Cardiff bay Wetlands, a hidden gem in the Welsh Capital

One of our favourite places to visit during the summer, but also the colder months, is Cardiff Bay Wetlands, a short walk from the vibrant bay area of the Welsh capital.  It's easy to miss and many people who live in the city don't even know it's there but it's well worth seeking out as it's a lovely quiet and tranquil place to explore and soak in beautiful views across the bay and people off all ages can enjoy it.  The wetlands are completely free to explore and cover 8 hectares of former salt marsh and are now a biodiversity hotspot within the capital and is now home to a variety of birds, fish, animals and supports a rich diversity of plants and other wildlife. We regularly spot swans, moorhens, coots and ducks on our visits along with fish and damselflies. Cardiff RHS Flower Show

Last month we headed off to Bute Park and the RHS Flower Show , it's actually the third year I have taken my eldest and the second time for my youngest and it has become somewhat of an annual tradition for us and a fantastic day out. This year I also attended with my friend Kelly, a Cardiff based blogger whose children are a similar age to my eldest and due to the popularity of the event I would recommend if you are taking kids to go with someone as it's so busy an extra pair of eyes is very handy.  With the Flower show taking place in Bute Park, the most central green space in the city centre, there is a real buzz as you get closer to the venue as people near and far travel to the Welsh Capital for a day full of colour, flowers, food and festivities.  What keeps bringing us back year after year is how family friendly it is and as soon as we passed through the gates we were asked if the kids would like to do a treasure hunt with a prize to everyone who ......

Help get Cardiff on the Monopoly Map!

Cardiff Millennium Centre   Something very exciting is afoot an if you are anything like me and love board games then hearing about the new Global Here and Now Monopoly board being developed is great news. What is even better is you can vote for various cities to have a chance at being including on the board and I am over the moon to have been asked to represent Cardiff on the blogger front of things and with so many reasons to see this small but perfectly formed Welsh city on the global map this is a real honour. Beautiful Cardiff Bay So why should you vote for Cardiff? Well many many reasons 1. Well it may not be the biggest city but the people are very welcoming, love to have a laugh and are a very generous folk. 2.
