A little peek at the nursery

Our little nursery in the eaves is starting to come together We have recently paired up with the lovely people at Laura Ashley to bring a few special touches to our nursery we have been working on and you can see the full tour on the Laura Ashely blog  which is very exciting. Basically a few weeks ago this little room in the eaves was my office space since then we striped it back and slowly turned it into the nursery which is now almost finished. Having given it a coat of paint when we moved in we felt it needed a bit of colour and decided to use some beautiful Laura Ashley wall paper to the one side as well as some cute fabric star bunting to add a touch of texture and fun. We decided to go with a traditional British theme with hark back to the childhood fairytales of Peter Rabbit and Winnie the Pooh - which is actually engraved on this lovely Obaby Gliding crib , which is a slightly larger option to the moses basket we used last time and we are hoping to get a lot......

Calm, Chaos and Home Decorating 52/3

Enjoying some simple pleasures and moments of calm Wow can't believe it's already the 3rd week of 52 memories with The Mumdrum - a campaign encouraging people to document there year through photos. It's been so busy around here that on days it's felt pretty manic, the baby is due in 4 weeks and we are having work done on all three bedrooms as well as needing to replace the whole bath and shower before the little one makes it's appearance. Its felt like we live in the land of boxes at the moment and no matter how many trips we make to the tip it doesn't seem to make a dent in the clutter. So what do you do on days like this? Get out of the house for a walk, chill out and a spot of Coffee, which Mr A loved as he was treated to some marshmallows. On the move

As you already may now we recently sold our house! We thought we would be moving just after Christmas but the buyer insisted on moving in before so for the past two weeks that is what we have been doing - packing...moving...moving and more packing - hence the lack of posts! We have also been offline for the first time in a long time, in fact we will only be reconnect to the world wide web next Wednesday  so this post is coming to you via my parents broadband. Moving is always a stressful and crazy time but with a toddler thrown in on top of that it's pretty interesting - especially just before Christmas  We have been working hard over the past few days to make our new temporary house homely - yes I say temporary as we still haven't found a place to buy, so we are renting a cute little cottage for a while instead. That Christmas feeling

So a big happy Christmas to everyone and one and all. Hope you have all had an amazing past few days with lots of laughs. I have been so busy with my home photography studio - last minute christmas portrait shoots and running around trying to get them printed for clients right. But I always try and make some things as there is nothing like abit of a homemade feel to christmas, another rule that I have is the Tree and the wreath have to be real - no fakes here! I love the smell of a real tree, to me that is the smell of Christmas. One of the other things that is great about this time of the year is you can get up and have a champagne breakfast and no one looks twice mmmm I love champagne in the morning.
