Sign the Worlds Largest Mothers Day Card

Mothers day is a time we get to stay thank-you to that special person in our lives who has undoubtedly sacrificed a lot throughout the years and even if that person is no longer here anymore than this can also be a time of positive reflection and sharing memories together as a family. Being a parent myself, mothers day to me is all about the simple things and not about materials good and my kids know that all I really want is a hand made card because to me thats all that really matters (of course a nice magazine or little treat won't go amiss but it's never expected) as well as a relaxing walk outdoors with my boys and I'm happy. Mothers Day is also a time for gratitude and I am continuously grateful to have two healthy children as well as my own health, to live in a fairly stable country (let's not talk about Brexit) and being able to provide healthy meals, a warm home and some holidays, well I couldn't ask for anything more. So I am really grateful t......

Make a statement, Business tips

John in his element as a traditional barber So for those who don't know both John and I are self-employed, this is both very exciting but also stressful as basically you are totally in charge of your future and your finances. The one thing I have learnt about running a small business or being self employed that visibility is key, if people don't know what you do or who you are you simply won't pull in the clients, thats what marketing tools are really key. My business cards at the ready So what are our top tips we have learnt so far on our journey into self-employment? 1. Never underestimate the power of networking  Both John and I have benefited a lot by networking with like minded people, wether in a formal or casual situation if your passionate about what you do it alway comes across and usual makes the person you are talking too interested as well, we have both seen the benefit of this when a few weeks later that person has got in touch to know more......

Jacques Vert Collaboration comes to Cardiff

So I am going to be attending a wedding later this year and instead of leaving what I am going to wear right to the last minute this time I am actually going to try and be organised about things and find something stylish and chic that I feel comfortable in, so I was very interested to hear that Jacques Vert has done a collaboration with Lorcan Mullany. The collection includes some tailored cocktail dresses which would be perfect for a day at the races or a wedding and they are going to be stocking some of the range at House of Fraser in Cardiff. You may also be surprised to hear that the Jacques Vert actually consists of 9 British brands which includes the chic Kaliko, Minute Petite and Planet which is also available at House of Fraser and has some great pieces for summer. Pretty Kaliko skirt, lovely floral print ...

Orla Kiely for Uniqlo

Who doesn't like the bold and beautiful prints of Orla Kiely? Her simple designs are so iconic so when I heard about the exclusively designed and never before seen print collaboration with Uniqlo I did a little dance of joy as the range is so reasonable and won't make a dent in your wallet with all the garments coming in at £12.90. Whats even better is that this range also features Uniqlo's HEATTECH technology which basically keeps you nice and toasty and the v-neck and roll top tees in the collection are perfect for winter. The idea behind the range is "a happy winter" with Orla taking inspiration from a living winter forest with all it's flora and fauna and is unique and super cute and I am going to pick on of these fun pieces for sure before they sell out. ...

Gok for Tu

So a new Sainsburys has opened near where I live, so today I thought I would check it out, as exciting as supermarket shopping is. I don't normally look at supermarket clothes for myself but a cute little best caught my eye and I noticed that it was designed by Gok Wan. It seems that supermarkets have clicked on to getting creative with collaborations and Gok is a great choice when you are trying to appeal to women of all sizes. I really liked his little 1950's inspired collection, it's pretty simplistic but chic and some of the pieces I could imagine on Lana Del Ray. Please note I have been in no way asked by Sainsburys to talk about this line - this is 100% my own thoughts. Here are my favourites.               ...

Dr Martens first loves

I am loving the Lookbook.nu collaboration with Dr Martens for the First and Forever Spring/summer 2012 collection. They picked some bloggers and LookBook users to style some of their new shoes - with great success. The campaign is all about your first love with Dr Martens - everyone remembers their first pair....I had mine when I was 13 and discovering Nirvana and Soundgarden. I think they have come a long way though from the typical grunge look and developed the brand into unique everyday shoes. You can share your experience at #FIRSTANDFOREVER . I don't really use LookBook....I have always lean towards chictopia - but that's simply down to time, either way they have some great street style bloggers and loads of inspiration. Here are some of my favourite picks from the collaboration ...
