While our youngest is still small date nights have become extremely rare and somewhat on hold, which means that we have to get a little bit more creative with finding time for John and I to have some quality adult time to chat and catch up, away from the home and in stylish surroundings. With breakfast being my favourite meal of the day and finding it much easier to arrange childcare in the morning than the evening it was really nice to be invited by Jamies in Cardiff to come and try out their new breakfast menu and have a a quiet start to the day before John has to head over to work. I started off with a Flat white and a fresh orange juice and John went for a cappuccino while we perused the breakfast menu, which is simple and straight to the point but has fantastic choices for both meat eaters and vegetarians. John went for a classic full monty which is Jamie's version of a full English fry up except with free range sausages and eggs, black pudding, brown cap......

Fathers Day kisses & Giveaway with Braun #AD
If you are a regular reader of my blog you probably already know that John sports a beard, at times its been very big and wild and other times is neater and more styled, either way it's been a longtime since I've seen him with a smooth face and our eldest wouldn't want it any other way. In fact I have mentioned before that John did shave it once when our eldest was about 2yrs old and wow was he upset! He was so distraught by this sudden change in his fathers appearance that John has never done it since and probably won't for a longtime if Mr A has anything to do with it. The one thing I have noticed is that is has not changed how affection is show between the two of them and both our sons love nothing better than a tickly kiss off their Dad and that is what Fathers Day should be all about, the simple things. In a recent survey however it became apparent that the least favourite among children were fathers with stubble as no one likes a prickly kiss. Every chil......

Fathers Day Kisses with #TeamTickly #AD
John and Mr A sharing a secret in Brussels We are really excited to be collaborating with Braun and that when it comes to fathers day gifts it's really the thought that counts and the simple things such as hugs and kisses that mean the most. John has had a beard since before our eldest, who is now 5yrs old, was born. He once shaved it off when Mr A was two and he was so distraught and upset and refused to get close to John, since then he has never been without a beard. It's all that both of the boys have known and at times Johns beard has been very big, in fact looking back at our holiday in Brussels a few years back it was huge and Mr A loved running his fingers through it. John has gone back and forth with the idea of shaving it all off but if you asked Mr A what he thinks well it's simply not an option, to him his Dad is a man with a beard and he wouldn't have it any other way, especially as it's so nice and tickly. A recent survey reveal......

Fathers Day Gifts for heart & home
How cute is this French bulldog card from Etsy So fathers day will soon be upon us and it's one of those wonderful days of there year we get to celebrate our partners, husbands, Dads or in fact any man in our life who has a positive impact. I always like to find something a bit different and fun, something that will bring a smile to my OH face and thought I would put a little gift guide together from the small little touches to the bigger gestures, lets treat the men in our lives. 1. John is not a jewellery kind of guy but I have to say I do love these Anchor and Crew necklaces from JewelStreet and they make some amazing unisex and ladies pieces as well (so you could always nab it for a bit). 2. We both love travel as does Mr A so this custom compass is something that could also be passed down from father to son. 3. Johns favourite city and many others is New York so when I came across this book on Find a Present about the faces, humans and street style in New......

Street Style Sunday - New Hat
So this week is a little bit of a mens wear inspired post as we love to mix things up on the blog and John has a nice new winter hat that works so well with his Patagonia jacket it seemed like the perfect outfit post to share for this weeks Street Style Sunday. John has struggled to find a decent knitted hat this winter as a lot just don't seem to fit right, are to big or to long and he wanted something smaller and neater so when stylish folk at Fat Buddha Store , a menswear store based in Glasgow asked John to pick something it was a no brainer after seeing this cable knit Edwin Beanie. As some of you may already know Edwin are well know for there salvage denim jeans and neither of us had seen these hats before but they are perfect for keeping warm in winter. John wears Patagonia Jacket, Levis jumper, Universal Works Shirt, Edwin Jeans, Clarks Shoes, Edwin Beanie Hope you can come and join in with Street Style Sunday this week - you can link up with anything f......

Boys Club - what they wore
So I thought it was a bit long overdue for a little outfit post from the two boys (well one man and one boy) and with Mr A turning 4 he has become a lot more picky about what he wants to wear - in fact he won't wear anything he doesn't pick out of his wardrobe himself - this usually involves camo shorts and a very well worn dinosaur t-shirt but this time he went for a real pop of colour and thought I had to capture that. Last week we were lucky enough to be invited to an event with Ralph Lauren in aid of their new literacy collection with the book trust charity and it was amazing - I will be sharing this wonderful day out with you very soon but while we were there Mr A had the chance to model these red trousers and they basically have not come off since then. Mr A wears Cos striped tee, RL trousers, Clark shoes John and mr A have also been spending as much time outside on John's days off and before winter sets in, exploring the local parks and teaching Mr A how......

Menswear Essentials - Soft Coats
It's that time of the year when we it's not quite warm enough to go out without a jacket on hand but equally to warm for thicker coats, so now is the perfect time for the men to bring out the soft sartorial coats, like Johns Post Overalls jacket above. Soft jacket and coats are a great way to bridge the gap between more formal attire and the casual jumper and not only help with a little bit extra warmth before the summer evenings hit but also help bring and outfit together and can be worn during the day spent in the city of on a family adventure or on a night out, by simply dressing it up with a tie for a more sophisticated evening look. It's also great for light layering as the weather becomes warmer and creates a casual but softly tailored style and can really help bring an outfit together. Popular fabrics are cotton and linen and John has a few soft style coats and jackets all of which become useful during this time of the year. Make sure you go ......

Boys Club
So it's that time again for the men in my life to showcase there big and mini looks of late. I only wish I could preserve shoes like John does, can you believe his pair of Red Wings are 10 years old and look in better condition than half my shoes. I think it's one of those things we often talk about on the blog - less is more and buy investing in these he really has gotten a lot of milage out of them, and hopes one day to hand them down to Mr A. John is also sporting one of his latest purchases - a lightweight jacket for summer from Post Overalls, alongside his double RRL jeans. John wears - Post Overalls jacket, RRL jeans, Red Wing shoes Mr A has also been getting a lot of use out of his thicker shirts before the warmer weather really does start to set in, the great thing is because this shirt is thick it means I don't have to layer him so much at the moment and it's also durable for a rough and rouble little chappy, which he is. We picked it up from ......
