the briefing we were introduced to the head pastry chef who wa......

Cardiff Bloggers - Tea at Pettigrew

This enhanced cream tea was amazing At the end of October myself and two lovely local bloggers - Gemma from Fat Frocks and Chantelle from Two Hearts One Roof decided to organise a pre-christmas tea for Cardiff bloggers and it really was a wonderful day. The venue - Pettigrew Tea Rooms in Bute Park is a simply stunning location and provided us with the most amazing enhanced cream tea which consisted of the most exquisite handmade delicacies, I particularly enjoyed the fresh scones and mini eclairs. What was the main highlight though was meeting up with friends and new faces and basically having a chat over some loose leaf tea. The group was really diverse and it was wonderful sharing stories and  putting faces to blogs. The lovely people at Argos also collaborated with the event and together we brought in toys to donate to Banardos which was wonderful as it's always great to get involved with a charity. After the cream tea some of us headed off ......

John Lewis Blogger Challenge

On the weekend I had the amazing opportunity to take part in a John Lewis blogger challenge at the Cardiff St Davids Store with Charli from Charli dot dot dot . We were each given a budget for which to find a festive christmas outfit. My budget was £500 to find an outfit from top to toe that would be perfect for a festive night out. Whenever I think of christmas I think of gold and silvers and wanted to incorporate that element into my outfit. So with the run of the store I went out and looked for something I felt comfortable in and an outfit I could see myself wearing with hints of sparkle. I managed to put together my outfit just under the budget with it coming in at £458, I could of easily gone over as I spotted a lovely Ralph Lauren bag for £360 but that would not have left me very much for the rest of the outfit. John Lewis stocks so many amazing brands and I really wanted to showcase the diversity in the outfit with each piece being a different make but all working......

Next Home Blogger Event

So last week I was lucky enough to be invited to the Next Home-ware blogger event in Cardiff. It was a great day out with some inspiring interiors, stylish bloggers and high tea in a penthouse suite at St Davids hotel. The day started out with a tour of the Next store in Leckwith Cardiff, which is amazing by the way - it's so huge and has an amazing homes section. I loved all the room sets and there is a real nautical theme this season as well as a crafty, home-made element, especially with their cute cushion covers. They have some great accessories and they are all very reasonably priced, more than I expected. The furniture can be quite expensive but is solid, well made, has designer features and worth the little bit extra. After we had a good look around the store, picking up a few bits and bobs for the house (I love my new bicycle tea candle holder) we made our way to St Davids Hotel to watch the new Next home wear TV advert and have a spot of pampering with m......
